Telnet Monitoring port in Foglight

Hi all

At present I'm migrate all servers linux monitoring Nagios to Foglight and comparing Nagios check Foglight Infrastructure cartridge, I found that there is no verification of telnet port. Y at - it a cartridge that will take care of this type of surveillance or I need to write custom Foglight cartridge?

Thank you

Shashank Soni.

Foglight doesn't do this out of the box, but it can be configured.  Check out these two positions: one and two.

That said, I hope that you check that the telnet port is not open.  No one should use telnet these days, it isn't safe. Use ssh.

  • Telnet to port specific vty

I know that it is possible to reverse-telnet on a specific serial port on some routers by telnet to a specific tcp port. For example:

reverse-Telnet for Interface Async 5 with a TTY, 5 row identifier would you telnet to the local IP address of router to port 2005

I would like to have the same capacity with vty ports.

I have a router that uses Cisco Lock-key authentication and to add a dynamic access list entries to any host ip that connects to port vty 0. I also want the ability to connect on the router itself in order to establish an EXEC session. To do this, currently I have to open a second telnet session before the vty 0 ends.

To make a long story short, here's how I would want it to work.

move the lock and key of port vty authentication 4

Telnet to port 20004 to go connect to the vty port 4

generic telnet to port 23 will turn by previous vty ports 0-3 as usual to establish the EXEC session.

Is this feasible? If Yes, please provide an example of configuration and/or instructions.

    Thank you.

In fact, you can configure the vty as a rotating group.

    line vty 4

    transport of entry all

    rotating 4

You can telnet to the router on port 3004. 23 is also open to if, but you can use a class access to restrict the use to vty 4 if necessary.

Or by using the (dirtier) NAT:

IP nat inside source static tcp 172.16.55.1 23 172.16.55.1 2002 extensible

    interface Ethernet0

    IP 172.16.55.1 255.255.255.0

    interface...

then a VGA - VGA cable

    > What do I need?

Well, the phone supports only the output HDMI port. This port sends the signal video and audio digital.

In the case where your external monitor supports only RGB (VGA) port, you will need to use some sort of adapter/converter, which would be able to convert the digital signal HDMI to VGA analog signal.

I put t know if the adapter might work, but you will not get sound because VGA does not support audio, only video signal.

  • Connect to monitor files using Foglight 5.6.4

    Hello

We try to use the filter of the journal agent to control the log files in our guarded environment. With the help of documents and help forums, we have known that he collect newspapers reviews and put them in the log of events and we alert.

We are in doubt, if the agent works the same for PHP applications as well? If Yes, what is the required access to the configuration of the agent on the servers PHP... and these are all components required for the deployment of the agent on the application server (as PHP applications supported versions)...

Please share us the info on this because it is very urgent and important...

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Guenoun.

Logfilter agent should work for application logs (application servers, the client connects, it doesn't care if it's PHP, Weblogic, different version or simply you have Developer logs), it's a very simple agent, once it's pointing to text log file it leans on the lines that are added to the file and send notifications when he sees the pre-defined keywords that indicate a problem...

You can see an example of the use of logfilter here

    http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/performance-monitoring/Foglight-administrators/w/Admins-wiki/5646.monitoring-application-availability-using-Foglight-utility-agents

You must install Foglight Agent manager on the target computer, you must deploy agent logfilter, to point to the log files and to indicate what keywords are a symptom of a problem and the attention of what say that they indicate.

If you have a restricted environment, you can install fglam as the same user who is creating/writing these log files.

    Hope this helps

  • PIX 515E and Telnet to port 25

When I telnet (in or out) on a mail server (using port 25) the answer is:

When I put the old (no - pix) firewall, this does not happen (the responses are complete and commands work fine.)

A lot of email is coming and going, but some mail servers cannot send email.

This is common for misconfiguration and where should I look?

  • Satellite L650-0ED - ports external monitor and turn off WiFi

    Hey,.

    1. I have a Satellite L650/0ED, I was wondering if the HDMI and the external monitor port start when starting and if they cause the start time of the laptop to be slower. If they do slow down the start how disable them you using Device Manager, since I looked, I tried to disable the Device Manager; but I can't find them anywhere on the list of devices.
They have a special code name or something?

    2. based on my understanding, the manual of instruction/userguide Toshiba mentions if I press FN + F8 it turns off the wireless amber light but this is not the case, since the amber wireless is still or not. I have the wireless active or disabled.
It say it's so I have the wireless off of amber or the - Orange must be turned off when I press FN + F8 and is not, why is this?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

    1. No, they cause t a slower start. He doesn't know me and as long as I know it of not possible to disable the ports in the BIOS. Then n t you worry about this, even, you have connected external screens, boot time is the same.

    2. Yes, usually you can activate the WLAN functionality by using the FN + F8 key combination.
I put t have the laptop in front of me, but normally if you don t have a hardware wireless switch, you can disable the wireless network adapter in the BIOS. Just put permits for disabled people and that should be all! :)

  • Is Satellite M70-339 supports port external monitor?

This model has a (d - Sub 15-pin) port for connecting an external monitor? -The data sheet on this site does not list one!

Copy of it please respond to [email protected]

    Thank you

    Hello

I put t found any information on the satellite M70-339, but on the M70-337.
I think that the two units are not different and the ports are the same.

However, as far as I know the M70-337 supports RGB (monitor) port on the left side, and you can connect the external monitor to this port.
This device supports also a s-video port to connect the TV to the unit.

    Good bye

  • HP Deskjet 3050 j610: what is the port port HP rediscovered network monitor?

On my trips with the 3050, I noticed a port with the description "HP network rediscovered port monitor", called CN * HX. (this name is the serial number of the printer, I discovered)

My assumption is that it is somehow, which re - assigned IP address of the device.

I want to put a static for my printer IP address, so that it is predictable on several machines, use it on a wireless network, at different times - rather than a new allocated IP address from time to time as one or the other computer online or stops.

The CP applet using devices and printers, the print server properties, I can't delete this port. On different computers, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, I have the same port when I installed the HP Deskjet 3050 (in both cases, undivided and as devices on the same wireless network).

    Is this necessary?

    Hello @westernwombat,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I hope you have a pleasant experience here.

I would help to shed some light on questions about the rediscovery of HP Network Port Monitor.

As a general rule, when you install an HP printer via a wireless connection, the software will automatically set up the printer on a rediscovery of HP Network Port. Basically, this port is bound to the monitor so that it will scan the network for your printr before sending a print job (just in case the printer's IP address changes). Function of your network, this can be really useful so that you are not having to reconfigure your printer at any time your restart your router.

The monitor Port Discovery is the part of the software that actually seek the network your printer. If you plan affecting an IP address manually for you printer and to a manual TCP/IP port to print directly to this IP address then you probably don't need the service running.

I hope that answers your question!

  • problems with the IPCC monitoring server port

I have 4.0 (4) IPCC Express Premium with Call Manager 4.1 (2). I have a server with two NIC a 'normal' IPCC and other oversight bodies. I have configured the port monitoring with a few other IP (172.16.255.10/24) and I set up RSPAN on switches. I see a call between officers and the appellants.

But, after a reboot of the server, I get the error that my server will stop after a minute. I cann't see ane packages from monitor port. When I disable the port monitor and restart the server everything is OK and then I can activate the monitor port and everything is OK.

I have nothing in the registry settings.

  • Satellite Pro6100 - external monitor not showing movies

I searched but couldn't find anything related. I wanted to watch a movie through the external monitor port connected to a projector. I could see all the big screen except the movie itself.
I checked the laptop screen and the film on this subject but it is not cloned - I just get the border of media player and the buttons but it shows only a black screen, not the film.

I tried a friend's Tecra 9000 and it shows the film perfectly. What gives?
Updated the BIOS and I have the latest drivers Toshiba provided and followed all the guides for TV out, monitor, cloning, setting resolution etc, just have not found the magic combination.

    > I checked the laptop screen and the film on this subject but it is not cloned - I just get the border of media player and the buttons but it shows only a black screen, not the film.
The settings collection can be all problems as suggested by Akuma.
In addition it is very important that you switch the display on external monitor first before you start the movie!

  • Tecra A8: external keyboard connected to the serial port: the necessary specific configurations?

    Hello
I want to share a monitor and an external keyboard with Tecra A8 and a desktop computer. To do this, I bought a switch 2-port Linksys where I plugged the external monitor and a keyboard. With the monitor without problem because there is a specific port for this. However my Tecra has only 3 USB ports and a serial port 6-pin where I connected (with a 6-pin Mini DIN adapter) on the keyboard. When I turn on the screen it's ok, but the keyboard (I also tried a mouse) does not work. Do I need a specific configuration on the serial port to accept the external keyboard? If so, what commands do I need on the XP operating system?
    Thank you
    Luis

RGB (monitor) port used to connect the external monitor.
If you want to connect the external keyboard, you have to use the USB ports.
Additional legacy USB emulation must be enabled for the keyboard.
These settings you can change in the Toshiba HWSetup under control panel.

If you connect multiple devices to the switch USB (hub) Please be sure that the USB hub using external power.
A low power USB could be a reason for the external USB device failure.

  • Port Replicator Slim 2 - resolution wide screen

    Hello

Consider buying a Slim Port Replicator 2 for my Portege R500.
I have two questions about the Replicator:

The maximum specified. resolution is 1600 x 1200. I want to connect a monitor with a resolution of 1680 x 1050. Will this work?

I'm using linux and I'm worried if there is some kind of windows driver only required to operate the Replicator?

    Hello

I m not port replicator expert but to my knowledge the Slim Port Replicator 2 supports 1 x RGB (monitor), 1 x DVI port (video) that allows a resolution of 1600 x 1200 max.

As mentioned the DVI port supports 1600x1200px max and other higher resolution is not possible.
But maybe you'll be able to choose your favorite of the 1680 x 1050 resolution using RGB (monitor) port

    Best regards

  • Connect the second VGA monitor to Pavilion HPE

    Hello

I have a Pavilion HPE h8-1114 PC, that has a DVI and HDMI monitor port. I have a VGA monitor connected to the DVI port with an adapter. I have a second VGA monitor, I want to connect, but I understand that it cannot be connected to the HDMI port. Are there other options besides buying a HDMI monitor? Can I use one of the covered ports which I think is VGA? (I guess not.) Can I add a second graphics card with a VGA port and use both screens? (I saw on another post that adding another graphics card could disable the existing card). Can I opt for a card that supports two VGA or DVI ports?

    Thank you!

In addition what erico said, there are other options. You can use a video-to-USB adapter of EVGA UV plus + 19 or you can add a x 1 PCIe graphics card. If with a PCIe x 1, using a card Nvidia... results will be the best in this way.
