That meant disabled in the basic wireless settings?

Hello

I bought a WRT160N and find that there is an option "Disable" in the basic wireless menu. I want to know if I chose this option, the router stop its wireless signal or just can not use the wireless function? I mean, if I chose this option, this router exactly as a wired router?

Thank you very much.

If you set the "network Mode" to "disabled", your WRT160N becomes a router "Wired."  The wireless radio is turned off, then the router acts as a wired router.

Hi Sumit and thanks for posting.

Your Athreos has never connected? If it has connected then it not only connects it to insecure networks? Also after can trying to connect you do the following?

Start, run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG/ALL

[Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar].

Right click in the command window and choose Select all, and then press ENTER.
Paste the results in a message here.

I hope this helps. After the back if you have any questions.

  • WRT320N router resets the default wireless settings after a while

I wonder if someone can help me. My router automatically assigns the initial default wireless network settings.

Sometimes after an hour, sometimes after a week.

It reverts to automatic instead of the manulal settings that I use for the configuration.

Replaces the Linksys SSID and disable wireless security.

    What I am doing wrong?

Try to reflash/upgrade of the firmware on the router and see if that helps. Follow the steps described in the section below to download and update the firmware.

  • After the installation of 12.0, I get popups and migration from the lower left of my screen that will heal all the ads block settings.

Whenever I visit a new Web site I can wait for one of my first 'clicks' to open a new window with something like a Quibids announcement or a site with audio asking me to take a survey vaguely regarding the site I'm. There is also an ad in the migration of the lower-left corner of my screen that no amount of effort will get rid of. It didn't happen until last week when I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. My OS is Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop. I connect with a hotspot from Verizon at home only. I scan all emails before downloading from the server PC of the population. I ran most of Windows and a couple of free virus programs did a full scan nothing helps. This problem does not exist when I navigate with Windows Explorer.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

  • Export as that doesn't remember the last used settings

Trying to get used to the use of export as instead of the old economy for the Web. However, it doesn't seem to remember the last settings I used. Save for Web still don't this, no problem. It's quite embarrassing and I have always used save for Web for this reason. Is there a way to remember? I have changed my preferences to export but it was just for the Quick export. Any ideas?

    qmatt wrote:

Do not. The new export module is not finished and it still lacks a lot of features (like the color management and the support of metadata). IMO, it was shipped prematurely.

The code of save for Web is based on the old ImageReady and certainly need a review/rewrite, which I do not know "export as" will provide beautifully. But until it's over, using SFW.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

Hey @JF08, Hello and welcome to the Forums of HP!

From your description, it sounds like a complete reset may be necessary. I don't know how it got locked, but the easiest way is a factory reset.

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

  • Why the excess USB traffic created by some models of the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver?

As part of my work as a volunteer for a repairman to point not lucrative to registered of Microsoft, I test a selection of mouse and wireless keyboards that are given.  Based on the production of a software tool for USB port monitor, I noticed recently that some models of the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver generate constant even when the keyboard and mouse are slowed traffic USB (about 10 transactions per second) or are completely absent.  This occurs with the 2.1 receiver Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop (model 1028) and the Microsoft Wireless Desktop receiver 3.1 (also labeled model 1028).  It does not occur with the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver 1. 0a, nor have I watched Microsoft controls only receivers or receivers of Logitech mouse...

This makes me curious.  What do these receptors with all this chatter?  I assume deliberately, because I see the same thing in all the units I checked.  If I was pretty savvy to decode the trace of the USB, I might be able to figure it out by myself, but I'm not.  I hope that there is someone on this forum who remembers how these old 27 Mhz receivers are designed and who can make me jump the learning curve by giving me an explanation of a layman to what happens here.

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Is properly installed wireless adapter driver?
Go to start-> type devmgmt.msc-> press on enter. In the Device Manager window, expand network adapters. You should be able to see a list of network adapter as Ethernet, Bluetooth, etc. Make sure that you can find the adapter wireless from the list. If so, double-click it. Properties windows will be open. On the general tab, under device status, if it shows that the device is not functioning properly, please remove the case, locate the wireless network card and make sure the connections of antennas are coneected correctly. If even a connection is not properly connected or damaged, you cannot connect to any WiFi network.

  • Please help with the correct color settings

I use ID CC depending on which we, my printers want my final PDF either as PDF/x-1a (I know it does with regard to Flattening) or PDF/x-4.

I need all color images for close to CMYK, no matter what they were when placed. I need all 100 %K black to stay like this and not to convert an intense black.

Currently, my document color settings are:

Parameters: general use of 2 North America

    Workspaces:

    RGB: sRGB IE61966 - 2.1

CMYK U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2

    Color management policies:

    RGB: Preserve embedded profiles

CMYK: Preserve numbers (ignore linked profiles)

    Conversion options:

    Engine: Adobe (ACE)

    Intent: Relative Colorimetry

I use the default settings for PDF/x-1's or PDF/x-4 (most have the ink Manager to convert all tasks to deal with) and and always receive a yellow warning with the following in general warning triangle:

The preset specifies source profiles that do not match the current color settings file. Profiles specified by the color settings file will be used.

What should I check in my document color settings to avoid this error message (the resulting files do appear to be OK for what I need, I want to just make sure that I put it just in case this error). Of course, other thoughts are always appreciated also.

What should my document color settings also if the final document will be black and white (in grayscale) and contains only data on the black plate?

Sorry to contradict the Peter a bit here, but X - 4 allows to RGB, rather than to specify it, so you can have your PDF by setting 'Convert to Destination (preserve numbers)' with an appropriate destination CMYK profile and still conform to the standard X-4.

That's what I'm doing here, because I prefer the Adobe CMM performs the conversion.

This may sound silly, but once when I was about to leave Firefox, I got the warning prompt if I wanted to close many tabs... As I click on save and leave I pressed accidentally the "save these settings. Now I'm just wondering, how do I disable it, so that Fireox sends the prompt whenever I try to close multiple tabs? I'm under 3.6.6 with OS X Snow Leopard.

You can reset the preferences to warn on the topic: config page via the context menu.
    browser.tabs.warnOnClose, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/About%3Aconfig_entries
    browser.warnOnQuit, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnQuit
    browser.warnOnRestart, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnRestart

To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the Enter key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.

In Firefox 3, you don't get the dialog "Save and exit" pop - up if you choose Firefox > Preferences > General > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.
Get the dialog "Save and exit" pop - up, to select one of the other options (display my home page, display a blank page).

Im trying to fill the network so my ps2 connections can use the signal wireless to my laptop running vista Basic. When I click to bridge, I get a message saying that I need at least 2 internet connections. is this in any way about this?

    Hi Jer9009,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers site.

    ·         Could you give the exact error code or error number you get?

To connect multiple computers, install a network adapter in each and run a network CAT5 cabling to connect each one to a hub (and thus the other.) The computer that will serve as a transition will have a standard network card for wired and a wireless network adapter that will connect to the wireless (WAP) access point or gateway on the second network.

A network bridge is software or hardware that connects two networks or more so that they can communicate. You can create only a single bridge network on a computer, but a bridge can handle any number of network connections.

  • How to turn on the Microphone that is disable Windows thorugh settings?

Original title: problem with the microphone

    Hello :D

First of all, my microphone is NOT 'disabled '.  I went to settings sound and Device Manager, everything is fine, no annoying exclamations, nada!  AND the microphone IS "enabled".  It is also connected to a worksheet. :) Com ports are working, too.  No IRQ problem to report.

The other night my husband and I were talking about how hackers can turn on microphones and video cameras.  Exceptional hubby showed me another way (outside the standard enabled) to turn off the microphone so that he - can't - be turned on by a pirate.  It's something in the settings of the Windows software and pretty much took the microphone out of my loop of material. * sighs *.

My sweet husband is now out of town, to the secret... and I have homework due.

    Please help if you can.

If you made it this far,

    Thx for listening; D

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. When I start the system, the automatic Wireless Configuration Service is disabled and I have to go into Services and start physically whenever I start Windows (XP 32-bit sp3).

I think it's own software of Toshiba (Q-Connect/Summit?) it prevents start automatically with Windows, because everything else is as it should be.

Can you advise how to fix this so that the service always starts automatically and does not, during the trip, the settings for windows? Set up a wireless ad - hoc is quite difficult because there is no more headaches.

    See you soon,.

    Hey Buddy,

It s I don't know ConfigFree turns off this feature of Windows... As far as I know it s necessary service for all WLAN configuration tools

Is manual start automatically, or simply the value type? You must assign it automatically.
