Tecra A9 - 11i: update Bios problem and AHCI works not

Hello

I have trouble to update BIOS for a Toshiba Tecra laptop A9 - 11i, (with the last update of the official European website of toshiba); After running the bios (version 3.2.8) Launcher
"I get the message" this computer is not supported "? The latest version of the bios installed is 1.5, date 05/07/2007

also if I can add a few questions:
the function keys tdlo can't seem to work;
led for the "FN" key light turns on when the key so assume the FN key works, but there is no response when you press on the "FN" key and one of the number keys on the f - I installed the software of the control unit as have been advised but this has not resolved.

I also have difficulty accessing the AHCi ' mode to work in Windows XP Pro SP3. I chipset intel 965 m + ICH8M, the Intel ICH8M serial ata storage controller-2828 present in the Device Manager - the matrix storage manager does not work so I copied the file iastor.sys from the folder Manager matrix in C:/Windows/Driver/system32 and changed the registry as read elsewhere on the forum but have had no joy.

any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much.

This error message appears if you want to update a BIOS that is not compatible with your model of laptop.
Toshiba pilot European page provides the BIOS 2.10Win for this model of laptop.
If you have used certainly bad BIOS.

First be sure that the AHCI is enabled in the BIOS.
In addition, the Intel Storage Manager controls the AHCI so you should integrate the AHCI driver to CD Win XP as described here:

You have a serious problem with the laptop?

However, the BIOS requires the VAP (value added package).

If there is a problem with the VAP, the update of the BIOS would not start.

    Hello

    • When you receive this error message?
    • What were the changes made before the issue started?

Try the SFC scan on the computer.

SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.

Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC/scannow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should be usually one of your top not troubleshooting.

  • Tecra M4-138: update BIOS (i) 3.40 (ii) Slim Select Bay HD

    (i) recently (12/06/2007), Toshiba has released an update of the 3.40 BIOS which can be done only through windows. I own a Tecra M4 - 138 running Win XP Tablet Ed and since now I've updated windows fron BIOS (now it is under v3.30). But the last update can be satisfied! After you run the update, it displays a small window with the label 'run... '. "and a bar running and... that's it! After waiting nearly an hour nothing happenned. I called the local dealer and they advised to perform decommissioning if the system restarts to repeat the procedure and if the problem continues to avoid the update. Is this (thankfully)! Because I don't know if this update fixes important and by default, I tend to be updated, any valuable advisor?

(ii) I'm trying for some time to put a HD (secondary IDE) to my Tecra M4-138 using the Slim Select Bay drive HARD adapter (PA-3134U-2CTE), an IDE interface and... of Toshiba 120 GB HD... SATA (!) all bought them 4PC GMBH (a Premium Business Partner of Toshiba...). In any case, after not receiving their share of response to my posts, I decided to use this SATA HD as external USB and I am now looking again for a 2.5 "HD (IDE) put in PA-3134U-2CTE. The question: what can be the maximum capacity that resists the Slim Select Bay?
    ?:|

The update of the bios version 3.40 is logical, but it is not necessary if you are running a stable system.

    There are two major improvements:
    1. exit TV (S-Video) is compatible with Windows Vista now
    2 Improments about Chipset Intel

If you have a floppy drive there is another possibility for updating the bios.
Extract the 3.40 bios. Copy the files chgbiosa.exe and BIO0026T.COM on the diskette.
Now you can perform the update of the bios as described in the http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?service=EU&FID=TRO0000000b07 Bios FAQ in the traditional update section.

    According to your second problem:
Tecra M4 has no real limits on the size of hard drive in the Bay of select. The only thing you have to rememer is Tecra M4 has an INTERNAL Serial ATA HDD but select bay with a selectbay for Parallel ATA HDD adapter.
So I wonder you bought a SATA HARD drive - for this slim selectbay adapater. PATA HDDs will only fit in!
Back to your question once again. You can buy any real 2,5 "PATA HDD for this card. To get the good HARD-Adator disc on the HARD disk, you should consider buying a drive hard Toshiba selectbay in Catalog option (for example PX1340E - 1 12)

  • Startup after update BIOS problems

I recently updated my Alienware Aurora R4 for Windows 10, that satisfies me, but I noticed that my fans have been reallt strong during startup and shutdown, and I had to reset manually in my Alienware Command Center application which caused irritation, so after minimal research, I saw that one of the proposed fixed has been update BIOS I foolishly thought would be a quick easy thing to try, so I updated the BIOS version A7 to A11 day because I was not aware of the flashing, which I realize now, I should certainly have done. In any case, the update seems to work fine, no freezes or crashes and I just restarted my computer and stop was normal. When he started upward again if, instead of start properly, he showed a 10 windows screen that says: "your computer encountered a problem and needs to restart" with an error that says INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. When it has rebooted, I went into my BIOS settings and that he made sure that my the first boot device has been "hard drive" (I have two discs SSD, a HARD drive, but they have never caused me problems before and nothing has been fixed when I took out the HARD drive without windows on it). So far, I restarted a bunch of times and tried everything I can think of. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

simple tips I gave to a member of the forum the other day (it is possible that the bios update is back your settings to "default"):

    • Check your bios, game sata AHCI controller
    • set the boot device as HDD #1
    • others had the chance in the bios, go to 'legacy boot.
    • remove all external usb devices for now accept keyboard and mouse back.

  • Don't recharge Tecra S11-119 - updated BIOS question too!

My computer is a year. It was quite well, until I noticed that he had ceased to charge the battery. After some googling I found that there could be an update of the BIOS, that I had missed. When you try to install the BIOS update, I get a message saying I need to plug in my computer first (which is always that the dough is not a charge).

BIOS update program says he wants to be updated as follows:

BIOS version: current Ver.2.60--> updated Ver.3.20
THIS Version: Current Ver.1.80--> updated Ver.1.90

    OS: Windows 7
    BIOS file I downloaded: bios-20110714132558

Is this a known problem with a fix available?

    Hello

Are you sure that you have downloaded and used the good version of the BIOS.
I have read about similar error message and finally the used user isn't compatible BIOS.

In addition the VAP (value added package) must be installed to update BIOS! In case you, I recommend you to reinstall this tool too.

But I'm not quite sure if the BIOS update will help you solve the problem of battery m
Maybe you need to replace the battery

    Hello

I just installed the latest update of the Bios for my Equium A210, as has been the first time results attempted this \i watched carefully and everything seems to go correctly but the laptop is restarted, it beeps and showed a checksum error, I chose the option to reboot with 'Default settings'

Since that I got problems to connect to MSN Live Messenger and I wondered if this might be something to do with the Bios Update, it is also possible to 'come back' to the old Bios somehow?

    Thank you
    Lee

    Hello

your question isn't really a related problem of the machine. The "Checksum Error" is normal after each update BIOS since the checksum of the BIOS which consists the BIOS settings and the version of the BIOS is not correct due to a modified version of BIOS.
So, the next time that you update your BIOS you will get a "BIOS checksum error" again. Worry not Don t, it s nothing serious.

  • Vista Home Prem - problems since installation on 26 August updated - USB problems and everything deleted before the update restore points

I have a Dell XPS 430 quad-processor. Receipt of the August 26 as update automatic updates. Since the computer was restarted after autoupdates, I have problems. Biggest problem is when I switch to another port my 4 ports KVM Trendnet TK - 407K and back on my Dell computer - the computer is blocked and the video is all garbled. My only recourse is to start the computer cold. After the first time it happened, I knew immediately updates, so I went in my restore points to restore back before the update. When I did restore bluescreened, but I was unable to capture data as computer restarted itself and get into the routine of starting fix. Difficulty of startup said it could not solve my problem.

When I returned to restore to try to restore once again, I found that all my restore points have been removed. I found a utility called the shadow on the web Explorer and installed. He seems to find all my data restore point on the recovery D: drive, but Windows is not seeing them.  I should also mention, usb-wise, given that these updates have been applied, my Canon digital camera is not recognized when I hang it in one of the USB ports.

Don't know what to do at this point. If I stay on the port on my computer using the KVM switch, my PC at home works well. Unfortunately, it is not realistic that I need to do my job in two laptops that are also connected to the switch.

I'm tempted to just delete all the updates that have been installed on 8/26 to see if that helps - esp KB973879 I read on this patch causing a lot of problems with other computers.  Another thing that I have not tried is to use the restore from a command prompt application.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • ProBook 430 1: cannot update win8.0 to 8.1. Update bios to ver01.31 may not even go to the store to down load

    Hello

I have this notebook since 2013 he was running windows 8.0 I try to update to woindows 8.1 without success. And I saw someone on the forum said if back BIOS do return to the old version 01.05. I tried it did not help. Then I try to update the bios to new worm 01.31 again.

Now the computer take ages to initialize. «A disk shows committed a script error "and can't even go to the store and down load it say" your PC is not connect to internet...» "but my internet access and all the program works just slow down.

What can I do now? Going back to the old version of the Bios? How? or you have any suggestions of upgrading to windows 8.1 or 10?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Stanley

    Hello

There seems to be some sort of software within the current Windows 8 this problem is why I suggested at the start you first perform a recovery back to a clean install without problem and then try to upgrade to Windows 8.1

However, if you do not want to perform a recovery, try other things first. However, if this does not help, please perform a recovery and then go through the standard 8.0 - > 8.1 upgrade process.

1 Please, check the clock and date of your Windows

    2. Please check the BIOS clock/date and correct them if necessary

    3. ensure the Windows user account control is enabled/Active

    3.1 reboot the computer

    4. make sure that you have applied all updates of standard Windows (Control Panel > Windows Update)

    4.1 reboot

    5. make sure you don't have any installed security software that may interfere with the particular process of network, firewall, etc.

6 Please, run Troubleshooter Windows Update to find and erase errors > > http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=windows-8 |   http://go.Microsoft.com/?linkid=9830262

    6.1. restart the computer

7, ensure that all drivers are updated - you can run the HP support assistant before that > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467905

    7.1. restart the computer

8 enforce Windows Store reset to clear the cache of WS and settings > > http://www.askvg.com/did-you-know-wsreset-command-to-clear-windows-store-cache-in-windows-8-and-later/

9 restart the computer once more after the above suggestion

Try to upgrade once more to 8.1 following the standard procedure:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03847367

    > > http://www.gizmag.com/upgrade-windows-8--to-windows-81/29394/

To answer one of your questions - it has no official option to upgrade to earn 8 to 8.1 without going through the Store for Windows 8 and Windows 8.0 Pro. Such an option is available for the Enterprise of Windows edition and it is not available publicly. When you use Windows 8.0 (standard home or Pro version) you can use store - that's how Microsoft decides it is.

    =========================

If you try everything mentioned above and it still doesn't, please consider if you factory default recovery and then I think it should work according to the standard procedure (immediately after recovery and Windows updates) > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03847367

    =========================

Please, I would like to know how this happens.

  • Equium A210-1AS - after update BIOS screen no longer works

I tried to find the same problem but impossible.

I had to reinstall Windows Vista after mistakes with programs (recovery was useless so install fress was necessary) and everything worked fine. I downloaded all the drivers and updates section of drivers Toshiba, I installed the ATI graphics driver, then update the BIOS.
While the closed laptop, now when I turn it on, the fan on the works of graphics card, battery, power and load turns on but the screen remains off (not illuminated). I tried an external monitor and the same problem again. As the screen worked fine until the update im guessing its something that the BIOS has done, or the graphics update.

Thanks to all who can help.

To me, it sounds like the update of the BIOS's not on your laptop. If the BIOS update fails more often than computer start doesn t more you can see anything on the screen but you can hear the fan, etc.

In any case, you can try this workaround: remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait an hour and then reconnect the two devices. Now try to start Notepad and hope this works ;)

If it doesn't work, you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. Technicians can try to reflash the ROM module

    Good luck!

  • Flashed to update BIOS, now the fan is not working?

I have a HP DV6226US and I have recently updated the BIOS to version F.2D. I am running vista 32 os. It is the version that is given for my computer model on the site of HP software and drivers. When I ran the update, I remember saying that he check the compatibility before the BIOS flash.

    Here's my question...

Before the lightning used to fan run constantly with clearly different degrees of RPM. After the flash, the fan does not seem at all turns. It turned on once when I restarted the computer (right before you start loading vista). Other that that, I can not here one thing. However, I used HD Tune and a CPU monitor very simple to see what kind of weather the internal parts are running in. My HARD drive (WD 7200 RPM 320 GB Scorpio black) is running at constant c from 46 to 47. In the manufactures specifications, even under the 200 + GB scans loaded on it. The processor cores appear to be good inside factory card as well. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this change in behavior of the fan due to the update of the BIOS, and if I should be concerned by the apparently lack of fan activity. I use this laptop for DJ and karaoke at intervals of 4 to 5 hours about 5 days a week and demand that it is not overheating. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks in advance.

OK, since no one answered I came up with my own solution. So for anyone who did a search and comes up with this post, this is what how I solved my problem.

I went back to the software HP and downloads page and read all versions of the BIOS updates. I found myself flashing version e.16 for several reasons.

    • It is close to the original version of the F.14 (who does not appear in the BIOS versions).
    • Other versions have been fixes for the problems that I had not lived with my laptop (HP DV6226us with a 30BB motherboard Quanta and processor Intel T2250)
    • E.16 added support for processors Intel Celeron M (which is not important in my application) and improves the performance of the system with a thermal function to update the CPU.

Before the downgrade of F.2D to e.16, such as mentioned in previous posts, the CPU cores were running at a distance of 35 ° c - 55 ° c +. Not out of reach, but warmer than usual. The temperature of the HARD drive has been ranging from 42 ° c - 61. 61 was reached in the execution of an analysis, and it is out of the Max Temp. Beach of the HARD disk that is 60 ° c. During my DJ/KJ shows the disk HARD temp. would more 53ºC - 58ºC and usually take around with a small fluctuation 54ºC. To me this seemed very high from what I was used to in the past before updating the BIOS F.2D.

Since the downgrade to e.16, my CPU temp. has varied between 0 ° c - 35 ° c and is usually at 20 ° c. The HARD drive has retreated down to 42 ° c - 45 ° c. During my DJ/KJ show the temp. Hit 44ºC and constant which took place. It is a huge improvement. The fan works just like in the past and is not blowing hot super air when it works.

Fixed a problem! Hope this helps someone else who is facing a similar problem.

  • Update NVIDIA problems: exit HDMI does not.

    Hello

So I've updated NVIDIA GeForce 8200 m G yesterday to the new version (285.62). I had the 186.68 version ou.85, I don't remember. When I tried to connect my LCD HD TV to my laptop, it has not worked, everything was the same. So I tried to go to control panel > Mobile PC > to connect to a projector... > Connect monitor and changed the setting so that the display show only on the TV. When I click 'OK' my computer screem black but I could still see the light from the screen, and nothing happens. No video, no sound. My computer buttoned up like that and then I had to restart.

So, I'm looking to see what was wrong and found that a lot of people where having the same problems, but for a different computer. I see that some people just had the old version that they or an older version then v280 I come, I tried it and got v275.33 and still the same thing happens. The computer recognizes it, but nothing happens. Just black screen. I also tried restoring but I re-installed so it did not work.

I don't know how to get my old rear drive, if anyone can help me? Does anyone know how to fix this? Connect to my HP PC to my TV. I have the HDMI cable and it worked in the past, so I think it was the update.

    HP G60-121WM

    Windows Vista 32 bit

    NVIDIA GeForce 8200 M G 1407 MB

If somebody finds the problem, you can send me a link? I also tried to make the 'system restore', but I just continued to get a failure message. If you need more just informationg say.

    Thank you.

P.S. I also saw this chanded "NVIDIA audio HDMI" "NVIDIA HD Audio" but know that he just says "High definition Audio Device", which could take place? In addition, the site NVIDIA said that I need to uninstall my NVIDIA Windows display drivers. I did and when go out to uninstall. This is not, but I have v275.33 Verde drive that I received from NVIDIA Web. I did something wrong?

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_13955.html

Yes, I see and it always the accident when I use it.

However, I think I solved it. I just when the HP, shearch for my PC website and downloaded the reader but I had already that don't but did ' t work. I keept getting a message that I was not under windows vista. Then I opened the file from the disk I have download and when Windows 32 folder and it had a probram for installation.

I tried and the installer has just stood there, not doing nothing. I closed by using the the windows Task Manager ("ctrl" + "alt" + "del") and run the driver installation program again. Before I could click on the button continue, my screen will turn off and on to turrn. So I plugged the HDMI cable and when to the NVIDIA Control Panel and made my tv the 2nd screen but the sound does not work.
