• Background color TestStand UI SequenceView controls

  (I use LabVIEW 2013 SP1, Teststand 2014)

  I would like to change the Visual properties of the TestStand UI SequenceView control. (and more specifically the background color)

  Indeed, what right click on the control and select SequenceView > properties I am able to access certain properties of the control in edit mode.

  I have also set the property ApplicationMgr.UseStepListConfigurations to False as suggested so properties apply in run Mode.

  What works -

  When I removed some columns, change remains also in run mode,

  What doesn't work - no

  When I change the color of background (in blue in the attached VI), it applies only in the edit mode. In run mode, it returns to the default gray color

  Please open the attached VI and see that if you run it, the number of columns is 2 (Run mode), and when you set the property ApplicationMgr.UseStepListConfigurations to True, the number of columns (in run mode) is 4.

  Questions-

  Do you know how to make the background color applied in runtime as well?

  Can I access the properties of the control programmatically?

  attached you will find your vi with the changes that I applied.

  I placed the property BackColor in the while loop just to show that the color changes in edit mode.

  The strange thing is that the U32 to the background color is formatted differently than RGB: If you take the RGB color function you get a specific color; If you apply this color to BackColor, you get color with B and G opposite.

  This is why you will see in the VI that I traded values of B and G.

• Which supplier Source control would you recommend for a single developer on a labVIEW project moderately important

  I have not used a front Source control provider.  My hope is that I don't have to deal with a large learning curve in using the basic features of a source control provider.

  Also curious is the most popular provider used by LabVIEW developers.

  If you are getting started with Subversion (Tortoise SVN is the 'client' to a Subversion server), you have the choice between three options:

  1. Use a server Subversion maintained by your company or your University.  (I, fortunately, put at my disposal one).
  2. Use a commercial Subversion server.
  3. 'Rolling' (which means that the other host a server yourself, on your PC or on another PC, or simply use a 'local' repository).

  I listed them in the following order (according to me) that it is "desirable".  I, myself, would be enough worked to avoid Option 3, because it puts all the "eggs in one basket', in other words, you must assume the responsibility of not only keep your code Committed/updated the repository, but you must keep secure, backed up repository, and 'remote' (if your house burns down and the external unit containing the repository also goes up in flames you lost everything).

  I recently started a collaboration with a colleague in the Canada.  Because of institutional policies, I couldn't access our server local to Subversion, but found that assembled (www.assembla.com) offered a Subversion server access at a reasonable cost.

  Once you have identified a server, get your created repository and your project saved in the repository is not too difficult.  A practice I found works well is to organize the filing of LabVIEW, one project per repository projects, with the name of deposit is the name of the project.  I have adopted the model of trunk/branches/tags subfolder for the repository (i.e. the filing "Of Bob Project" will have a trunk, a branches and a subfolder of tags), with most of the activity taking place in the trunk.  I try to use the branches almost never, but that's another story.

  There are a number of tools to put "hooks" in Subversion in LabVIEW.  My personal preference is to do all my work of Subversion at the level of the Explorer of Windows files, validation and updating of entire projects to the end and beginning of work sessions (commit to the end, updated at the beginning).

• Using microsoft TFS source control

  I'm putting in place source code in labview control using Microsoft TFS. I have installed on my TFS machine but when I try to implement source code control I get the None choice on the traction to the bottom of the box for the selection of the source control. The help file said it should Auto complete by reading the registry to determine what kind of source code control is used.

  Any suggestion would be appreciated

  To connect with TFS an additional plugin is required. There seems to be at least two versions of the plugin - 2008 and 2010. Here are the links:

  Once the plugin is installed, an entry for TFS should appear in LabVIEW.

• HR HTML 9.02 and Source Control 3.1 will not save files in design mode, only the HTML view.

  We use RoboHelp 9.02 (just 9 and charged the next day so up-to-date, we 9,02) and Robo Source Control 3.1 and when we check a file and change the file, we can not save the file in Design view.  If we click on the HTML mode, we can save the file.  We have reproduced this on multiple files at the same time our computers accessing the server.  Now using RoboHelp HTML on a local project is functioning normally, only when we have access to the files on the server we select the HTML mode in order to save the topic.

  While this is an acceptable work around short term, we need this bug to get fixed unless someone knows of a checkbox somewhere that we must check in design mode to record and studied.

  I will be happy to provide you with any input and or test the additional fixes to help to fix this bug.  It is completely reproducible and constant on all tested subjects.  Source code control works insofar as this case the subject is verified by one the other cannot access the topic.  Once the topic is saved in HTML, then the subject can be archived and changes are visible by the other author.

  After the installation of Robo 9, Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 has been removed from the computer and MS Word 2000 did not work.  I've upgraded to Office/Word 2003 and I can now use Word 2003.  I have not attempted to reload Acrobat yet but that is next on my list.  Acrobat Professional was removed from these two computers during the installation.  Word 2000 exists only on the laptop.  I was in the queue to get updated later in the year, so they gave me a key and Word 03 seems to operate normally.  Did not check the Excel or PowerPoint 2000.

  Other news, you may be interested to know:

  • Both computers use Windows XP.
  • Both have office 2003.  -C' is because Word 2000 stopped working when Robo 9 has been installed.
  • Both have with max memory 32-bit operating systems.
  • Both have multiple monitors.
  • One is a laptop, the other is a desktop computer.
  • Both computers had 8.02 Robo? but RH8 was uninstalled before installing RH9.
  • 3.1 source code control has not been reinstalled on the server since version was the same that came with RH9
  • Source control has been reinstalled as a step of troubleshooting on the laptop without change.
  • RSO3 middle-tier service is running on all 3 computers and RSO3 server runs on the server pc.
  • Two users have administrator rights so all of the checkboxes are checked for access and control.

  Having identified some problems in our global variable file in another project, I had a look at this project and found a few variables were empty, have a mystery character input or information applied to the variable fonts.  Rather than change back the variable only one digit or a character with no set form and text input in variables of the virgins, I deleted the unused variables of the project that just happened to 99% of the variables because we divided this part of the project in a booth along the project.  Remove the variables solved the problem where we had to switch from Design view to HTML view in order to save a topic.  I find this rather strange since none of the topics referenced stray variables.  Now we have only the variable of the version that refers to all subjects in the foot.  Everything seems to work fine now.  If you encounter this problem, have a good look at your file of global variables, line by line, to see if there is something other than text or numbers and delete everything except for the text.

  Currently, I have about 25-30 items displayed there and it takes about 2 to 4 seconds to load the menu, I would just have to charge about 10 Articles and give me the ability to scroll the rest of them. Any help would be appreciated!

• All files in ADF application to be source controlled what

  I created ADF Application and run with two or three pages, now I would like to source code control, now I see the files of batch and dir as part of my project, how to determine what all the controlled source files?

  Do not merge the Directory classes. All that needs to go.
  directories like CBC, adfmsrc, public_html, WEB - INF, META-INF must go.

  I guess this is same reason that the ToolTip has a static installation for nodes in control - i.e. method for javafx.scene classes as node have a dependency on javafx.control classes.

  Add an eventhandler to your rectangle (e.g. mouseclicked) and call contextMenu.show () in the eventhandler.

  I have a webhelp from RoboHelp 6 project that I would like to publish in a batch every night. While RoboHelp provides practical instructions, these provide guidance to do this, if the project is in source code control. I use RoboSource Control 3. Any ideas?

  As as I know the source code control has nothing to do with the generation of the output. You're after a way for HR check out of source code control project, compilation and then check it in? If so, I don't think it can be done automatically via the batch generate function. You will ensure the projects to build are extracted before the build is run.

• New tabs in version 06/03/16 will be no open no bar or menu or control t

  When I click on new tab on the tab bar, or click Control T, a new tab will not open. It worked until I just upgraded to version 06/03/16.

  Uninstall the toolbar Ask and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask and Firefox toolbar that prevents the opening of new tabs.

  There are a few places to check for the Ask toolbar:

  before I re-implement Menubar to support the tree, I was wondering is there a component that will support that somewhere, basically what I want is to have a possibility to show treeControl as one of the menus on the menu bar, I would say Menubar has currently a hardDependency on Menu object even though he could have typed as a list and this tree may also be able to leverate menu bar , but there may be some menu property dependencies hard I have not specified but anyway summary question:

  is it possible to have trees showup everytime the bar menu menuItem is clicked instead of the Menu?

• Source control of database - separate files for each object...

  I have always used a tool that has a repostory as Designer, Erwin and now ERStudio to keep and maintain my database and the objects together in one place. Now, you asked us to make a file for each package, proc, func, trigger, table, view, sequence and others and store these files in a CVS tool. I basically keep Oracle Forms applications and have a lot of things. I'm not working on a JAVA application where I could get one or two procs PLSQL for archive - as appropriate. Seems a lot of work for me when I can click a few buttons and save my entire schema in the repository or export a single big SQL file and check in CVS for each version. Whence this control a separate file in the CVS idea ever come and how is this better than using a repository tool or a single big SQL file for each version?

  You can check if the tool that you use to design has some kind of ability to connect to the CVS tool. I know that JDeveloper.

  I would say that the benefits of multiple files in a single file is just the ability to better track what changes affect what parts of the application. This is important for testers be able to focus and easier to track problems.

  The people who are pushing for motivated individual files documented why they think it's a better way to keep the changes?

• -error 18370, CCS system has not been initialized

  I get the error in the subject when choosing the menu source control/scc provider options.  I use necessarily, and I have a workspace open with projects and files.  In addition, when you want to configure/options/source control station, I don't necessarily see in the menu dropdown.  Is there maybe a module that I missed when installing teststand?  I know that I used this in the past, but stopped when I realized that the directories in the workspace are not auto, limiting its usefulness.  I went back to using P4V.  But now I use a workspace of teststand deployment and would like to get the source code control works again.  Any ideas?
