  Of course, everything is theoretically possible ;) but practice isn't very easy.
  To my knowledge, Toshiba doesn't support any replacement of CPU and upgrades and so I don t think you will get a new BIOS specially for this laptop.

  The F30 seems to be a new laptop. Therefore, you must know that you will lose your warranty if you open the notebook and remove the CPU!

• Qosmio G30-163 - Installation Bluetooth - wedge several times to 10%

  I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-163 under MCE XP SP3. I am re-install the drivers after a corrupted registry problem.

  The laptop has Bluetooth hardware installed. I downloaded the latest Toshiba BT Stack s/w for XP and I'm trying to install it. I have so far. Installation takes over at the helm of the 99%. Then another window opens "Install Bluetooth Drivers". It has a blue progress bar. It stops at 5 bars = 10% full. It hangs there - although there is considerable activity on the main hard drive. Finally, I cancel the installation. The main installation window responds with Installation. But the BT service is not running.

  I raised a ticket with Sitecom, but the response has been to remove all the drivers because the dongle is just plug and play. This is false. The unit will not work without the drivers!

  I am also installing a dongle Sitecom CN 516 Bluetooth on my Acer Aspire One 532 h running Win 7 Starter. I try to install the latest Toshiba BT Stack s/w for Win 7 (32 bit). Yet once that seems to happen at about 99% completion. Then another window opens "Install Bluetooth Drivers". It has a blue progress bar. It also stops at 5 bars = 10% full. It hangs there - although there is still considerable activity on the main hard drive. A popup window opens then 'Insert Bluetooth Device', I have in fact already done. I click OK. Five minutes later the same popup window appears asking once again the BT device to be plugged. I click OK. It is repeatable. Finally, I cancel the installation. The main installation window responds with Installation. But the device does not work.

  What goes wrong if it pleases you, and how do I me BT to work in both scenarios? Thank you very much.

  The laptop is already equipped with an internal BT module.
  But the BT module must be enabled in order to complete the installation procedure.
  Please use the key combination Fn + F8 to active the BT, then check if the bar progresses.

  Try turning off the Windows Firewall. Or if you have installed a lot of 'Internet Security', reconfigure or disable the firewall.

  AFAIK that Toshiba strongly advised not to change the configuration of RAID in the BIOS because by selecting the incorrect settings may destroy the data on your hard disks.

  But please take extra precautions when changing the RAID configuration to avoid accidental loss of data!

  1. turn on your laptop, and then press [ESC] until a message: "check the system. Then press [F1]. »

  2. Press [F1] to enter the BIOS Setup.

  3. press on [PGDN] twice to move to the third page of the BIOS.

  Note:
  The RAID-1 (mirroring) stored data twice (on two HDDS) so that even if there are problems with the other HARD drive HARD drive can be used to retrieve the data.

• Qosmio G30-163: WLan signal is too weak

  I have a new Toshiba G30-163 with Intel Proset wireless 3945ABG card.

  My internet connection is broadband via a Linksys router, and the router is away from the 2 rooms.

  It fluctuates between 2 bars bars 0 signal and changes between 60 kb/s and 6 KB/s download speed. The fan will also complete whenever I try to connect to the internet.

  I have places than an old portable Satellite of 4 year next to my laptop and it picks up 3 bars of signal.
  My neighbour is able to get 3 bars signal also on another laptop (at about 20 meters).

  1. I installed the latest drivers from Toshiba without change.
  2. I have installed the latest drivers and software from Intel Proset and Toshiba with no. change (V105159 and Toshiba 1050174) and (V10.5.0.3 of Intel)
  3. I turned the power to Max on map Proset to no effect.
  4. I disabled power save also, but now that the internet option disconnects more frequently.
  5. I bought a card Linksys thinking that it would be more compatible with the router, but no change.
  6. I get full signal - 5 bars - when using the laptop next to a strong WiFi area.

  So in summary.
  Two other laptops, an old Toshiba, one can pick up a signal of great connection - one next to me and the other as far.
  I upgraded to the latest version of the Intel Proset software and drivers and always poor-to-no signal with signal falls.

  I wonder if there is a way to test if the problem is something else on the laptop, statuette etc.?

  I understand your problem, but I have a question. Your Qosmio there so weak signal just with the home router? I realized that the signal is good enough when it is connected to another router.

  I guess that you have sought in the wrong place on the page of European driver of Toshiba.

  Please choose product type (first option) of the Archive.

  Go into the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

  Remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD, and then restart the laptop.
