Taking my Xoom at the pool

Hello comrades Xoom owners.

Doc here with the latest news from my lab. My kids love the pool now that it is open, but how can I take advantage of the afternoon without my Xoom? Taking along seems quite risky, because a good by a stocky teenager unsuspecting Cannonball could fry my electronic Sidekick. So I was very happy when I found this awesome watertight flashlight which allows me to enjoy my experience with Xoom poolside without a worry about the pool next Tsunami. As a bonus, I can now bring my Xoom along on my boat and watch the jet of the dance of the waves through the new case to my Xoom. I tested the touch screen through the sticky vinyl cover soft and I can honestly say there is no difference at ALL (really surprised me). I wanted to check how the hermetic enclosure could affect heat, so I ran my Xoom for two hours tonight in the Pocket without any problem of heat whatsoever. Of course, you can not connect cables (who would?), but BT, WiFi and 3G everything work perfectly (no change of signal). And both of my stylus pens work perfectly as well. It also comes with a strap to wear it around the neck, but I'm not much of a geek!

Here's the shelter waterproof daring all near the water source:

Angle of view of the envelope:

Notice the locks DOUBLE zip (they are heavy as well) that fold under the lid snap and velcro:

The waterproof bag comes with its own cloth zippered soft case, so you can keep it to get scratched when it is not in use. I forgot at the origin of this practical advantage, but I think it's an add-on to the manufacturer.

If you don't want to leave your precious home Xoom while sunbathe you by the pool (and read Kindle books like me that plays games for children), then check this for a simple $23,49 on Amazon:

Gizmo Xoom just another great from my lab for better shelf life. Maybe I should work on a version of my brainwave Analyzer BT then?

  • Merger of the pools

    Hello!

I need to merge storage pools for balancing between the members. Can I safely merge pools while volumes are presented (for ESXi and VMs)?

Yes, you can merge safe pools while the volumes are under tension.  Just a few things to check everything first, to make sure you have a free fusion of trouble:

In the pool that you merge, you want to check the speed of rotation of the disk to make sure the target pool members that same RAID level that you merge the members.  (Dell recommends that the members of the pool with the same speed of rotation of disk have the same RAID level).  For example, if a target pool contains a member that has a 7200 RPM drives configured for RAID10, and one of the members of the pool merging has a member of 7200 RPM configure for RAID50.

Thin clones inherit the setting of the pool of the volume model. If you move the model volume to another pool, thin clones also move.

  • UCS KVM issues, must remove a pool and let the pool questions

We currently have multiple pools in our model and recently a new blade from the last pool that has been added, and we cannot have it use as it is in a different subnet from the FI.  KVM will not work in this case.

Thus, management fired one IP address of this pool, and the KVM does not connect because it is on a different subnet as the FI.  We want to remove this pool, so this does not happen and reset this blade is on the other subnet 10.1.0.xxx which will allow the KVM start work. And we do not want to provoke the interruption of all the machines that run on this blade, since it's production.

My question is really, if we remove that pool, the blade will automatically happen to other existing pools?

What happens to the other KVM on the slides that currently use the pool for a KVM to this POOL session we want to remove?

As seen in the screenshot, we have blade, 1 and 2 have a kvm fired him.  Blade 3 and UCS8 is the new blade and must be handed over to another pool.  What happens if this pool is deleted in this scenario?

    See screenshot.

If you remove the ext-mgt-pool (for external access of MMIC), the IP address are removed immediately from the MMIC. No restart of the server, nor MMIC. You can set a new position-mgt-pool, and an IP address is automatically assigned to each blade.

  • How to increase the size of the Pool of Bean Java Message for Weblogic 10.3.6

    People,

We use Weblogic 10.3.6, as part of our OAM - OID, SSO EBS solution.

One of the recommendation that we had was to increase the Pool of Bean Java default Message size 100 to 250.

I don't know where to go for this increase.

We have 2 WebLogic servers, once for the OID and the other for OAM.

    Any help will be appreciated.

I've seen some info on the update file in weblogic-ejb - jar.Xml.

But there are several instances of this file I think, I can make this change via the Weblogic console?

    Thanks for your help

    Ashish

    Ashish

It is to increase the size of the pool or OAM? Actually, is there a way to do it through the console. My bad!

    Then, you can try:

WLS Server Console Admin :-> click deployments--> oam_server-> scroll down to what appears to oam_server-> ControllerMessageBean-> ControllerMessageBean click on-> click on the Configuration tab-> change the value to 250

    I hope this helps.

  • "The memory resources available in the pool of resources of the parent are insufficient for the operations." ... Really?

    Hello

We have three virtual machines on a host computer. They need to be pinned to this host and with reserved memory: 1 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB.

We are talking about 13 GB of RAM on a physical server that has 16 GB of physical RAM.

When I Power On last VM, I get the following error:

"The memory resources available in the pool of resources of the parent are not enough for the operation."

I have a second host with the same size of memory and use reach 14GB of memory.

I know that each virtual machine wants more memory than what we have configured, but I would like to know if it's a "bug" or

something we can fix via vCenter configuration, or we really need more physical memory.

Please find attached the config of memory for the virtual machine and the host State.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Host needs some memory as well for things like vmkernel, drivers and other components and you will not be able to touch this area with reserves of VM. It is not a bug, more like a fuse. You will not be allowed to book all of the physical RAM to VMs and / or resource pools.

In your case, you should either decrease the reserves (why are you booking 100% memory for your virtual machines? What you're trying to achieve with this setting? Is it an obligation of the seller to App?) or increase the amount of physical RAM on the host.

Of course this depends on your specific requirements and management policies of the resources, but in most cases I've seen, reservations are only affected when there is a heavy statement memory and using actions alone is not enough. Even so, reservations are usually configured only for very high priority / criticality VMs and not 100%, but rather a little before "stable / persistent peak memory Active" value. F.x. If a particular virtual machine has more mem use regularly on Wednesday 1-3 PM and memory active value for this period is 3 GB, a reservation is usually set to something like 4GB.

    I hope this helps.

  • Send-LinkedCloneRecompose is not updated to the Image on the pool name

    Hi all

Using the command "Send LinkedCloneRecompose", everything seems to work properly:

    • The PS command indicates that the workstations will recompose (watch, unchanged VMs: 0).
    • The pool has a task to reconstruct for all desktop computers.
    • Pool tasks window shows that the action recompose for the correct snapshot.
    • A new replica is created in vSphere.
    • Desktop computers are recomposed OK.

    Get-pool-Pool_id "$poolID" | Get-DesktopVM | Send-LinkedCloneRecompose - ParentVMPath "$parentPath" - ParentSnapshotPath "newSnapPath" - annex ((Get-Date).) AddMinutes (1)) - forceLogoff $false - stopOnError $true

    Problem:

    • Check information pool in view administrator, the name of "The Image" shows again the old cliché– it is obviously incorrect. This would normally change to the new name of snapshot if the operation recompose is performed from within the Administrator display.
    • Using Powershell to query pool information, the same details appear - the old name of the snapshot is written.

      > Get-pool-Pool_id "$poolID".

      >...

      > parentVMSnapshotPath: * original old cliché way *.

      >...

So, is this a bug? Can it be reproduced, or - is this a problem that I am experiencing?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Using LinkedCloneRecompose-sending does not update the configuration of the pool - it reconstructs only the virtual machines to the specified image.

You must use the command Update-AutomaticLinkedClonePool, use it as below only would change the parent VM and snapshot leaving all other pool settings as they are.

Run presents first, and then use the send-LinkedCloneRecompose to rebuild the VMs system to the last image.

    Update-AutomaticLinkedClonePool-pool_id «$poolID' - '$parentPath' parentVMPath - parentSnapshotpath «newSnapPath»

    Get-pool-Pool_id "$poolID" | Get-DesktopVM | Send-LinkedCloneRecompose - ParentVMPath "$parentPath" - ParentSnapshotPath "newSnapPath" - annex ((Get-Date).) AddMinutes (1)) - forceLogoff $false - stopOnError $true

  • Unable to create the pool of IP required for configuration VXLAN using the API REST NSX

Basically, I want to configure VXLAN using the REST API. To set up VXLAN, VMKNic IP addressing accepts DHCP or IP Pool. I decided to go with Pool of IP.

To create a Pool of IP "NSX-DEV-IPPOOL-01', I used the REST APIs.»

    POST https:// < nsx - ip > /api/2.0/services/ipam/pools/scope/ < id data center >

    < ipamAddressPool >

    < name > NSX-IP-POOL-02 < / name >

    < LG > 24 < / LG >

    < gateway > 10.99.134.1 < / gateway >

    < startAddress > 10.99.134.225 < / startAddress >

    < endAddress > 10.99.134.229 < / endAddress >

    < / ipRangeDto >

    < / Plages_ip >

    < / ipamAddressPool >

Now I can see the Pool of IP in vCenter under NSX Manager-> [NSX-Manager-IP]-> manage-> object-> Pools of IP group.

    nsx_ipPools.png

But when configuring VXLAN, no IP pool is present.

    nsx_configurev_xlan.png

Y at - it all the additional steps required after the addition of pool of IP using the REST API?

    Thanks in advance.

Remove the existing IP pool.  Then recreate the pool by using the API, but instead of using with globalroot-0.

  • Impossible to select the host for the pool, can only select Cluster

    Hello

I try to assess the view and go into the Guide of the evaluators.  When I set up the parameters of resource under the vCenter part settings of the linked Clone Pool where I'm supposed to be able to select a host or a Cluster, I have only the option to select my (not an individual host) cluster.  The problem is that not all hosts in my cluster have access to the SAN that I use for this assessment, so I wanted to be able to isolate the pool to a single host.  Is there some kind of trick to get the hosts present themselves individually?  The hosts are 5.5 ESXi and vCenter vCenter 5.5 Standard

    Thank you

    Dylan

You can only select the cluster. "Host or a cluster" refers to the fact that if you have a stand-alone Host which is not in a cluster, you can use - so you'd have to move the host you want to use on a stand-alone host or in its own cluster.

  • No option of RDP on the pools

I'm on a Macbook Air (OS X 10.10.2).) I have the Horizon View Client (3.2) installed and Microsoft Remote Desktop (8.0.17)

When I look at any pool office there is no possibility to choose of RDP. It is not even appear as an option. Go to the settings of the pool shows that PCoIP. This option is displayed correctly on Windows clients.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Found the answer. It took to install Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 2.1.1 for RDP work in the Horizon View Client. Later versions do not work.

  • User with multiple rights to the pool, opens a session automatically on a specific pool

I have a user with 2 + benefits pool - when it connects to a zero client, it is automatically connected to a desktop computer in one of the pools (let's call it 'Pool-A'), rather than receive a selection of pool screen.  If it is deleted from the Active Directory the right to 'Pool-A' group, then it is presented with the selection of normal pool screen.  As soon as it is added to the Active Directory group, his account is automatically connection to a desktop 'Pool-a' again.  What would cause this?  Other users the right to several pools (including a ' pool-A') receive pool selection screen, as I know that it is only this account of a user who is almost like an account of "kiosk".

Any ideas or things to check? I already checked the connection's server/pool tags...

It seems that the user can check the automatic connection to the desktop of a Windows Client (maybe?)

This is a good post on this subject. It may be interesting to check:

PCoIP zero client does not display an Horizon view Client user of the window for one (and only one)

    See you soon,.

  • View 6 - Add Server 2008 R2 Desktop to the pool - "VM with OS invited not supported"

    Hello

I need to install a new server connection view because we have improved the vCenter Server 5.5, the view do not allow migration to a new server vCenter Server.

So my plan is to "unplug" all work stations of the old server connection view (if necessary) and add them to the new connection to the server view.

We use computers to desktop to Server 2008 R2, but if I try to add to the inventory view tells me "VM with guest operating system not supported.

How can I add them to the pool / inventory?

    In the admin UI:

    Display Configuration-> global settings-> General-> desktop computers activate Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • Change the DNS settings in the Pool of IP network

    Hello

Due to a migration of our DNS servers, I have to change the IP addresses of the DNS servers defined in the (currently used) our BDE server IP pools. There is a Hadoop cluster with a large amount of data running using this pool and I do not have to deploy the cluster again. Restart of the cluster is not matter, so I planned the settings DNS for the cluster nodes have to change after reboot. Unlikely, I could not change the DNS settings. Is there a way (perhaps non-elegant) change those settings for the pool?

    See you soon,.

    Dustin

    Hi Dustin,

BDE provides the interface to change the DNS server in the network added to the BDE.  You must change the BDE database to do.  Here is the solution:

1 Server BDE connect you as user serengeti

    2. run this command: echo ' network dns1 set update = 'the_new_dns_server_ip' where name = 'the_network_name '; \q" | psql

    3. apply the new DNS server. There are two approach. You can choose one.

    (a) connection BDE CLI and run "cluster stop - name...". ' and 'start cluster - name... '. "to restart the virtual machines in the cluster, then the new DNS server will be applied.

    (b) on BDE server, run "serengeti - ssh.sh cluster_name " sudo sed-i of | nameserver. * | nameserver the_new_dns_server_ip| ' g' / etc/etc/resolv.CONF. The new DNS server should take effect immediately.

    Thank you for using BDE.
