Display "about of NI TestStand... "LabVIEW

I create a LabVIEW UI that calls TestStand to perform the sequence files and I want to include an element to display the window 'about NI TestStand... "the menu, but I can't understand to tell TestStand to launch the window of LabVIEW.

Can someone direct me to the appropriate API call or for example?

The About dialog box is not incorporated in the engine, but there are methods of engine to get all of the information displayed on this.

See using the API for the following:

Engine.VersionString

Engine.GetLicenseDescription)

Engine.GetProductRegistrationInfo)

Hope this helps,

  • Question about local variable in LabVIEW

I am a new bie to LabVIEW.

I have a question about local variable in LabView.

I tried to stop a loop by the local variable, but the value of the loop for counter is different with my hope.

I think that the loop to stop at 6, but he stopped at 7.

    Could someone help me?

This looks exactly like a race condition.  You have know control if the control terminal is first in reading or the local variable is written to the first.

Try to run your code to highlight execution.

In your code, what usually happens is that order is read and the value is false.  Then the other code will run allowing the value to write to the local variable.  Let's say that in a particular loop iteration, we get the True value.  But control of the final value has already been read as false, then the loop runs again.  The next iteration of the Terminal is read and then he sees the true, will force to stop no matter what happens in the rest of the loop the loop.

So, why do you use a local variable instead of sending just the wire to the terminal stop?

  • Launch the operator of TestStand, LabVIEW Interface via ActiveX

    Hello

I create a simple VI in which I select a product in a list number and press Go. The VI is used to ensure that the most recent sequence file is open and is not inteneded to replace the OI, simply start with a single click.

I don't know that I am takign the right approach at all, that I know very little about ActiveX, but am trying to learn! When I run the VI, I am prompted to select a file sequence and connection, and that's all. TestStand windows never appears. It's just a setting that is incorrect, or will the approach I take work, as I am access API instead of just opeing the application?

I removed all the extra features (dropdown list, the configuration file, etc.) from the code included as it works very well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

What you do are from TestStand without the interface, and then you set the sequence to use.  I think that there is another necessary step indicating the sequence to start really and not only the application.

It looks like no this is what you want to do, because the intention is that you can then use these tools ActiveX to create sequence files, or run them, without running the sequence editor which is what you normally see when you run TestStand.

I've never tried, but you can look at this article on the launch of sequence files from the command line which allows to LabVIEW.

  • Passing parameters to TestStand LabVIEW vi

    Hallo,

I'm fighting with retrieving the value of a vi ON the parameter of type string ASCII of the basic_serial_write_and_read.vi (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/2669)

I have assigned a local Variable of type string and assigned this expression to the vi ON the parameter 'read the string '.

When you run the sequence, however, the value of the local Variable is not updated! (?)

I can see the returned ASCII string of UUT on Tracker of e/s OR.

The basic_serial_write_and_read.vi works well in LabVIEW.

I'm just getting started, but cannot understand this. I would be grateful of any advice.

  • How I replace perfectly my record excel sheet with ability of database? + General questions about computing distributed with LabVIEW

Surprisingly, I'm almost finished with a full blown control-simulation application, that I've been working on for more than a year now, thanks in no small part of this community. The final step is to run on the simulations of k ~ 8 and be able to meet a simulation and overall statistics on performance. Each simulation is taking about 6 minutes of real time to run (~ 2 seconds of real time per hour of simulation time, valid for 7 days of simulation), as we seek to about 800 hours of your time to simulate. I have 5 computers available and a raspberry 2 Pi these simulations on, I'm looking to set up a kind of compute cluster at the end in about 2 weeks.

The ability of current logging is sketchy; I got about 40 columns of data, and they are written in a spreadsheet with a .xls format tabs-delimited. This works very well for individual simulations, but it would be quite heavy to deal with if I had more than 20,000 of them. I think this must be done with a relational database sort, but my experience with databases is very limited, especially then, when it comes to LabVIEW. Here are my questions:

-Can I create a kind of master-slave configuration where a computer (and probably the Pi) keeps track of the simulations are complete, which are running, and who have never run? Computers slaves ask for simulation settings, and IP would give them to him.

-How should I take care of the database? Each simulation is about 500 k in .xls format, it's about 5 GB of data in all. Computers slaves synchronization from time to time to take care of the redundancy?

-How can I refine my memory + General fresh disk I/O? How can I know which items from my point of view most of them?

-Do you have suggestions for the implementation of clusters of databases relational/computer with LabVIEW?

I have attached a picture of my configuration of logging + the overall structure of the application. It is a state machine with a structure of the event for the interruptions.

  • Missing Teststand VI with the new installation of Teststand/Labview

    All,

It is perhaps a silly question, but I installed Labview and Teststand fresh on a new machine. When I run Labview, all my Teststand Vi (VI Labview referencing Teststand) in block diagrams are question marks... and of course select the menu too. Does anyone remember how to fix this? I have installed only once and never had that happen.  Thoughts?

    Hi SimpleJack,

What was the order of your installation; First LabVIEW or the first TestStand? If you have installed TestStand first, then the image that you have demonstrated is a possibility.

    Kind regards

  • Create variable FileGlobals without deleting the existing, using the API of TestStand, LabVIEW

I create the FileGlobals Variables as described in the attachments. Variables are created, but at the same time, all the existing ones if the FileGlobals file is deleted. Could someone help, please, how can I insert variables, no effect on already existing ones?

Thank you very much in advance!

I struggled with this problem all morning, and... I realized that this code does not remove the FileGlobals variables. Code to create the fact, that runs before this code... So I corrected the code - it works now!

  • How can I connect a Labview XY (cluster of 2 tables) TestStand 2010 SP1 chart and do appear correctly in the report?

Patterns of data record TestStand 2010 SP1 default shared this cluster in two tables stored as binary data, resulting in two graphs displayed in the report: one for data and one for X data Y. We need the elements X and Y, couples on the same graph. This cluster is marked for logging as a step output variable. It seems possible to add a table "PROP_XYGRAPH" (similar to the PROP_ANALOGWAVEFORM) to the schema to simplify the other treatment after the database record, but how can we get the Builder, to accept this type of data is displayed correctly? XY graphics come from LabVIEW 2013 SP1 exclusively as a cluster of two matrices, usually between 500 and 1,000 items long.

  • [BUG] TestStand 2013 receives corrupt data to LabVIEW adapter if the cluster contains waveform array

    Hi all

I am having trouble with the corruption of the data. My minimal test case is below.

I have a VI that returns an array of clusters. My TestStand sequence simply call this VI and connects to its output:

When I run the (with my open VI) .seq file, I can see the update of the Panel before LabVIEW with expected values:

However, TestStand receives all these values. Waveform bays have the correct values, but everything else is empty / null:

If I delete my typedef waveform table, all elements of the cluster are correctly registered by TestStand.

I've attached an example of test (2013 TestStand, LabVIEW 2013) case.

Any ideas on how to make it work?

    Hey JKSH,

Thanks for the detailed on this report. I looked into it a little bit last week.

I think that it is closely related to the 206892 of CAR, which describes a problem where data will not appear on the report unless a property or variable is specified for the output waveform parameter. However, this does not completely cover your case, because you see incorrect digital data in the row with the waveform of your cluster. I filed 462209 CAR for that matter, and we will investigate it more thoroughly.

This problem only affects data that appears "below" the waveform in the cluster. In the case of the sample, if you put the waveform as the last element of the bunch, I think that it works correctly. I know that your real data could be more complex than this example, but this workaround solution would help in the meantime? You could also consider separating the waveform of the rest of the data, that would probably work too.

As I said, please let us know, and it is classified in our system now for a developer to investigate the matter. Please let me know if solutions are not appropriate for your application, we would be happy to know a little more about your overall use case order to work around the problem.

  • For what display size is optimized Labview 2012?

    Hello

I have a top of Tower with a high resolution (1920 x 1080). After that I installed Labview2012, on some of the dialogs, e.g. Tools-> Options (see image) not all text is shown completely.

Also, when I opened VI designed for a lower resolution display I overlap on the labels and controls.

Can someone tell me if this is due only to the display resolution, or also the Labview? And what display size optimized Labview2012?

    Concerning

Hi, I found the problem. Text size DPI in my Windows display settings has been set to 120 DPI. After, I changed to 96 DPI, text and labels returned to their normal position.

  • TestStand deployment error Code 1055 when using LabVIEW storage VIs

After a few days of playing with TestStand deployment. I have final stalked the VI which was the origin of this error.

He was using the LabVIEW storage screw to save data in a TDM file.

My work around at the moment is to use a Wrapper VI and call this VI by reference.

In this way the deployment TestStand cannot detect the Sie of storage.

I'm using LabVIEW 8.6.1 and TestStand 4.1.1 does anyone know if this issue was address TestStand 4.2?

It seems that the upgrade can be worth it.

    Simon,

After investigating the matter further, I found that we had already encountered this bug. It has been fixed in 4.2 TestStand and LabVIEW 2009 I tested your files with 4.2 TestStand, LabVIEW 2009 and everything built successfully without any hiccups on the way.

  • How to with Labview startup window hidden when Teststand start loading

I have Teststand development enviroment and Labview development environment installed on my computer, my use of Labview teststand adapter applications. It is every time when I start the application being Teststand, Labview, window pop auto-start - up, I wish to customize this behavior to let Labview just show in the taskbar.

When you distribute applications, everything has to run in the runtime engine (RTE). It should not require development environments (Dev Env) must be installed on the machine at all.

That being said, I recommend you configure the TS LV adapter to run the screw into the TEN. Which will automatically get rid of dialog to launch like this is part of the Env of Dev of LV.

  • Multiple reporting of test problems in TestStand 4.1.1

We lack TestStand 4.1.1 and LabVIEW 8.6.1.  We have a vast repository of production and test fixtures, with lots of code-sharing and others.  We build installers for all of our tests and deployments every night with a build server automated.  We have newer versions of the TestStand, LabVIEW, but due to process bugs in TestStand deployment (and installer of construction), we can use them with our footage/projects/workspaces.

We have traditionally been configured to test as html reports, because it is easy to visualize the reports not only on the test set-up, but on any other platform.  The problem is that the html reports are difficult to analyze programmatically.  To do this, you really want the report xml format.  The problem is that the xml reports require a style sheet, and the viewer only, we have learned to work is Internet Explorer.  It's not very portable, especially on platforms.

So we got the mandate to produce test reports in both formats.  I found a thread here describing how in TestStand 3.5.1 and started with the model of update sequence posted in this thread.

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/NI-TestStand/create-two-TS3-5-reports-XML-and-ATML/TD-p/471394/page/2

I need to edit the SequenceModel file, and some mods are also required in the ModelSupport.seq file.  I don't want to change the default settings, so I make copies of the files and specify that my sequences use modified versions.  Thus, the process I use so far goes like this:

    . Copy the file

    C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\TestStand 4.1.1\Components\Models\TestStandModels\ModelSupport.seq

    TO

    C:\MyWorkingDirectory\ModelSupport_multiReport.SEQ

. Download SequentialModel.seq from this thread
    http://forums.NI.com/T5/NI-TestStand/create-two-TS3-5-reports-XML-and-ATML/m-p/471394

    . Copy the file to
    C:\MyWorkingDirectory\SequentialModel_multiReport.SEQ

. Open the sequence above in the sequence editor
. under the following subsequences, there the integrated sequence called ModelSupport.seq sequence request.  You must redidrect these calls to use
    C:\MyWorkingDirectory\SequentialModel_multiReport.SEQ

. sequence calls that may be needed are found in
    Test DUT

    Simple pass
Configure the report Options (call to the "Configuration of Report Options")
Configure the Options of SecondReport (call in the "Configuration of Report Options")

    . create the directory
    C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\TestStand 4.1.1\Cfg\SecondReportDetails

. Note that the "Cfg" directory is a shortcut to
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\TestStand 4.1.1\Cfg\

. in SequentialModel_multireport.seq, find references to
    "C:\\Program Files\\National Instruments\\TestStand 3.5\\Cfg\\SecondReportDetails"

    and change them to

    "C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\National Instruments\\TestStand 4.1.1\\Cfg\\SecondReportDetails"

    . There are several references
. Test the DUT-> Get 2 Report Options
    . Single pass-> get 2nd Report Options
. Configure the Options of second report-> Edit Report Options

. After making the changes, check in your main sequence
    . Configure-> second report Options
If the configuration window starts, all is ok so far.

. Change the sequence file to require different model
. Change-> sequence file properties, Advanced tab
    . Model-> specific model required
    . Go to the
    C:\MyWorkingDirectory\SequentialModel_multiReport.SEQ
    . Ok

    Finally, the problems:

    1. normally, when you run the sequence in "Test UUT" mode, when you stop (from the serial number prompt USE), the last test result appears in a pane view in sequence or the test Executive Editor, who ever you happen to use.  This causes a "TempReport.html" file to be generated in the reports directory, and normally, this file is deleted when reject you the report viewer.  This deletion occurs is no longer, and the directory will start to accumulate files "TempReport_0002.html," "TempReport_0003.html".  It is not desirable.  I went looking through the template and related files, but could not find where the temporary file is created or deleted, nor I could find where the viewer within the sequence editor is called.

    2. If the first report is html and the second is in xml format, the resulting xml file can no longer be read or in the sequence of the other editor or test the view of the Executive or in Internet Explorer pane.  The message in IE is:

The XML page cannot be displayed

Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Fix the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Error running Microsoft JScript 'null' is null or not a subject line = 381, col = 3 (line is offset from the beginning of the sc...

I checked, and there is nothing unique or commonplace online 381.  Column 3 is a space, and the rest of the line contains data used elsewhere and only some ordinary tags.  If the order of the reports is enabled, the xml report is visible in the view report sequence editor and through Internet Explorer.  (In other words, do the first report of the xml file and the second the file html.)  Now, I know what you think.  "Doc, does it hurt when I do this.'" " Well, don't do that! "If it works one way and not the other, use the way that works.  My concern, however, is why the resulting xml data files differ?  If I let this slide, it will come back as a big issue later, after that the memory of how I created this so is cooler?

    3. If I pull up to configure-> Options pane of report in the sequence editor, finish, so don't wait several seconds before pulling up to configure-> second report Options, the editor of sequences often disappears from the desktop.  A few seconds later, I get that annoying dialog box 'Do you want to tell Microsoft about the problem?' that appears when a program crashes and dies.

If anyone has come across this, or how to fix it?  Thank you.

    M

    Hello

I was not able to get the files that you use to work, but I found a model of different sequence on our DevZone page that works for me, trying to create two different reports.  It can be found here:

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/EPD/p/ID/3278

As it says in the instructions, simply change the local variable called 'DisplayedReportFormat' in the file tworeportssequentialv30.seq on "html" or "xml" to change the output type of the second report.  The first type of report is normally configured via the menu.  Also, be sure to change the options of station to use this model.  I have confirmed that it works and that the temporary file is also deleted every time.  I hope this helps!
