Tecra A4 sometimes does not start

Hi all!

A few months ago, I dropped my Tecra A4 - stupid of me, I know. The hard drive has been damaged without remedy, so I bought a new one, plugged in and set up my laptop again, and it worked fine.

Last week, however, I went to turn it on - and it didn't. I just got the black screen BEFORE the Toshiba logo, and nothing else has happened. After that, I tried to reformat, recovery, System Restore, etc and nothing seems to work. I can get the HD to start with a strong pressure on the laptop, which makes me think it's a problem of connection between the HARD drive and the card mother, but then again - no way to verify.

Anyone had a similar experience, or can offer suggestions? I'm a student so I can't really afford a new laptop.

Thank you!

Hello

In my opinion this malfunction is the result of the laptop down.
Who knows what may be damage. Everything looks like something wrong with the motherboard, but maybe what it s just a little, tiny part that hurt so bad.

However, the fault is found only by a technician of the laptop. I would recommend so contact the service provider in your country for a control.

By the way; have you tried to remove the battery and unplug the power adapter for a while? Not? Well, I would recommend this doing.
Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter and wait several minutes (about 20 min). Then connect everything again and tries to start the machine.
Maybe it helps.

  • Tecra A11 - 11N does not start after upgrading CPU

    Hello

I would like to do an upgrade of the processor for my Tecra A11 i5 - 430 M 11N to a probably much faster i5 processor. I thought that the i5 - 580 M'd, but the laptop does not start when I installed this processor.

I started the 430M, done some research on the internet and discovered that the 580 M has a very high FSB speed, and that is what probably does not work / not compatible with my machine.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/43537/
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/49653
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/49652

    and also http://ark.intel.com/

Now, I went back to the computer store, returned the 580M and got an i5 - 560 M compared to its specifications as I've seen it would not compatible because it has the same speed of the FSB with the 430 M.

I then later in the day tried to install this cpu as an upgrade, BUT alas!
It STILL does not START ALSO.
I was dumfounded left. The processors in the same line of the family are supposed to be compatible between them provided: lithography, FSB and socket type are similar.

    Or what I'm missing here?
I did upgrades of CPU in many cases for desktop computers and laptops, and this is the first that has left me with no word to say!

    Please offer assistance or advice.

    Hello

Recommend to check this doc from Toshiba:

+ Can I put th CPU, screen, or motherboard in my Toshiba laptop? +
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ35006D000RR01.htm

Upgrading the CPU is not supported (officially).
The point is that, even if the chipset would support the new processor, it would be possible that the laptop wouldn't start because of compatibility problems between the BIOS or other components on the motherboard and the new processor.

  • Tecra M4-S435 does not start

My Tecra M4-S435 will not start.
When I turn it on, all I hear is a quick check of the DVD player, a hum of hard drive and fan.
I don't see anything on the screen at any time. I tried an external monitor and still see nothing.

Is this a failure of hard drive, the screen failure or something else?

    > That could tell if pulling the battery for 30 minutes he gets to start? (I have not tried with my original Tecra, but I will soon... I just have to put a hard drive in it first...)

I m not very well, but I guess that the BIOS would be defined default value that could help solve this problem.
I had this similar problem with my Toshiba laptop not and the same workaround helped also

  • Fan of Satellite U500 - 11 c sometimes does not start running Win 7 64 bit

    Hello

I have two Toshiba Satellite U500 - 11 c on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Sometimes, after a new start of Windows, the fans start and just run a few seconds sometimes. When this occurs, the CPU temperature gets very hot (do not know exactly how much). I found a way to return to a behavious normal just unplug the power cable and reconnect it just a second or two after.

Two laptop computers have the latest Bios and drivers of Toshiba. Somehow, it's the same behavious as under Linux.

With these experiences, I just thought that Toshiba laptop are not well properly handle ACPI Fans and tempartures. Is it really inevitable?

I hope that this feedback can help...

    Hi mate

Cooling modules are controlled by the fan which is stored in the BIOS table.
Fan table contains details and information when and how fast a fans should run.

Besides computers laptop Toshiba supports protection against overheating. This protection monitors the temperature, and if the temperature is too high, the laptop turns off automatically.

If the laptop does not turn off automatically then I suppose that the temperature is not too high

    Hello

If the start of the BIOS (or Toshiba) screen does not appear, it means that a serious motherboard hardware problem can cause this RAM modules or malfunctioning CPU would be possible
Recommends checking the memory RAM and CPU modules
The RAM modules could be replaced easily but it of difficult to replace the CPU and test it. Therefore, it would be a job for a technicians for laptop

  • Tecra M2 - Windows does not start correctly

My computer recently crashed and I suspect that this has affected the BIOS. I believe that the cause was a hardware problem or Trojan horse, as when the computer is restarted it will fail to load the BIOS at all 9/10 of the time. I found the Toshiba Tecra M2 BIOS V1.50 and it says it takes V0.06.00 of Modules common Toshiba, which was more difficult to find and could not solve the problem. Installation of an updated BIOS failure as well.

For now, Windows loads up with lines running down the screen; When the windows startup failed and by displaying the "Windows did not start successfully screen', some letters are altered," soory for you e afconvenaence, but Wandows dad ngt star ^ correctlq'. "

A new installation of Windows has failed to achieve anything more. If anyone has an idea how to solve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello!

I think that it is a problem of material caused by the BIOS or the graphics card.

However, it s not able to change the graphics card because it s soldered onto the system board.

Perhaps an ASP can help you and do a downgrade from the BIOS, but I think that you need a new mainboard.

    Good bye

  • My office is behaving strangely, slow, sometimes does not start Windows.

    * Original title: strange

OK, so I have a desktop with Windows 7 installed above as my users families. My family tends to put viruses or other forms of malware on the desktop as they constantly plugging their friends drive etc. Last week my office just behaved strangely, running slow, sometimes not start Windows and even run checkdisk on each reboot. I have however to discover the reason for all these questions, because it turns out having a Trojan horse installed on the desktop computer that allows a hacker to access my PC remotely. AVG detects whenever I had scanned my office but unfortunately the Trojan horse is just renamed and removed to another place when detected. Last week I did a new install of Windows 7 and everything worked fine until yesterday. I noticed that AVG was not updated yesterday. I first tried to install what AVG but was unable even to reinstall AVG.  I didn't realize that once I have turn off the Windows Firewall I can install and update AVG without a problem. However the firewall Windows has not prevented never AVG update or install in the past. I thought it was a form of malware, the origin of this problem, but after the start of the HBCD and scan with malwarebytes and also to scan using Kaspersky rescue disk. I have not found a malicious software. Even my windows laptop 8 I have no problems updating and installing AVG, while Windows Firewall is enabled. I really believe that it's some form of malware with managed to bypass all virus scans. Please give me some advice and let me know what is the problem and the solution. Thanks in advance

It has been long since I had no faith on average. :-)

Use the removal of AVG on this link tool to completely remove AVG, following the installation of Microsoft Security Essentials here ...

In addition, pull it out of Windows 8 and leave Windows Defender to take over. You will have less problems you get with AVG. There is no need to install MSE in Windows 8, as it's already there...

  • Tecra A9: Windows does not start after you turn off multiprocessor in BIOS

I use a Toshiba Tecra A9 with a Core 2 duo. I need to change the bios setting to run a special program, "multiprocessor: disable. Now, I've changed back to the bios setting "multiprocessor: activate ' and win xp stop start after login. With "multiprocessors: Disable" the computer starts normally. If I press F8 after starting the computer and select save mode, the computer starts.
I don't have any idea what I can do to solve this problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ulli

Maybe the ACPI-Multi CPU driver was not installed correctly or a MS patch is necessary.
I read on some similar topic websites.
It is very important that the XP SP2 has been installed and other patches.

At this time the new Win XP SP3 is available. I think that this is a beta version, but I already installed it on my XP OS.

So maybe you should enable the multiprocessor option in the BIOS then you need to install the XP again. Then install all available Ms patches, fixes and eventually the SP3 too.

    Then check again.

One question; Are you using the newest BIOS?

  • Tecra 500 CDT does not start. Please help with CP

    Hi all

I have an old Tecra CDT of 500 which, up until yesterday, worked fabulously. Now for some reason it starts at all. No matter how long you push the Start button on the side, he shows no signs of life at all. It's been hot here lately so I wonder if it's suffering "heat exhaustion! Seriously, clues as to what could have caused this problem and how to overcome it would be greatly appreciated. It has been used much more recent than usual and for hours. Is this likely to have helped him give up the ghost?

I hope someone out there can help.

    Thank you
    Dynamo-dom

    Hi Dominic,

It would seem that your laptop has developed a hardware failure, either with the current power switch the PSU internally. I think that your only action now is to contact a service partner and ask them a price that it be repaired.

    Good luck

  • x 230 sometimes does not start - stops at the screen Intel Boot Agent

    Hi all

We use x 230 with Win7 ultimate and domainintegration in our business environment. Some devices have problems at startup. Sometimes they stop booting on the Intel Boot Agent screen. When you restart the computer, it is impossible to enter the BIOS Setup too. You are able to press F1 and later, you can type the BIOS password (if you use one) but then it stops again at the same point, as shown above and shows no BIOS.

Then, several reboots later (more than 5 I would say) it suddenly works fine again for a few rounds of start and stop. And you suddenly have the same problem again without having changed anything seriously.

BIOS version is updated to the last that I could find on the pages of lenovo. (2.51 Rev.01)

It is impossible to give a device with such a mistake to beat in the hands of users.

    You have any ideas?

    Thank you

    Martin

  • 29 FF sometimes does not start. Popup with an error message.

    Hello.

With 29 FF, I frequently get a pop-up message indicating that "Firefox is already running" and I have to kill that deal and restart the browser in XP. Everyone knows about this problem?

    Thank you.

  • Re: Tecra S5 does not start

After the upgrade to win7 and sometimes having a blue screen when you start the following happened.

After blue screen once more, laptop is not starting at all.

The only thing that happens is that I see the upstartscreen (in touch with tomorrow TOSHIBA) and the icons at the bottom of the screen indicating the readers. Nothing happens any more, it does not start doe.

I can change by tapping F12 in a new boot through the CD rom boot procedure, but there is also no effect.

Also, it is not possible to enter the bios (esc + F1).

The keyboard works because, after a while each touch result is a short "beep".

I removed the battery for a while and tried again with no results.

If I can put my laptop by the ore basket is there a possibility to bring it to life

    Thanks in advance, Jos

On this virtual path, it is not easy to offer an accurate diagnosis, but somehow, I feel THAT BIOS is doomed.
Unplug the AC adapter / CC, remove the battery and press the power for 20 seconds. After doing this only connect the power supply and restart your laptop.

I don't have this model of laptop and I'm not sure to get into the BIOS but try also with F2.

  • Tecra A6 does not start with battery only

    Hi all
I'm having a strange problem with a Tecra A6 I picked up recently at the refurb because it does not start with a battery only: it starts only when / sector is also connected, but eventually DΘmarrer on battery alone (and works fine) with the power cord removed shortly after pressing the power button. It's just on battery alone, I get no answer by pressing the power on button (so the power outlet must be set at this first stage or I don't get anything).

Now I'm wondering if maybe it's the battery voltage? It seems that there are 2 options for this model, a 10.8 v and the other at 11.1V. With loaded Windows and Hardware Monitor reports running the battery is at 0% wear level and cool until completely (so I don't think that the battery is faulty), but it indicates that the battery is running at * 11, 1V, * but the battery installed is actually the * model 10.8v*. Could that prevent any power on only to batteries?

More information on the model I have:
    Tecra A6-PTA60E-0EJ013EN
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0 Ghz
    2 GB of Ram.

Thanks in advance for any help on this one. Essential, I would like to know is if I have a 11.1V battery to run this model correctly (and get it) on battery alone. If the voltage makes no difference so I guess it must be a weird motherboard problem and I need bother not buy a new battery.

    > Will have to buy another battery and see if the same thing happens (I'll know then if it is the motherboard), but in the meantime if anyone can let me know if the voltage is serious I would appreciate it.

To my knowledge, the batteries for Tecra A6 should take in charge 10.8V
There's piles more strong for example 5200mAh but the voltage must be the same 10.8

  • Tecra M2 does not start

I'm new havoing problems with my Tecra M2. can someone point me in the right direction with regard to breakdowns, I had a glance on the forum and the threads associated with the Tecra range but cannot find all threads that match my problem.

In a short time, less than three days, I had a problem that began with the laptp re start when it has been moved to now does not start at all. All the lights are what I expect of them with the exception of the HARD drive indicator, that does not illuminate at the start of the boot sequence. Does that mean that my HARD drive or the connection at the disk has failed, measures of observation of fault that I can follow to confirm or deny my fears would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

If the HARD drive is faulty, then you should not be able to start the operating system, but you should be able to see the BIOS splash screen.
You see that? Are you abele to access the BIOS?
    Please check this!

To access the BIOS ESC and F1 press immediately after the laptop has been powered! If this is not possible then there might be something wrong with the motherboard or any other piece of hardware like RAM.

If you are able to access the BIOS, then you should check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS.
You can also use the tool called Drive Fitness Test to verify the HARD drive!

  • Tecra 8000 does not start after the BIOS update

From one day to the other does not start my Tecra 8000 (400 MHz/256 MB BIOS 9.30 for years). After start-up, the disc starts to turn, but the screen including the backlight remains completely black, without red logo TOSHIBA BIOS is not accessible.

I got a new mainboard on stock, so I replaced it, and it worked. Unfortunately now my WLAN card now did not work properly. I tried several settings of the BIOS with no results, so I decided to do an update of the BIOS from 7.50 to 9: 30. After the upgrade, I get the message "ROM WRITE successful, utility completed. LEADER BIOS: Tecra8000 v 9,30 ". Because what either kept silent, I pressed the power button to restart and heard a long and many short beeps (endless). I could interrupt what pressing the powerbutton for 5s.

After turning on again I have the same problem as described in the first line :-( I can't get into the BIOS, but I can again update (with pressed F12). Once again these beeps.

What to do with these beeps after average BIOS update? I replaced the MoBo connector LED with pension. Processor, memory, keyboard and HD has remained the same. So, before I start disassembling the machine, please notify, your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Joachim

I'm not a technician and don t know what the beeps but I am afraid that the BIOS chip is damaged. Because of this, the unit is completely dead. Sorry, but I really don t believe you can do anything. Maybe the new motherboard again :(
