• Photoshop CS5.1 64 bit crash, usually after using the text tool.

  I tried to update and roll back my graphics driver, I checked my swap file (because my SSD uses Samsung magician, and I found a few posts a few years ago which suggested that might be the problem), but I can't understand this.

  Other Production Premium CS5.5 programs seem to work perfectly, and only Photoshop is having issues.  I tried to reinstall (in which case a vital file has been damaged or missing).  Photoshop displays all errors of himself, he just died.

  A week ago my Photoshop Elements began to break up when I select the text tool.

  Sometimes problems PSE to make it out no reason apparent and which are not fixed by the reset tool. In this case, it might be that the preferences file is corrupted.

  First, I noticed the change to text box. Then Fireworks CS4 would freeze during one of the following:

  • Resize grouped text

  • Moving text box

  • Click on the text box to edit with the text tool

  • Double-click the text box to change the pointer tool

  So I started a new file, but met with the same result. Thus, Fireworks CS4 is currently useless if the text is necessary. I can create vector objects, but simply by clicking on the canvas (or by clicking on the fonts menu) with the tool Fireworks CS4 text instantly gel. I had similar problems with Fireworks CS3 edition, but if I started a new file, I was at least able to reuse the text tool and type. Now, I can't even recreate the file. I have to give up Fireworks and using a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator before my schedule gets even further behind.

  I am at a total loss.

• text tool hangs photoshop cs6

  When I use the text tool and type the first character, photoshop crashes for a long time. When he comes back it just hangs again, the text is completely unusable for me. Very very frustrating, I can't work at all.

  no damage was found. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop. I start with ctrl + alt + shift to clear my preferences. I've updated in the nvidia driver.

  Nothing seems to work. Any ideas? I'm completely stuck. Have fortunately CS5 on another machine, but this machine with CS6 is a boat at this point anchor.

  CS6 and text worked fine for me for awhile. It is since hanging has set itself on the occaison for awhile, but it always starts again suspended once and I can't stop now.

  Take half the fonts and make it unavailable.  If all that it OK, try the other half.  If the problem appears cut in two and so on.

  Have you checked that your zoom is 100%?

  The MS Paint text feature is not available until you have your photo on a 100% zoom. Anything else and it will be gray on the text bar.

  If you click and type you have point text and you will have a line when you edit it.

  If you drag and type you will have text of paragraph and will not be a line when you edit it.

  In CC, you can convert text to Point in paragraph text in the Type menu.
