I also need to know if Toshiba sells a recovery disk to my computer with Windows 7, or do I have to buy a Windows 7 disc and serch for drivers on my own if I want to have the new operating system?

    Hello!

I also put t know how much RAM have been mounted, but I checked the Tecra M9 user manual and it can be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. This means that you need two modules with specification of SO-DIMM DDR2 200pin for upgrade. In the user manual, you can find some information about it.

On the issue of Windows 7, I think that Toshiba will not release a Windows 7 recovery disc because this model isn't Windows 7 supported:

You can install Windows 7 from a Microsoft disc but you will have to collect the drivers on different websites or other, you use the Vista drivers.

  • Tecra A4 cannot read recovery disks

I am trying to rebuild my Tecra A4 software.
When I bought it in 2005, I did the recovery discs as recommended by using Sony CDR 700 MB disks.

Now the CD-DVD do not read them.
The discs are good, that I've explored them before (a while back), I can Explorer on another computer.

The Tecra open commercial discs (e.g., printer put in place of the disks, etc.), but does not open the discs that were burned itself (for example, whether previously on the Tecra or another computer). I tired the Sony recovery discs, I tried CD - RW Fuji disks, I tired Memorex, MB 100 CD - R discs.

None of them will work. Driver is up-to-date.
I cleaned the lens. Still no luck.
    Any suggestions?

Otherwise, how can I get a reconstruction of the initial state of the software as new on the system?
I have an original XP disc that is generic to Microsoft.

However, I don't want to go this route because I'm pretty sure that Toshiba uses all sorts of drivers that are not available from MS, nor readily available on the net without having to pay someone for them.

In this case, to all CD/DVD players, that I had the same problem, because not all readers are compatible with all the disks that are on the market
I think that is known to you

However, this problem could be related to a hardware malfunction since the reader of the s laptop has been used 5 years long, it s the s drive laser lens can not calibrate correctly because of the stress of use

It must be said that you can try to burn the recovery disk using another computer and then you could try to restore the operating system using the burned recovery disk.

  • Recovery disk Tecra M2 installs but happens with incomplete installation

Tecra M2 worked fine, it's a good little machine without running out of space.
I tried to install a new drive HARD 160 GB (Seagate) was 60 GB (Hitachi).
I used the recovery on the new HARD drive disk, it formats the drive sets up XP Professional, gets that me recorded by Microsoft OK, but when the laptop wants to run Windows it bombards gives me a blue screen ('dumping' memory etc.).
When the laptop reboots, in "Safe Mode" message pops up that the 'Installation was incomplete. Re-install Setup.
    First question: -.
Is it possible to 'fix' the installation with the recovery disk?
Another disk of Windows XP CD - seems unable to repair the installation.

    Then
    Second question: -.
I tried to do a complete reinstallation from scratch, with the Windows CD - no problem. But then I need to install the drivers - got the support of Toshiba OK and I see the recovery disc has a whole bunch of the 'fix' but the June 10, 2006 forum thread "necessary driver after installation of Windows on TecraM2, gives the order of installation: no problem except that I cannot locate"Microsoft Windows XP Professional Step by Step Interactive"anywhere - I looked everywhere for it?

    Hi Ollienz,

I'm a little confused about your Mr. ad you want to install Windows from Toshiba Recovery disk or normal drive of Microsoft? What do you do now?

Theoretically, the recovery disk might be scratched so that installation can t be completed so successfully in your case, I would like to try a Microsoft Windows XP disk.

I did a Google search for this Microsoft Windows XP Professional Step by Step Interactive and I found it s an update of safety for interactive training but it doesn t seem to be important for the driver installation:

  • Need recovery disk or recovery for my Tecra A11 image

I have a Toshiba Tecra A11 and had a problem with the operating system, so a friend offered to fix it for me, when he said fix what it meant try and install completely wrong Windows 7, but at the same time destroy the removal of the partition, all built in Windows 7 pro installation.

So now I need a file or a CD specific boot to a USB key. Anyone know where I can get one or download one without having to pay 35 quid for a new Toshiba?

    Thank you
    Tom

Recovery file cannot be downloaded. Toshiba offer as only recovery disk. Download an iso file won't help you much because you will not be able to start the recovery image installation.

Either you find someone who has the same Tecra and use its disk or you must order one on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

(each disc recovery linked with his original laptop computer by serial number or something else? or he will be ok for all laptop Tecra M2)

    Thank you

You can buy each recovery disk which is for the Tecra M2. It is not based on the serial number or something else.

Each Tecra M2 recovery disk will work.

  • Re: Blue screen on Tecra R850-1HU install Win XP Recovery disk

    Hello

I have a Tecra R850-1HU that comes with windows 7 pro

I stopped the media recovery for win xp

The installation is correctly with xp and when I reboot, I see the logo win xp for 1 second and then screen (0x0000007B) Blue

    I try safemode... nothing works

I have load mini windows xp from a cd and I see all the files on the hard disk from the cd of recovery if it s installed

I try to put the bios sata to ahci or compatible with the same problem

I try many times with the same problem on a different machine with the same problem

The laptop is returned to Toshiba (they have installed win xp from an original cd of microsoft, so I need activation, and I have to do this on 20 computers laptops and good course that no, the toshiba cd creator app, win the dvd...)

I contact toshiba, I'm not sure that they understand what I want, I got a new dvd of restoration with the same problem

Anyone has a solution I would be very happy

Maybe something to change in the bios but I don't know what?

    Thanks for any help

In General original Toshiba recovery image is tested and should work properly on certain model of laptop. If there is a problem with recovery original you should clarify this with Toshiba directly.
As far as I know the BIOS should be set to default settings and nothing should be changed in the BIOS settings when you want to use the recovery image.

All I can imagine is that there is something wrong in the image itself. In the past, I had a similar problem with old Portege 2000.

Is done: If you want to use the original image you must clarify this with Toshiba. Toshiba must offer good job recovery image. If you want to use own WXP then you must purchase the license for this. Toshiba has nothing to do with the activation of the OS.
(> I have to do this on 20 computers, laptops and of course not, the toshiba cd soft > creator, win the dvd...)
    How to understand this?
You want to buy a recovery disk and install it on 20 laptop computers Tecra absolutely identical?

  • Tecra A6 - need XP disks system problem?

I'm asking this for a friend who is not where I'm here slight inaccuracy

A friend has a Toshiba Tecra (probably A6, but not sure). When she starts, she gets a message:

    * Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM*

There is a Microsoft article to: [http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb; EN-US; Q307545] that describes what to do in these cried, but suppose you have access to an XP disc.

My friend thinks that there no XP disc when she got the machine. I'm guessing that Toshiba Tecras use a recovery partition instead of providing records?

Is this correct? If so how do modify you the instructions in the MS KB article so that they work for a Toshiba Tecra?

    Thank you

    Richard.

    Hello

I think you should first read the user manual, before you start a question here ;)

As you can see in the manual with the laptop is also a delivery Toshiba recovery disc. You can use it if you boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen everything that s! You return settings from factory within a few minutes.

Alternative, you can use a Microsoft XP's disk. All drivers and tools that you need you can get on the Toshiba site.

    Good bye

  • Tecra M2 attachment recovery

Hi guys, has joined this forum because I have a problem with my laptop, tecra M2. I have no knowledge of laptops / pc please bear with me. My laptop has recently developed a problem: when you turn away he invites me to insert the recovery CD, he's not even trying to load windows. The laptop was bought a refurbished Web site model and worked well at the beginning, but I think he has some kind of virus because because the laptop has no guarantee whatsoever.

It runs in XP Pro, and all programs and drivers were pre-installed when I got the machine I had literally just turn it on and go. I rang toshiba directly, they explained that windows do not have these recovery disks more for this version of model/windows. My local pc shop wants that in the region of £65 recover the laptop. I'll probably end up going for this option, if you guys can not offer any other method to resolve this problem!

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance, Dave.

    Hello Dave

In my opinion you must clean install of WXP. For this you need not to have the original disc recovery Toshiba.
For the installation of Windows XP Home edition, you can use Microsoft WXP installation disc. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, you can download from Toshiba support and download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

All Toshiba stuff must be installed in order to good facilities, but this isn't the problem, and we can put you right order.

So what you need to do now is get the installation disk of Windows XP Home edition with license key valid. Install the OS and let us know that OS is installed correctly.
Then you will get here command install with description how to find drivers, tools and utilities.
We will help you through the configuration and operating system installation.

    Next time.

  • Creating a product recovery disk

    Hello all,.

I currently encounter some technical problems with my Qosmio G20 which are almost certainly related material. Before I have to send my system back to people kind of Toshiba, I want to create a full backup of my current configuration of the system, or more specifically a product custom recovery disk similar to the one provided by Toshiba.

From what I understand of your average product recovery disk, it consists of an operating system that is scratched downwards (usually Windows 95/98) and a disk/partition image (which is to restore). It seems so that it is within the reach of us ordinary people to produce a bespoke, product recovery disc is possible and if so how should we do about it? Also (as my current setup probably carries a little more "inflate" than the original default factory configuration) is it possible to create a multi-disc product recovery solution?

I look forward to any assistance provided.

    Kinder,.
    Lee Hyde.

    Hello Lee

I guess you have preinstalled many useful applications and also optimized OS preinstalled. The same situation is on my laptop Tecra and if something goes wrong (defective HARD drive or a virus) I need hours to install and configure the new OS. Because of that I created my own recovery DVDs and also my own recovery image. To do this, I bought Norton Ghost 10.0.

By using this software, I created my own recovery image and recorded on the second partition. If the BONE is infected with the virus, I am able to recovery OS and it will be as before without any CD or DVD. I browse to the saved image and after 20 minutes, things go back like before.

Of course, you can create bootable DVDs and save the image ghost on DVD. It costs a bit, but trust me it's really good investment. Of course, on the market, you can find many other similar products. Also talk with your friends and colleagues. Maybe one of them has very good experiences in this regard.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you much about the recovery of product multi-disc.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Cannot restore my Tecra A10 from recovery disc

    Hello

I'm having a problem restoring my C disk from a disk image. The Toshiba HARD drive recovery utility seems to have disappeared from my computer.
When I followed the instructions for restoring (be it by pressing 0, or F8 during startup to access the HARD drive recovery utility) I finally get a message saying

"The creation of means of recovery is impossibe! File recovery HARD drive on the second disc of the first hard drive not found. There is no valid disk HARD recovery environment on this computer. »

(I get a similar message if I try to open the Toshiba recovery disc creator in the start menu)

Because this does not work, I tried using recovery discs that I have made previously using the same utility. I insert the disk and start the computer (according to instructions), but nothing happens and it starts Windows normally. How can I use these discs?

My laptop is a Tecra A10 16 d Windows vista professional.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

As much as I know saved on HARD drive recovery image can't disappear. I guess you did a few exchanges of structure of HARD drive and now recorded image is not found by the wizard of HARD drive recovery or Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. Both of these tools know where to look for it, but if they do not find specific markers you will get this message.

Now the only option for you is the use of recovery disks.
Do you use this disk for the first time now?
When you check the contents of the disc in Windows Explorer you will see the content?

Then try to boot using the created disc. Start Notepad, and then press F12. When the boot menu appears on the screen, place the disc in the ODD, choose the CD/DVD drive on the list and press ENTER.

What happens when you do this?
