T61p drivers

Lenovo has a piece of software that are looking for my machine obsolete drivers, give me a report and allow me to select the drivers to install automatically? I ran a third-party application on my laptop and it came back with 26 drivers 'outdated '. I try to avoid the update individually to each driver.

In addition, how to find what version of BIOS, I am running? Of course it is outdated too. Thank you.

  • T61p drivers on Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Hello

I want to upgrade my laptop to Windows 7 (64-bit) Windows XP I use (instead of slow Vista) is old enough (and only 32-bit). I found there is no drivers for a lot of thing (tried the system update, but it downloaded only a few drivers). Finally found almost all the drivers except the host controller card SD/xD/MMC (RICOH). I found only an unsigned driver, so it does not work.

    The product id is 6457-7WU.

I don't know why Lenovo does not support drivers for this model. I would expect a more portable $1700 much better support, especially when it has been provided by one if is bad operating system like Windows Vista. I am really satisfied with it. Any chance of Lenovo will update to the drivers also on this old model so I can use Windows7 64-bit (and perhaps extend the laptop with 8 GB of RAM)?

    Thank you for the answers.

So finally after the second test, I installed the laptop with all the drivers. The Lenovo system update did not help. First try: installed 3 updates from windows update, then installed an update full Lenovo Lenovo and fact system update. Then update Windows stopped working. Was still problem with a RICOH card driver, so I deleted and tried again.

It was a success way, which I finally did:

-Install Windows 7 64 bit (in my case, the most recent available professional version of MSDN, number 676939 in a built-in ISO with SP1 file name)

-Download all windows updates until you update everything

-Install the following drivers/software of the site lenovo (the driver name and the file name):

1 Ricoh card driver (7kss73ww) - I think that it is available from a different models of laptop Lenovo (R400, T400)

Integration of features Hotkey 2 (8jvu20ww)

    3 fingerprint Software (g1f812ww)

    4 fingerprint Software Patch (g1f912ww_64)

5 ThinkVantage Active Protection System (g1sk57ww)

    6 features Hotkey patch (00vu01ww)

The power management of Lenovo 7 Driver (g1ku20ww)

    8 power Manager (g6u432ww)

9 Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate software II (7zbv19ww)

After that the laptop seems fine. The display driver should be updated from windows update, but you can reinstall as the main driver. I do not installed the system update after the unrest with a first installation. It seems that it is in conflict with windows update.

  • T61p + Windows 7 64 bits + Intel AMT/drivers.

    Hi all

I recently installed Windows 7 x 64 on my T61p (6459-CTO). I installed the drivers and all devices and market very well except two:

    1. PCI serial port
    2. PCI Simple Communications controller

After a failure to find drivers for these, I googled the question and found that it is most likely associated with Intel AMT. So I tried Windows 7 for Intel AMT drivers for my laptop but I do not see everything.

I have installed and run Lenovo System Update v4 and it doesn't have picked it up while the Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox Diagnotics warn that the drivers are missing for 2 devices. However, it is not too show where to find.

There seems to be a lot of posts for the same problem for the models T400/T500 but nothing for the T61p.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I have experienced the same problem and here is my resolution for my t61p running windows 7 x 64:

Download the 2 AMT/drivers on driver lenovo site:

Local administration service and Serial Over LAN (Intel AMT 2.6)
    Windows Vista, XP

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67881

Management engine interface (Intel AMT 2.6)
    Windows Vista, XP

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67880

Let the files extract to their files (using the downloaded exe files) (C:\drivers\win\amt and \amtsol)

for the PCI Serial Port, indicate the Assistant to update driver to watch in c:\drivers\win\amtsol

for the controller PCI of communication Simple say that it resembles the c:\drivers\win\amt

He must find the missing drivers for you.

  • Clean install of Vista & SATA Drivers on a T61p

I have been given a cheapo laptop (Compaq C700T, 2 GB of RAM) and did a new install of Vista Home Premium in compatibility mode, assuming that I could install the post-installation of SATA drivers. On this machine, you cannot do so. As confirmed by the HP documentation, you must press F6 at the appropriate time during installation, and then point to a floppy or USB key to load the SATA drivers. It's back to Square One for a new facility, which worked well. Firstly next time RTFM.

I must admit, that after a few weeks of playing, I'll try Vista on a T61p critical not to missions. My question is; can I install in compatibility mode and back then SATA driver or do I have to do the same thing I did with the Compaq?

In addition, at the risk of starting a flame war, the brightness of the screen of this little POS 460 dollar Compaq breath right Samsung of the T61p out of the water. This is not true.

You should be able to install in compatibility mode and add easily afterwards, the driver.

  • Graphics drivers for Windows 7 RTM on T61p

Last night I downloaded and installed Windows 7 Professional x 64 RTM of MSDNAA and went on the time-consuming process of reinstalling all of my software.

This morning I tried to run some programs and got a 3d acceleration is disabled message. OK I download and install the driver. First I tried to download the driver of 570 m lenovo NVIDIA, but it gave me the error "this driver does not support my operating system. I went to nvidia to download the driver and downloaded the quadro fx series laptop for windows 7 x 64 driver. I thought that defnitely wouldn't work, but by my ad here, you know it didn't.

    Any ideas?

Edit: I should mention that I ran RC of Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 before and I was able to install the graphics drivers very well.

Well, I solved the problem by downloading the vista x 64 driver and by running the Setup utility. I don't know why it worked this time when she has no previous 5 times, but I can't really complain.

  • T61p with XP SP3 - SVCHOST flaws during the return of in sleep or hibernation mode network drivers fail.

    T61p product ID 64578LU

Before you install SP3, the functions of standby and Hibernate worked fine.

Now, I get an SVCHOST error message and network interfaces fail, forcing me to reboot.

I have improved the NETWORK card and readers at the latest Intel wireless.

I deleted the ThinkPAD power management tools.

I have noticed on other forums that others with Lenovo T series laptops or other manufacturing with the Intel centrinos have similar problems.

Someone has an idea, what is the question.

    The fix is quite simple.

Instructions can be found at the bottom of this blog from Google:

    http://groups.Google.com/group/Microsoft.public.dotnet.General/browse_thread/thread/9cc273eb9019f1e2...

I followed not them exactly... I stopped and disabled the WZC service, backed up the files copied to them, then "stop" and restarted.  The activated and started the auto configuration service and rebooted once more.

    Everything seems fine!

  • T61p how can I back up my hard drive

    <->Hello

My laptop out of no where would not turn on and exposes the 1 long beep and 2 short beeps with a white screen. He is 5 years old and started to act a little, so I had to replace anyway, but my question is how can I save my drive hard if I can't turn on your computer?

I read somewhere there is some type of adapter under $ 10 that plugs directly into the hard drive and then I can plug in my desktop computer... anyone know if this is true and this which is called the cord I need? Or how I could do to get my files on my hard drive?

    Thank you.

Note of the moderator; subject published

Will need you a 2.5 "USB to SATA external enclosure. You can buy some fees at most computer stores, for example the selection to computers Canada. 2 USB works perfectly although you can spend a little more for the newer and more fast USB 3 which will be on your new computer.

Once you have moved the disc again case simply plug into a USB port as if it were a USB flash drive. The operating system will recognize it, install the necessary drivers and allow you to access the help of Windows Explorer or similar.

(Note that this assumes that you does not have a hard drive on the old disk T61p password.)

  • T61p help desperately need! Can't get to reformat and fresh install Win XP

    Hi all

I have a Lenovo T61p (6459) Quadro FX 570 m mobile. It came with an installation of Windows XP Professional 32-bit OEM. I try to format the drive and am not having any success. I have not the slightest idea and if all I am doing wrong. Can anyone help?

I lifted the online instructions and followed them to the letter. I have backed up my files, discovered and fill my XP product key and serial numbers, as well as downloaded all the drivers for my Lenovo support page for my model. I borrowed a CD to install Win XP update of a parent and will enter my product key code, and the series rather than his. I loaded the installation cd in my CD-ROM drive and restarted my computer. I booted from the cd that I'm supposed to and WAITED for necessary files loaded from the disc taking me to a blue windows screen send me 3 options:

    1 install win xp

    2 repair

    3 output

I chose to install by pressing 'Enter' following the instructions but then took to a screen that informed me that the hard drive was not present and that she needed to be plugged in / installed for windows to have a place to install it. This is absurd! My machine works fine for the normal start up. My hard drive is definitely there! Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or who do I talk to to get this resolved. Thanks for any help. God bless you.

    Welcome to the forum!

Start the machine, press F1 at startup to enter the BIOS. Go to Configuration > SATA mode and change to AHCI to "Compatibility", press F10 to save and exit.

You should be good to go.

Good luck and we keep abreast.

  • T61p: Slow performance 2D

I have a new T61P with nVidia Quadro FX 570 M, on XP with the latest drivers (6.14.11.7471). Its all good except drag just windows (visible content) the discount is real slow so that I see several versions of the window I drag. I downgraded to XP as the construction of the plant of vista had the same problem and I thought that was it. Via start, right click on "computer", properties, advanced, performance... I turned off everything (except all the content of windows to be seen while dragging) and it happens again but to a lesser degree. I also disabled PowerMizer settings so that, I suppose, the GPU tracks are full speed. In addition, the laptop power setting is on "Maximum Performance". 3D performance looks very good. Processor and disk are not occupied. Any idea what is the problem? Clock GPU or CPU, bad drivers, config? Any help would be appreciated thank you. Waste.

With nTune I stuck the bus GPU core and memory to factory settings (475 / 702 MHz)... and it seems to work very well.

The automatic speed reduction seems to have been the main issue.

    I'll leave it here.

  • T61p Insta-Shutdown! :(

    Hi all

    QuickSpecs:
    I have a Lenovo T61p here type 6457.
It is the one with the Quadro FX 570 M videocard.
I installed it with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and Windows XP Pro SP3 32 Bit

All latest drivers have been completely installed, DirectX 9 June .0c and the latest graphics drivers from Nvidia.

    Problem:
He sometimes everything stops without warning, just 'off' without any form of warning or sound.
I do not turn it off 'click' from the hard drive but it does whenever you turn it off normally too.
Then when I turn it on again it usually starts to windows and I can do just about everything.
Go on the internet, go through my music, using office and other... No problem at all!

    When it happens:
There are times during the boot that puts the laptop in a loop, but it ALWAYS happens when I try something that takes into account the video card.

When I run 3Dmark 06 ' it stops immediately as soon the test begins.
Also, when I try to play a DVD movie it crashes every time that the movie starts.

This looks like a videocard related question for me.

    What I tried:
All latest drivers have been installed as indicated above.
The problem that happens under XP and 7 so I'm clear enough, this is a unwanted material.
I swapped batteries and adapter, tried another (R60) disk hard 80 GB.
To make sure that is not a related problem of heat I cleaned the fan under the keyboard that has been completely cleaned and shows no sign of too hot gettings.
Tried to update to the latest version of the bios too, factory missed the bios of course.

    Publishes:
    1. tried another memory, also does not resolve this although it crashed just 30 seconds later instead of instantly.
2 TPfancontrol said less than 50 degrees Celsius for the CPU and the GPU.

    So, what can I do?
I don't have the money to get it fixed now.
    Help, please!

    Danny

  • T61p will not identify new SATA drive

    Hello

I recently bought a drive Seagate Momentus 7200 RPM 320 Gig - http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/datasheet/disc/ds_momentus_7200_3.pdf (on sale at Best Buy for $99 - who could resist that?)

If the disc in the drive Bay, it works perfectly - Vista sees the complete concert 320 and it works without a doubt faster than my main 5400 RPM 160 Gig of support. However, if I install the drive as primary, the laptop does not start at all - the BIOS does not see the drive. I checked in the BIOS - the only SATA setting I have is to toggle between 'AHCI' and 'Compatibility Mode' and in each framework, I get the same result - the BIOS does not recognize the drive.
