T61 T7500 + Win8.1... CPU won't go above 54% usage

Hey there.

I have this weird problem with my 'new' laptop T61.

The T7500 processor won't go above 54% usage (looking at the Task Manager), or else it is clocked at 1.17 - 19GHz and no clock under load. Stuck in the 6 multiplier or something.

I was fiddeling autour with Throttlestop the otherday to "unlock" the State of 2.4 GHz but more later came back and deleted the program. This is when I started to notice this.

I went through the power settings in Win8.1 and in the BIOS.

I previously disabled SpeedStep technology in the BIOS and then yesterday I noticed I forgot to put "Mode for AC" in maximum Performance. So I changed it and I thought it was fixed but not good. Before that, I formatted the system, because I was already running a new OS.

The specifications of the system are:

T7500
4 GB OF RAM
SSD

Middleton BIOS
Intel GPU

Power BIOS settings are:

I am trampled enough right now and would like some ideas as to why this is happening.

See you soon.

EDIT: I just change all the settings in the BIOS for maximum performance. He has not changed a thing.

Then I plugged the battery and the problem disappeared, I unplugged the power cable and there was still no problem. But if I plug the power supply cable and remove the battery... it goes back to only half of its performance...

ThinkPads are NOT designed to be used without battery installed.

The only time we need to remove the battery from the machine is when he died, since working with a flat installed battery can - and finally - will damage the charging circuit.

I have a PC in real-time with a card of RIO 7833R. I write the values that I read a microphone in a FIFO at a sampling rate of 4 kHz.The length of the FIFO is 2048. The PC in real-time, when I call 'FIFO read' function to read say 400 data samples, the use of CPU time real PC hits 100%. Why is it so? The function 'Read FIFO' is placed inside a while loop.

    Thank you

    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,

Reading the FIFO is a method of querying, so if the number of elements specified to read are not available when the method is called, it queries the FPGA until they are.  This causes the CPU to 100% usage. You can find more information on this subject and a way around this here.

    Hello

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?
    3. you have windows live messenger installed on the computer?

Check if the problem persists in SafeMode (step 1). If the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network then, perform the clean boot (step 2) on your computer.

    Step 1:

    1. reboot the computer
2 start typing the F8 key
    3. you get it anticipated the startup option window

  • Upgrade CPU of my Satellite Pro L300-152

    Hello

    Celeron 560 2.13 GHz

Can someone tell me what CPU I can pass safely, I use it in a cool environment and care about a few 100 mhz more of her.

    Thank you for your support

Before you start to discuss CPU upgrade, check it please this Toshiba document - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

My personal opinion is that upgrading the CPU won't help much and you will not realize a difference in performance for laptop. In my opinion need more RAM or SSD better and faster. This better and better performance some CPU with 100 mhz dating more than one.

  • T61 suddenly stops after replacing the fan

I was getting a fan error (which prevented the start unit), so I ordered a replacement.

On install last night, everything seemed fine. Unit ran fine for 20 m and then Bam! abrupt stop.

This morning, same thing, the two witht the battery installed and with it out.

I have to suspect the fan, but I guess that the unit would not start even though the fan was not working.

any suggestions to diagnose the problem?

    Thank you very much

    Peter

    Hard to say...

The theory says the system automatically stops to avoid damage permanent, but if you tried to run more than once...

In any case a new CPU won't cost you much. Try again once the thermal paste is reapllied.

I hope you're using the HMM and following the procedures described here. Don't forget to tell us the number of type of machine (see my post above)

    Good luck!

  • Percentage of maximum CPU Windows 7 constantly frequency > 100%

Under Windows, I find that my CPU fan runs constantly audible. The fan made ramp immediately after Windows starts, even with no applications running. Windows resource monitor shows the CPU usage in the range of 25 to 40%. However, the maximum percentage of CPU frequency is consistently above 100% (usually around 110-115%). This means that the system is too overclocking? If so, is it logical to deduce that this may cause the CPU fan to run so much? Finally, how can I get this back to 100% (or less)?

The fan does not this way under MacOS.

    Hello

The CPU temperature depends on the use of the laptop and so it s not easy to say what would be the value of the ideal temperature.

According to this site of specification Intel CPU T5500 CPU temperature could affect up to 100 ° C
    http://processorfinder.Intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9SQ

But of course the internal CPU for laptop is much lower.
Running common applications temperature could increase to 50-60 ° C

  • How do I adapt bridge CC2015 settings, so it does not work with my new MacBook Pro (10.11.1) at 500% CPU?

Bridge CC2015 to run my new MacBook Pro (10.11.1) extremely hot. Fans are crazy and there are 500 + % CPU use.

Is there something I can adjust back to normal levels? I can't use it otherwise, it's going to melt my computer. Any suggestions?

    Hello!

I disagree, Photoshop was running the CPU very high, constantly above 100% (but not as bad as the bridge, which was greater than 500%) - especially when using healing and cloning brushes in quick succession, not to mention tool of transformation, which was even worse. The only way I could use it would normally operate in low resolution. I do a lot of pro work of retouching in Photoshop, so it is very demand a lot of work.

With PS 15.0.1 put a few days previously, it seems to work normally, however! Except the transformation tool, who infiltrates the fan works, but not as bad as before.

A strange thing happened, Bridge seems to work ok now. Don't know what happened. I am connected to an external monitor, but I don't see how it would matter. Maybe Photoshop upgrade had something to do with it?

I guess my problem is solved even if I have not changed anything.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Pavilion g7: Hp recovery media

I'm trying to create a recovery on my g7 pavilion hp media initially windows 8 upgraded to windows 10. I'm trying to use a new disc flash 32 gig it starts formatting the usb drive and never ends rest at 0% of all ideas

    IshoTA

Sorry, but this is not going to work.

If you try to create a recovery Win8 media, it won't work because the upgrade of Win10 corrupt recovery HP information: HP Recovery Manager blocked after Windows 10 Upgrade - HP Support Forum's - 5170752

If you try to create a recovery Win10 media, it won't work because she needs a recovery of Win10 with a Tablet OEM image partition put their HP and your PC does not have because it came with 8 Win.

At this point, your best bet is to use a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition.  This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.

In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

    Hello

Upgrade CPU won't help. You need a good map video too, and upgrade the video card on laptops is not easy as walking in a park. I don't know the product/model of your laptop, but looking at his CPU, all I can say: forget the upgrade plan and save money to buy a laptop games if you wish.
