    Hi Jose

Are you using the original Toshiba pre-installed Windows or your own version?
Display driver original included in the original recovery image is tested, so you shouldn't have trouble with basic stuff like flash video playback.

Since when did you notice this problem? Can you give us an example when this happens?
    You have installed updates?
To be honest, I can't imagine that this issue is on the first day of use.

  • On my Tecra 9000 display driver problem

    Hey guys

I wonder if you could help me. I have loaded a new copy of Windows XP Pro on my Tecra 9000, while configuring I unchecked accidentally the Windows display driver option. Now, every time I start up the laptop I have, but the OS is still running in the background. Is there anyway to get my screen back?

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon

    Hello

Did you use an original Microsoft Windows or the recovery CD provided?
In my opinion, you must use the recovery CD because it has all the necessary drivers for devices to unity.
If you installed the original operating system from CD of Microsoft Windows, you must download and install all Toshiba drivers after installing the OS.

    Good bye

  • Tecra M2 display is compatible with Tecra M5?

    Hello

    I have a Tecra M5 with a ladle monitor.
does anyone know if the monitor from an old M2 is compatible if I Exchange?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

To my knowledge the two models Tecra (M5 and M2) supports the 14.1 display.
The question is whether the cable screen M2 would be match with the M5 connectors

Well, it is not known to me but I think generally you likely would be compatible with Tecra M5 Tecra M2 display.

  • Tecra S1 - display problem, even on external monitor

One day I was using the laptop, surfing the net normally, everything was fine and suddenly the screen went bad... (photo below). I tried using an external monitor and still the same, so I'm sure that my monitor is fine and it is probably a problem of display card?
I tried to update my display card driver and no luck, so I decided to use the recovery CD to restore the system and no luck once again.

Here is a screenshot after the system restore... y at - there a way to fix this without taking it to a service center?
    Thank you

    Hi borist,

It s really great that you could post a picture of your problem. Thank you!
In addition, you have already tried a lot of as the recovery facility and an external monitor.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a hardware malfunction of graphics card. :(

This means that you will need to swap the motherboard because the graphics card is fixed on it. Motherboard is a party quite expensive and Tecra S1 is old notebook then maybe you can get a second hand or laptop motherboard on eBay and swap it out.

    Good luck! :)

  • Tecra A2 - display problems

My Tecra A2 has suddenly decided to stop displaying graphics correctly, after you restart it the other day. The first thing I noticed is that the text of the labels for the icons on my desktop are more transparent, that is, the image of the desktop background is no longer visible behind text - the text is surrounded by a blue background. http://www.thelangton.org.UK/icons.gif

In addition, the web pages are not displayed properly... I can't work quite exactly, what is and does not work, but are not background images, and some tables are not either. A copy of Θcran of how this page is looking here: http://www.thelangton.org.uk/tecra.gif

Another strange thing I noticed is that the icons in some programs (e.g. media player) are not displayed correctly: http://www.edludlow.co.uk/wmp.gif but it IS full screen http://www.edludlow.co.uk/wmpfull.gif

Any ideas what's happening? I tried a system files and no luck. Also I tried change screen res, color depth etc, still nothing. Also tried to start in safe mode, and the problems are the same.

    Very annoying!

    Thanks in advance,
    Ed Ludlow

    Hello

Well, it s very strange question. I had never heard of this issue.
He s strange that the OS recovery doesn't completely solve this problem.
In this case I suggest that it s something wrong with the hardware. Maybe the FL inverter has a failure.
Sorry I put t has another idea.

    Good bye

  • Tecra S1 display problem

Unfortnately my tecra s1 hit the table of coffee on the ground, the screen immediately turned white. When I rebooted there was no display at all (black only)
The computer works as I plugged on a screen external and that was very good. I tried to follow various troubleshooting guides online showing how to disassemble the laptop and reinstall the connector of the display on the motherboard, but this did not remedy the problem.

I noticed coming from the display was a big bunch of wires going into a connector that I reinstalled, on the right hand side of the screen is a white and black wire to a connector and a pink wire that seemed to just float, I couldn't not whence he came. Does anyone have ideas on the subject of this thread or other tips that can help me.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Unfortunately, mate, you won't find any manual disassembly here on the pages of Toshiba. These manuals are not for use public and designed only for the FSA.
But I think you could google a bit and you should find a few details.

I think that it is a display problem that I doubt that some loose cables could cause this problem
In my view, the screen is broken and needs to be replaced
To do this, you should get in touch with your technician ASP.

    Good luck

  • Tecra 8100: display suddenly will Dim

    Hello

during normal operation of the Tecra 8100, suddenly the screen darkens. The display still works, only the backlight is dark. By pressing the small pin, which is turn off the backlight when you close the screen, light reappeares. Sometimes for hours, sometimes for a few minutes, but especially the second. A restart of the computer solves the problem for at least half an hour. What can I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Kai

    Hello

When the screen will Dim can you get by pressing any key on the keyboard or move the mouse?

  • Tecra A2 and starting problems

I m using a Tecra A2 now for 5 years. The last few months a problem when starting accurse.

Normally all the icons for the programs that I need as the printer, graphics for 2 mobile screens control, program backup, its, etc. are in the status line at the bottom of the screen to the left. This is useful to quickly obtain information and access programs. But from time to time, this status line is therefore more complete. Even the arrow to display hidden icons disappeared.

Just recently, I discovered a rather unorthodox solution.
When I put a blank DVD in the drive, open the file manager, try double click to open the drive, the message: Please check the CD in drive d: / is considered.

When I try to close on the X window close program (because the DVD is not responding) accurse, one I click to close immediately.
That hangs in the display, after a certain time the missing icons are all included.

Does anyone has a similar problem and could solve it? Toshiba hotline gave me the advice to format the hard drive and restore the system. This should be the last option.

    Hi Torsten

It's really hard to say why all this is happening...

Maybe you should clean the Windows registry using CCleaner. It s worth a try! ;)

On the issue of DVD player, maybe you have to clean the lens using microfibre cloth and be careful if you clean.

Last but not least, I can only agree with Toshiba customer service. You must reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc. It only takes a few minutes and then you have a clean OS with all the drivers again. :)

  • Tecra A3: display noise

    Hello

I have a new Tecra A3, Centrino 1.6 760 MB of RAM, Win XP Pro SP2.
A few days ago a weird problem started, where I started to see grains in the display. White flicker i.e. small spots all over the screen, similar to the TV noise when there is no station tuned. In addition, all fonts are thick/serrated, double-edged, color gradations are not at all normal.

I thought it was a driver issue screen, not so used, uninstall, install the latest drivers from Toshiba, Intel, but nothing is. Previously it was intermittent. Sometimes it starts with a normal display, sometimes the problem.
Now, every time, it starts with the noise.

I also noticed a when I turn on the laptop, I turned off the logo in the bios, so I don't see the memory check during POST. All these policies, at this point is are shredded.
If an operating system problem is excluded. Even the XP windows logo during boot a whitish flickering.
As a last resort, I tried upgrading the BIOS v 2.10. but no use.

Can someone please say or I might have to turn in controls of the Toshiba svc Center, which would take a few days.

    Hello

Well well, in my opinion it s a hardware malfunction. I guess this problem may be the FL inverter but I m not 100% sure. The FL inverter is a spare low cost part and very easy to replace.
You must contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner. They have more practical knowledge in this case.

  • Tecra M7 - display will not be repeated after 10 minutes of inactivity

Hello everyone, I'm new here so please be patient with me! :-)

I've had my new Tecra M7 for about a week now, and while everything else seems to work perfectly, there is a problem with the LCD screen. By default, it is configured to turn off after being idle for 10 minutes. The problem is that it won't resume from this State.

I see that the laptop itself is working (he reacts to pressure on keys etc.) but I had to Hibernate and resume the screen lights up. The touchpad and keyboard activity doing nothing, only hibernate.

At the office, I use the laptop dual-view mode with external 19 "LCD screen connected as secondary display. In this case, the external LCD display will resume after moving the mouse or touch the touchpad, but the primary laptop LCD screen will remain inactive until hibernation.

My question is: do you have someone running into the same question, or that someone has any ideas?

I thought to upgrade drivers Quadro NVS, but discovered that the pre-installed ForceWare drivers (version 84.52) accompanying are actually more recent than those displayed on the nVidia site (84,26 - confusion)! Also he reports (everywhere in the system), it has 256 MB of video RAM, so the specification Tecra M7 on the box says 128 MB so I don't know which is correct?

Thanks for all the ideas in advance!
    RADO

    Hello

Certainly, the nVIDIA Quadro NVS 110 M on the Tecra M7 graphics card supports 128 MB of video RAM.
Graphics drivers from Toshiba are not the same thing as the manufacturers of original cards drivers. Toshiba drivers are a bit changed.
You must use the drivers from the site of nVidia, but especially on the site of Toshiba.

If there is a newer version of the graphics card driver, then remove the old and install the driver from the website of Tosh.
Additional if the new BIOS have been published, you can try to update. But be careful. Be sure to use the good BIOS and the correct procedure for updating the BIOS.

    Good luck..

  • Tecra 9000 display driver

    Hello

I recently acquired a Toshiba Tecra 9000. I added a new 40 GB hard drive and installed Windows XP. The standard display driver does not allow me to connect an external monitor to extend my Windows desktop on 2 screens, so I downloaded the latest driver on this site. However, when I try to install the driver (S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC 1179) a hardware setup error appears saying this driver has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify the compatibility with XP. There is no other driver to select on the Toshiba site, so I installed the driver. At first, everything seemed ok, but today my laptop has projected Blue 6 times within the last hour. I've now uninstalled the driver and have not had any problems. However, because I have everything installed display drivers display is basic at best.

No one else has this problem with the display driver for a Tecra 9000 with XP? Or anyone knows other drivers compatible with my model?

    Thank you

It's very strange! All the drivers on the Toshiba download page are the same as the CD Utility & Tools.
Is your TECRA 9000 a European model?
Try using the driver CD tools & utilities. On this way, you'll be sure to use a right.

I have a Tecra 8100 but my screen resolution is only 16 colors, so I tried all the downloads on this page display driver, but:

S3TRAY. EXE cannot be opened, nothing to do.

I mean, I can't work with display only 16 colors, please help me.

    Hello

On the Toshiba page are two different Wk2 drivers listed:

5.12.01.7002 - 7.30.2 pilot S3 display for the wild graphics card

7.40.29 display driver for the S3 Savage MX
