Tecra 8200 will not boot - Frezzes on WIN XP startup screen

My 8200 does not start. It works for about 10 seconds (GETS past the screen toshiba then on the winxp splash screen and freezes.)
Just before that, the screen flickers and then crashes.
any ideas?

Hello

What about new installation of the operating system is Windows XP on the laptop?
Is it possible to install the new OS?
If it is not possible to s and installation installation fails then I guess that it s a hardware problem.
Maybe something wrong with the RAM, HDD, or as suggested above with graphics impossible is nothing

    I worked on the machine to get to start XP. Sometimes it will boot in Safe Mode, but most of the time (and when it does not start in 'normal' mode), it crashes with a blue screen. The blue screen flashes fast to read, and then the machine tries to restart.
    Once I do start safe mode and got WIndows update but can't update due to the update that needs to be in normal mode.
    I was able to install Malwarebytes and a full scan. Also installed Spybot S & D and performed a full scan.

    When it does not start in normal mode it is slow, very slow. I tried rkill and it causes the machine down.

  • Elite 8200 will not boot XP CD

    One branch just a few computers HP Elite 8200 us with i3 processors.  Beautiful machines, but for the life of me I can't have our XP CD to boot from it.  I changed the boot order to boot from CD first and tried to manually start CD with no luck.

    Is there something special that I'm missing?  I can boot to PXE however.

    I understand.

    We are the same here. must use XP for commercial purposes.

    He me bugs without end, why is this issue of CD/DVD.

    There is something defintely goofy and I don't know what it is.

    My Blu - Ray DVD is the latest firmware. I even deleted and installed a former plain DVD - RW. No help.

    I have the latest version of the BIOS installed also. I turned off in the BIOS boot manager and that did not help.

    I hope that someone reported it and there may be a revision of BIOS on the way.  We are not the only 2 people out there with this problem.

  • Computer now put in hibernation, Vista will not boot. Computer stuck on black screen after startup. Help?

    I put my computer on 'Hibernate' when I went to bed. When I woke up, I started the computer learned to manufacturer (HP) computer screen introduction as usual, but windows doesn't not load afterwards, as he usually does: I just get a black screen. Lights supply and all the rest are on. Just nothing happens. Any ideas?

    Can I use the firmware from HP (I guess that's what it is) to confirm that my memory and hard drive are very good. I tried Googling the problem, and some signs indicate a problem with the powercfg parameter. I can't get in cmd.exe to reset because I can't get into windows (although through HP firmware, I can enter in "Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe - cmd", which seems the same, but the orders that I see offered on websites do not seem to work - help?). Ditto with Safe Mode. I don't have Vista installation disc.

    I put the new drive hard at in the BIOS setting, I chose to boot from USB... USB is recognized as it appears on the screen of the BIOS. I disabled the LAN option as it gives me PXE error... Follow the steps below:

    Method 1:

    Try to start the computer using the last good known Configuration and check if you can successfully start.

    For instructions, see How to start your computer by using last good Configuration known as Windows XP .

    My friend tried to jailbreak his ipod. Now his PC will not boot the OS. It will go to the screen with the options to choose each time you start upward into the safe, normally last good known etc.. I try to start the recovery console, but then I get a blue screen that gives the same spiel, then this Stop error message:

    Or, if you just want to back up your data and do a clean install:

    1 remove the drive and put it in a box of USB drive or use a USB adapter. Attach it to a computer that is running a working XP/Vista/Windows7 installation. Use the work of Windows Explorer to copy the data to the hard drive of the system to the rescue and burn data on cd or dvd, or copy it to an external hard drive. I prefer not to do it if I know the drive is infected because he has a chance to infect your host system. In these cases, I use #2 below.

    2. you can start the computer target with a Bart PE (XP only) or Linux Livecd such as Knoppix or Ubuntu and retrieve the data in this way. This has the additional advantage to tell you if the problems you are experiencing are hardware or software related because if the computer behaves perfectly in Linux, you know that Windows (software) is the culprit. Conversely, if the computer behaves badly under Linux, you will know that there is a hardware problem. This is general information on the use of Knoppix for the recovery of data when you do not have Windows:

    You will need a computer with two cd records, one of which is an engraver of CD/DVD OR a USB thumb drive with enough capacity to contain your data OR an external USB hard drive. Download Knoppix .iso image file and create your bootable CD *. If you do this in a previous (XP or Vista) operating system, you will need the third burning like Nero, Roxio or freeImgBurn software (Windows 7 can burn .isos natively). Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Then boot with the CD that you created and the Windows files will be visible under Linux. If you want to burn CD/DVD, there will be a Linux burning program to use.

    * If your computer has only an optical drive and you want to use this drive to burn data or need to test drive, you can create a USB bootable Linux instead of a bootable CD. This site will show you how to do it-http://www.pendrivelinux.com

  • Cloning hard drive with Clonezilla failed, gave a bad sector error message and now the original hard drive will not boot

    Original title: startup problem

    I tried cloning from my hard drive with Clonezilla, and he gave me a bad sector error.  I have since run the hard drive test in bios and it passed.  Anyway, clone has failed, and now the original hard drive will not boot.  My dvd player won't turn when I try to load the Vista repair CD (Vista Home Premium 32 bit).  Clonezilla removes the start settings for the original disc?  And if so, how can I restore it?  The computer starts just a black screen with a cursor at the top left.  When I install the hard drive in a box and connect it to another computer, it shows the partitions and files all seem to be there.

    Hi DougEisenmann,

    Clonezilla is not supported by Microsoft.

    If you are unable to boot from the Vista repair disk then you will need to go into the system BIOS and make sure that it is configured to boot from the DVD drive.

  • Vista will not boot

    Since auto-updates 2nd week of February 2010, my PC will not boot.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.
    System restore steps according to the info above.
    Also:
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    If this will not help then a CD/DVD drive problem could be the reason why don't not all disks are readable.
