Tecra M9 does not react to the product recovery CD

I love my Tecra M9. Fast, reliable and effective. I added an extra MB of ram when it is brand new or have added no extra charges.

But its been slow in place, as they do. I had one or two freezes, especially when the plug to the modem is removed, and I deleted somehow Tosh power system in the power options menu.

I thought that it time to re - install the XP.

I tried the fix on f8 when booting, but it just comes back by selecting XP.
(I don't have the menu to fix your computer)

So I backed up the entire hard drive.

I have just a product recovery disc. Put in, turned off, kept pressed f12, active and got the screen re - format.

BUT when the choice of the re - format it does not show the partitions, as it suggests it should. I select default XP and wait for it to go but then get error codes and later, a pc dead.

ERROR:10CTL_DISK_GET_LENGTH_INFO\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0

Then comes

DRIVE HARD #0 IS NOT ACCESSIBLE OR BAD RAID CONFIGURATION

Then

ERROR: COULD NOT GET DISK PHYSICS IOCTL_DISK_GET_DRIVE_GEOMETRY

I know that one of my sins does not create a bootdisk on a memory stick. I have only just read about it, I thought the CD was a startup disc but apparently not. Yes, I am ignorant.

The thing has an extended warranty, so I thought I'd return it to Tosh. But then again, this is probably not a big problem that needs to return it?

My apologies if I was a fool to the month, but help is appreciated, thanks.

Mish

Hello

It looks like something wrong with a recovery disk. You can try to install Windows using Winows copy disc?
If you did not, try to get one or download.

  • dose of the device does not react to the C++ code

    Hello.

    I have meassuring keithley 237 system, connected to the port COM4.

    And I commands manual keithley insturment.

    When I use assistant LabView Instrument IO and put in "query and analyze" the steps of these commands, the device reacts as it should.

    But when I try to write and run my own C++ code, device does not react.

    just no reaction at all!

    Maybe someone can help me and tell me what's missing.

    Here's my C++ code:

    #include #include "visa.h"

    using namespace std;int main (int argc, char *argv[]){       ViStatus status;    ViSession defaultRM, instr;    /* Open Default RM */    status = viOpenDefaultRM(&defaultRM);

        if (status != VI_SUCCESS) {        /* Error Initializing VISA...exiting */             return -1;        }

        /* Access other resources */    status = viOpen(defaultRM, "ASRL4::INSTR", VI_NULL, VI_NULL, &instr);

        // here I send commands to device    viPrintf(defaultRM, "F1,0X");           //  "F1,0X" and all another symbols in "" are just commands from keithley manual.          viPrintf(defaultRM, "B1E-6,0,X");    viPrintf(defaultRM, "L11,0X");    viPrintf(defaultRM, "P3X");    viPrintf(defaultRM, "O0X");    viPrintf(defaultRM, "N1X");    viPrintf(defaultRM, "H0X");

        viClose(instr);    viClose(defaultRM);

    return 0;}

    Hello

    There is an obvious problem in your code: viPrintf () accepts as a first parameter a session handle, which is "instr" variable returned by viOpen () in your case. Using the default resource manager leads to incorrect results (BTW, you must add to your code an error checking: I expect viPrintf () to return VI_ERROR_INV_OBJECT or similar error).

    As long as an additional indicator, I noticed that you use no termination for your messages: you should check in the documentation for the device if you need to add a stop character (the instruments most want a '\r' or '\r\n' sequence at the end of the messages to accept).

  • Tecra 8000 does not start after the BIOS update

    From one day to the other does not start my Tecra 8000 (400 MHz/256 MB BIOS 9.30 for years). After start-up, the disc starts to turn, but the screen including the backlight remains completely black, without red logo TOSHIBA BIOS is not accessible.

    I got a new mainboard on stock, so I replaced it, and it worked. Unfortunately now my WLAN card now did not work properly. I tried several settings of the BIOS with no results, so I decided to do an update of the BIOS from 7.50 to 9: 30. After the upgrade, I get the message "ROM WRITE successful, utility completed. LEADER BIOS: Tecra8000 v 9,30 ". Because what either kept silent, I pressed the power button to restart and heard a long and many short beeps (endless). I could interrupt what pressing the powerbutton for 5s.

    After turning on again I have the same problem as described in the first line :-( I can't get into the BIOS, but I can again update (with pressed F12). Once again these beeps.

    What to do with these beeps after average BIOS update? I replaced the MoBo connector LED with pension. Processor, memory, keyboard and HD has remained the same. So, before I start disassembling the machine, please notify, your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Joachim

    I'm not a technician and don t know what the beeps but I am afraid that the BIOS chip is damaged. Because of this, the unit is completely dead. Sorry, but I really don t believe you can do anything. Maybe the new motherboard again :(

  • Tecra M9: Does not start at the local network after the value of BIOS password.

    Hi all, I have configured a supervisor BIOS password on a number of Tecra M9s but later found that this does not allow books to be PXE started - and a number of them require now that rebuild.

    I tried pressing the cursor keys in the first screen flash "Toshiba" (with the device down icons), but this will not allow to select the boot device - it's as if the keys are not pressed.

    I also tried to get into the BIOS to change boot device priorities, but I can't just to get into the BIOS in a limited form - there is no prompt to enter BIOS password.

    In brief - how can I work around this? -J' I need to know how to get the BIOS to ask the supervisor password (pressing ESC then F1 at boot only gives me the 'limited' BIOS)... Or, how to get the laptop for a PXE boot with a BIOS supervisor password.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    I would recommend pressing the F12 key, immediately after that the laptop has been powered.
    This would allow the start on-screen menu.

    Then choose the HARD drive as the boot source.
    Then you could boot into the operating system and could use the Toshiba HWSetup to clear the supervisor password.

    I guess the password is known to you

  • Saved laptop does not appear on the product page

    I had saved my laptop using the utility of Toshiba registration on purchase.
    However when I try to search for the product in the site against the serial number, the product is not found.
    I tried to re-register, but was advised that the product is already registered.

    Good tips want to if there is any way I can get my registration data.

    Hello

    On what site you are looking for the serial number?

    If you are looking for drivers & downloads you need serial number n. Have a look here for downloads:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downlode > download drivers

    Otherwise, it would help if you post the exact links

  • Tecra S3 does not start when the multimedia center of Toshiba is connected

    Whenever I (re) start my Tecra S3 with the powered gigastore on (which is connected to the Media Center which is connected again to my dock via USB), my laptop only shows me the "toshiba" screen and doe not continues the start unless I turned off the gigastore and restart the laptop.

    What can I do?

    The same thing happened on my laptop while my external USB printer is connected to the computer. It has something to do with the BIOS.
    Hmmm, you can try to change the boot order in the BISO. Probably, it helps.

    I was an unlucky boy because the change of the boot order has not improved the situation. I had to unplug the printer or turn off the printer during the start-up procedure.

  • Windows does not start after the system recovery

    I have a Pavilion dv9700 w/Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium.

    After running the system since the disk partition recovery hard (supposed to be successfully), it restarts to:

    "Unable to start windows.  Recent change hardware or software may be the cause.

    "Insert the windows disc" - the computer did not come with one.

    «Computer or system manufacturer contact administrator»  -HP now wants to charge me for the real-time chat agree that came with my system was "free of charge as long as you own the PC."

    "File windows\system32\winload.exe".

    'status 0xc000000f '.

    'could not be loaded.  The file may be missing or damaged. »

    Help, please!

    Finally found someone who had a Vista disk, so I did a clean install, which fixed the problem.  Then, I downloaded and installed all the HP drivers/software.  It's a shame that computer manufacturers do not issue a disk with the operating system when they sell computers more.  If they gave me one, I could have it fixed in one day.

  • Why Tecra A3 does not start from CD/DVD?

    My laptop Tecra A3 does not react to the BIOS setting asking at the start of the CD/DVD.

    CD/DVD is the first place in the list of bootable devices (defined through F12 in boot sequence) the operating system starts with the HD. I have a chance to start with a bootable CD!

    The configuration is the following:

    Tip: TOSHIBA EAT10/EAT20
    BIOS: TOSHIBA V2.80 10/25/2006

    Any advice is welcome!

    Thanks in advance

    Antonio Giarrusso

    Have you tested with different CD bootable?
    Also try to start computer laptop using F12 and choose ODD as the first boot device.

    You can use ODD in Windows OS preinstalled?

  • Tecra S1 does not start and hangs at the splash screen (boot)

    Tecra S1 model PT831E-107EQ-GR

    Problems started a month ago. Randomly, he didn't not started. After some power or off attempts it finally started and worked properly. I bought a new hard drive (Toshiba 40 GB) because it happened more often. I got Acronis True Image and planned to clone a disk to the new disk. The problem is that a cell phone now won't start any more so I can't boot from a CD or hard drive. It stops at the logo 'In Touch... "with text" Press [F12] for boot device selection menu ' and does not react any key. I tried to boot with no CD, no disk hard - the same thing. I also connected internal HD using ATA to USB adapter - even. This means that it is not a disk problem but motherboard, or other components? Is it possible to get into the BIOS before boot selection screen?

    Kind regards
    Jacek

    Hello Jacek

    Try to enter the BIOS to ESC settings initially upwards.
    The question is strange and I do not think that anyone here can offer the exact diagnosis. The fact is, you can use multiple bootable devices but if there is something wrong with the motherboard HARD drive CD/DVD doesn't work. CD/DVD or HARD disk controller is maybe defective.

  • Tecra A7 - Intel PROSet / Wireless does not respond to the stop

    Hello

    during shutdown of my Tecra A7 the Intel PROSet/Wireless does not react, but must be completed manually.
    The last such Intel driver published by Toshiba download would help solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance for your support!

    Hello Christmas

    You can try to remove Inter PROSet and use the Windows settings for WLAN configuration.

    I don't have this problem, but you can also try installing the latest version of the Toshiba support page.

  • Tecra M2 does not start - the power light AC blinking orange

    Someone at - it a list of codes for the Tecra M2 flash.
    My friend has a laptop that does not start at the top. the AC power LED flashes orange. a long, short, long, short, long, short, long, short.

    I checked the battery and reinstall the RAM.
    Any IDE?

    Hello

    I agree with go.
    The ASP would be able to tell what means error.

    Usually means short and 1 long: 0
    So the error must be: 1010 1010
    Due to the last significant bit (LSB), to be read by behind:
    So it now means: * 0101 0101 binary *-> it must be converted to hexadecimal-> * 55 Hex *.

    Then, you will get a hex code.
    But unfortunately, I m not very well which could mean this code

    So ask ASP for help!

  • Tecra M2 does not start successfully - zeroes appear all over the screen

    Help!

    My Tecra M2 does not start. After the toshiba logo, a series of zeros (0) appear all over the screen.

    -suspect it is caused by a virus, I formatted the HD (in another PC), but still the zeros appear
    -I might want to start in the DVD player, it seems to read the disc, but nothing happens, just a cursor flashing at the top left of the screen
    -J' I reset / replaced the RAM, but still no effect.
    -the power button works, lights and shuts the laptop but does not start.
    -CPU fan works
    -LED indicators of work are power, battery, dvd, wireless. Does not have HD LED light on.

    Any suggestions on how to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.
    See you soon!

    Hello

    I think we can exclude HARD disk failure because you are able to format it in another computer.
    As you suggest the RAM modules has been replaced but the problem persists
    So in my opinion, a motherboard problem would be possible

    But as you know, it of really difficult to say what might be exactly wrong
    I think that the technician should check the laptop then it would be possible to say what part is malfunctioning

    In any case, I think a motherboard might be affected
