• Excel spreadsheet Voodoo

  Hi all

  For a job/hrs. paid should I fill out my information in an excel spreadsheet.

  As soon as I get a number of hours worked in say D2 a triangle of red error appears where there is a formula that is not happy.

  The error says "Argument 1 of the TOUR expects a number, but the cell contains a date." Even if the cell in question has requested an hour in 15:00 format I entered. ???

  The second thing is that the spreadsheet I use was sent to me by a PC person who says I use an older version of the form and that is the problem. However, I use the updated version, she sends me every time, by clicking on it with the mail to open in number. For some reason, either at the end or mine numbers back to the original version of the document when you open or save after I have sent him filled form. Or some other Voodoo that happens.

  Excel and numbers to deal with date and time values differently. Each method has its own advantages.  The differences may be causing your problem.

  If you work frequently with users of Excel, you can consider using Excel for Mac.  Although numbers can import/export from/to Excel it is not designed to be an Excel "clone".

  Meanwhile, according to the formula that gives your problem and maybe there is a quick fix that works in your case.

  I see that you are not abel to open a Numbers spreadsheet and get the error in quotes. This sounds like this document is defined for collaboration. Collaboration for numbers is explained in the following support article: collaboration for Pages, Numbers and Keynote

• Numbers are perpetually my 18MO spreadsheet calculation.  All solutions?

  After that I added in other new formulas, it happens suddenly.

  I thought that by removing some unused leaves, it could improve, but nothing has changed.

  Any suggestions?  My numbers worksheet is 17.8 MB and I'm running a MBA 13 "mid-2013 with a processor 1.7GHZ Intel i7, 8 GB memory and 13 GB of free space on HDD.

  Numbers are not designed to handle large volumes of data or large tables. It is specified the maximum size is 255 columns by 65535 lines, but it will become unusable long before they reach the limit of the lines. Part of the problem is that the numbers automatically recalculates each change to a table, a feature that cannot be disabled.

  I did a little test with one piece of sheet with four tables, each 9 5112 lines columns, as well as a single-column table 10 lines.

  Large tables had the same formula in each cell: = RAND () * 100

  Each cell also had four rules of conditional highlighting that filled a color that depends on the value in the cell in the cell.

  The smallest table had formulas allowing to find the values of minimum, maximum and AVERAGE in four large tables, as well as the SUM of the values in a table and a count of the number of times the minimum value in one of the tables occurred in another tables.

  Calculation was triggered by activating / deactivating a checkbox and took about 24 seconds to complete.

  The size of this worksheet when recording as a file is 7.1 MB.

  For large files, numbers are not the best tool. Try one of the office applications open source (LibreOffice, Apache, OpenOffice), or MS Excel.

  No, but it is possible to create this look.

  

  Procedure:

  Open a table.

  Format > table

  Check the alternative line color. The yellow value.

  Click the form button, select the rectangle.

  Click the shape to select it.

  Format > Style

  Set the fill color to green.

  The border value without border.

  Move the shape to align with the upper left corner of the table.

  Drag the handle at the bottom right of the form to the lower right of the table.

  Go to organize > Send to back (or backward and repeat until the form is behind the table, and the Green shape is visible through the non colored lines).

  Note that the form is independent of the table. If the lines are added to the table, alternating lines will continue to have the yellow filling, as it has been applied to the table itself, but the lines between indicate white background, until the shape is expanded to match the size of the table.

  

  Select the Table (by clicking on the 'target' at the top left.

  Go arrange > Send backward. (Repeat if necessary until the form is in the front of the table)

  Select the shape.

  Resized according to the table.

  Go arrange > Send backward.

  Is it possible to limit the command find / replace for a selected table or spreadsheet (tab). When I try, search numbers in the entire workbook (all tabs). Excel do not have this limitation. Super annoying, especially since the soft seems to jump from a tab to the tab before answering all the tables in a tab.

  Short answer: feature not available.

  By the numbers, "Worksheet", short for "spreadsheet" refers to the entire document, which may contain several "leaves", each of which can be consulted by clicking its tab at the top of the workspace.

  With the previous version, Numbers ' 09 (version 2.x) Find could be confined to the sheet current, or could search the entire Document. This feature (and many others) did not appear in the new numbering.

  Many extra features have been added to the new application, and have added several new (and useful) features that were not in Numbers ' 09.

  Unfortunately, the possibility of limiting a search to a single sheet or a single table is not (yet) a feature support 3 digit.

  If you want added, go to the menu number (in numbers), select provide feedback numbers and make your request.

  Sorry, it's not Apple applications, but they are free downloads, and once again, open source programs.

  The problem had been solved, but I was not sure what he did. It reoccured recently and I decided to investigate a little more. He seems to have had a problem with my GPU (AMD Radeon HD 6950). Update the drivers (even once, since they had been cancelled for some reason any) has fixed this problem. The previous version of the driver that had this problem was 14.4

  When you have the Google map you open expected to be able to create a bookmark as you would with any other page.

  • Open the Google spreadsheet
  • Click on the bookmark Star button. This will create the bookmark.
  • Click on the bookmark Star button again and you can place the bookmark where you want (IE. Bookmarks bar) by clicking the drop-down folder list.

  Now you should be able to click this bookmark and go right to the Google map. The bandages below will give you a Visual to follow. Hope that helps.

  I understand that, while you are able to open your documents in number, you are not able to make changes, once they are open. You may need to check that the content of your worksheet have not got locked, as detailed below.

  Unlock: Select one or more objects, and then choose layout > unlock.

  You can also select one or more objects, click on tab reorder at the top of the sidebar on the right, then click on lock or unlock (near the bottom of the sidebar). If you do not see a sidebar or sidebar is not a tab to rearrange, click on in the toolbar.
