TestStand start programmatically a sequence

Hello!

I would create a VI (GUI) which is supposed to be a launcher for teststand sequences.

Is it possible to open teststand (operator GUI) and load a file of sequence selected using a VI?

Thank you!

  • How to with Labview startup window hidden when Teststand start loading

I have Teststand development enviroment and Labview development environment installed on my computer, my use of Labview teststand adapter applications. It is every time when I start the application being Teststand, Labview, window pop auto-start - up, I wish to customize this behavior to let Labview just show in the taskbar.

When you distribute applications, everything has to run in the runtime engine (RTE). It should not require development environments (Dev Env) must be installed on the machine at all.

That being said, I recommend you configure the TS LV adapter to run the screw into the TEN. Which will automatically get rid of dialog to launch like this is part of the Env of Dev of LV.

Create a new user account on your computer.  Give administrator privileges.  Launch RP and trying to send a sequence to the SOUL.  It work?  If so, the trash your preferences of Pr in your user account.

In addition, if you do not use your account as an administrator, you should.  At the very least, set the Premiere Pro executable file to run as administrator.

  • Start an action sequence set by name within a native Acrobat Plugin (C++)

    Hi people,

I'm trying to understand how to run a named sequence of batch (built by the wizard of the action) in Acrobat X via the native API of Acrobat. I couldn't find a function in the SDK that could run a sequence on the active document.

Can you point me to the right direction or tell me the function of wich I have to call, to achieve this.

    Thank you very much.

  • The execution of the sequence TestStand in LabVIEW via TS - API: execution different times for the same sequence

Hello - the members of the Forum.

I have a problem about the execution of a TestStand sequence into LabVIEW. I created a VI that offers the possibility to choose a sequence TestStand-file and then executes the sequence using the TestStand API. The implementation is based on an example in C++-Application found the following link:

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/NI-TestStand/unreleased-references-using-engine-API-in-C/m-p/2927314#M46034

The app works pretty solid where the VI is executed the first time. The VI treats the sequence chosen in an acceptable time.

But where execution is started again, the sequence takes approx. 30 sec more than in the first case.

So far I have not found a solution and hope someones got a clue about this problem...

    I use 2013 LabVIEW and TestStand 2013.

I enclose my own VI, a sequence of the specimen with a small sample of VI, so you can reproduce the problem.

    Kind regards

  • Analyzer of sequence running from the command line in TestStand 2010

    Hello

I would like to be able to run and control the stand-alone command line sequence Analyzer.  I can do that in 2014 TS (and it seems that I could patch versions as soon as 2012 TS to give them this ability), as described here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/B927893F26BFB64A86257ECE006E442D

However, I work with a large existing codebase in 2010 TS (with no intention to migrate to a newer version, in the foreseeable future).  Is it possible to get the same functionality from command line in the 2010 version of the parser?

I know that I can open the command line parser, but are the commands, I am interested in: analyze, report, / save, /clearMessagesOnSave, / minimize, / help, / / leave.

    Thank you!

    Thanks Ryan, Jigg,

Yes, I can run the parser (and opened a project), but basically, I can't run anything.

I realized what I do by writing a TestStand sequence that calls the parser to sequence through its API (attached).  I can then run TestStand (and call this sequence) from the command line.

    HI Kirk,

You can attach your VMMARK2.config file?  Also, what are the versions of STAF and STAX do you use?  Finally, can you confirm that on your client0 c:\vclient0\mailserver\vmmark2template.xml exists and that it is in this exact path?

  • Active sequence shown

    Hello

There is an application that uses the TestStand UI.

Starts the main sequence and a parallel sequence called later and this is reflected on the front panel of the user interface.

Is it possible to define the steps of the sequence that are displayed on the user interface?

For example "active sequence" on the front panel?

    Thanks in advance.

    István

I think that the simplest solution would be to disable tracing for parallel step.

  • Control the execution of different threads in TestStand

    Hi all

I'm trying to control multiple threads in a sequence file.  I have if I'd be able to use the following

ThisContext.Thread.Execution and then terminate / break / etc as you wish.

I'm starting a new sequence threaded in the process configuration.  I want to close the original sequence and then displays a message that the user clicks.

    I have two problems:

1 ThisContext.Thread.Execution is identical in both threads.  If it should not be different?

    2. everything stops when I complete the thread and not only the sequence called the new thread.  I imagine that this is directly linked to the 1.

Does anyone know how to close a message from another thread?

    Thank you

    Sean

    Hi Sean

1.) it is clear. An execution can contain multiple Threads

but, a thread can belong to just a single run for.

(2.) in my opinion it is not easy to terminate, if I'm honest do not know if it is really possible!

If you have to terminate beside a thread I always use a new run rather a thread.

It seems that Ray has had the same problem

  • For Satellite Pro M70 boot sequence

    Issues related to the:

    1. What is the default setting for the boot to the Satellite Pro M70 sequence?

    2. What is the procedure for changing the boot during the start-up phase sequence?

    3. What is the most 'sensitive' boot sequence, with & without an attached external floppy drive?

    Thank you
    AlanCB

Well, I'm not 100% sure but I think the default start setting is:
    DISK HARD-CD/DVD-FDD-LAN
However, you can set and change parameters in the Toshiba HWSetup that is located in Control Panel.

Just FYI: by pressing a key during POST, you can choose the boot device.
    D - default system
    U USB FDD
    1 - disc HARD bed
2 - slim select bay (if available) HDD
    C - CD rom
    N - network LAN
P - PC HDD (PCMCIA) card

But these options are not always available.

  • LP2475w monitor R-G-B-black-white color sequence

    Hello

recently my LP2475 shows no more the OSD. When I tried to change the input source (DVI-> HDMI), I accidentally pushed an unknown button combo, which causes the display to start showing the sequence of R-G-B-black-white color.

I tried the solution described here (/t5/Monitors/LP2475w-cycles-colors-while-sleeping/td-p/5441593 (traction power cord & push power button for 60 seconds)), but without success.

    Any suggestions?

    Yes, I fixed it!

  • Display "about of NI TestStand... "LabVIEW

I create a LabVIEW UI that calls TestStand to perform the sequence files and I want to include an element to display the window 'about NI TestStand... "the menu, but I can't understand to tell TestStand to launch the window of LabVIEW.

Can someone direct me to the appropriate API call or for example?

The About dialog box is not incorporated in the engine, but there are methods of engine to get all of the information displayed on this.

See using the API for the following:

    Engine.VersionString

    Engine.GetLicenseDescription)

    Engine.GetProductRegistrationInfo)

  • Call a DLL in TestStand by reference

    All,

I developed a DLL that control a USB based power. The call of the dll works from TestStand 4.1 most of the time. What I think is happening, is that whenever I call the dll in my main sequence of the file as well as other files in sequence, as several instances of the dll is loaded.

Part of the init of food must pass back a SESSION number that is used in subsequent calls to the dll. I store as a global variable in TestStand and pass around sequence that never he needs.

How can I load the DLL at the beginning of the sequence and PASS a reference (handle) to all other calls to the dll?

    Thanks in advance

    Carmine

    Doug,

Thanks for your help. I found a UnLoadModules() in one of the child seq that I missed. Unless I missed all the others, I think this should be resolved.

  • Variable not expandable Container by calling sequence

    Hi all

I created a custom variable (of type def in Labview) who is a type of container.  The front panel controls and indicators of my module code for the custom variable.  If I use the variable type custom in my sequence of high level, it seems to work ok.  However, if I use in my void sequences and pass it as a parameter to the next level call sequence, the parameter is not extensible, which means that I can't select individual items for logging, or a reassignment.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.
