  • Taskbar and icons on Windows Vista disappearing after a certain period of time. Why!

I noticed that if I leave my PC running for an hour or more unattended (even with my screensaver on and the monitor off), that the icons in the taskbar and the desktop will disappear off the screen when I go back and try to use it.  The only thing I can do is to move my mouse and open some things by right-clicking the mouse, but what is it.  I have no other choice than to make a difficult stop (hold the power button until the PC turns off).  If it helps, my PC is a Dell Inspiron 531 that runs on Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - Bit.  At first, I thought it was a problem caused by Internet Explorer 9 (that I have long eliminated from my PC and thankfully returned IE8), but I was wrong.  In addition, my antivirus program is Norton 360, and I run almost religiously to combat ill will on my PC.  If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.

ADD: Also, after the desktop and the taskbar icons disappear when I try to bring up the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del, the screen goes black and I can just press ESC to return to the white (except for my desktop wallpaper) desktop computer.  Again, any help will be appreciated.

    Hello

1 did you changes to the software to the computer before the show?

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem is solved or not. If the problem persists not perform the clean boot.

Was: start the computer in safe mode.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Start your computer in SafeMode (Windows Vista)

    B: Perform the clean boot

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: perform step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

  • Why my taskbar and icon on my desk blinking?

This bug started happening for me and I found no solutions on how to fix this. My task bar continues to blink every few minutes as well as the icons on my desktop (I'm not sure how to describe it but it's like it's refreshing himself even with my icons on my desktop it disappears and reappears a second). Also when I move my icons from the original place that they go back to original when my desktop and task bar flicker/blink. I think that this is the reason why my games keep minimizing when im playing in full screen, also while im watching a long youtube video I click on full screen my taskbar and I have to click the chrome icon in my taskbar to disappear. Then after a few minutes it seems once again. Is this some kind of virus? I tried a lot of solutions such as the search for viruses etc and nothing worked her gives me a headache.

Thanks for the reply. I was unable to perform the specified task.  Had to buy the CD of restoration of the manufacturer.  Problem solved.

These pages contain many areas of text.

How could I do to make it faster?

Could make these pages loaded have been loaded "behind" so hidden?

  • Pavilion P6207c: Hp mediasmart empty icon in the taskbar and icon missing in hp dock

I restarted my computer and my HP Mediasmart icon in the taskbar is empty, when I click on it windows says it can't open because that its been moved, renamed or deleted. But the show task up if I right click on it like watch a dvd, listen to mp3's, see, modify or download photos, see modify or download videos. (all links in the task too much work) Then trying to understand the problem, that I thought I could basically icon/link to pull a bit of my HP Dock in the taskbar hoping it would be duplicate and appear in the taskbar. But to the contrary after leaving the dock and release the mouse button, it disappeared. How do I trouble the white icon and pick up the other icon in the dock? I pulled the HP Mediasmart icon directory .exe file and it is stuck in the dock, but it works the same. The original had an arrow below and if I clicked it, a drop-down list with all tasks would come down. With that I pulled from the directory that I have to click on it and then a new bar appears with different icons for each task.

Well I solved the problem with the taskbar, I downloaded the hp mediasmart smartmenu, went into the directory and PIN to the taskbar. But I still can't one of the docking station will work as before.

    @enimen2 ,

Hi and thanks again for the rear display.  If you can do it is no longer a restoration following options is a complete recovery of the system, return to the original configuration.  You want to back up all your information before you do.  Once it starts it will wipe your system clean.

    Hello

Let's focus on the system that we started with, if the problems are the same, then you can then apply the same solution to the laptop.

If you feel that OneCare is the cause, uninstall it. First disable its load entries (whether through msconfig, autoruns or HJT), reboot and then uninstall it. See if that helps to solve the problems.

As for SFC, usually you don't see anything once you click . Simply, it is running and returns to the command prompt when you are finished. You need to enable him to do this, and this can take considerable time. When I use it, I start and then tend to something else while it is running.

Why does take so long to load from the time wherever I power up until it takes to get to the login screen? help taking too long

You should take a look at your startup programs and decide what is really necessary and what is nothing more than useless clutter. There is nothing wrong with the startup programs, some may be really useful or even necessary for your personal needs. But keep in mind that many programs build to start when you start the computer and that most of them must not start when the computer starts, all they do is slow down your boot time and clutter of things when you're trying to solve problems, and some are downright harmful!

I mean, have you really need things like real Planner and Gadwin Print Screen running all the time? These programs will run very well, even if they are not started automatically every time that you start the computer. Go to these programs and change/disable their boot option. Some may be difficult to kill for public assistance services can be useful when you try to control startup programs. Try CodeStuff Starter, it's safe and easy to use, I think you'll like it, download it here:

    http://CodeStuff.tripod.com/products_starter.html>

Use AutoRuns to check axis start, Richard:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx>

    Use Cclenar-> tools-> start

    http://www.CCleaner.com/download/builds.aspx>

I can't tell you what to keep, startup items it is a personal preference, but pretty well all the startup items indicated by CodeStuff Starter are safe to disable, and changes are easy to reverse if you change your mind. Searches for items it shows you and decide whether or not these things are really useful or necessary. Some programs will be started at startup without your knowledge and over time, that list can expand to include useless parasites, part of good computer maintenance includes regular control of these startup items and the removal of the unnecessary.

Suggest that you first spread malware as the cause of the problem by following these steps:

    I. - delete your temporary files

Clean the system (compensation to all temp/tmp folders and included all the content offline, the tif browser, delete the cookies of compensation.)

Do a disk cleanup. Click the Start button. in the search box, type disk cleanupand then in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup. Better and easier to use - ccleaner.

Download the basic version (slim) via

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner/builds>

The basic version (slim) does not contain the toolbar disgusted

DO NOT USE ANY cleaning of the advanced options. DO NOT TOUCH THE REGISTRY OR TOOLS. At least not for now.

    Reset

II. - have your system scanned as a result of security/antivirus installed.

III. - download, install, update and run both of these tools to a-squared free scans:
