    Hello @AlesR ,

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do to commercial Forums.

Even if it is a Commercial product, here is a link to to test the battery.

Plug the power supply directly to a wall outlet works. Do not connect it a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You don t the right something on your operating system, but I assume you are using Win 7
Windows 7 hides most of the default status bar icons.
You need to fix to 'Show' If you want to show it again.
But even when hidden, you can display all the icons in the status bar by clicking the small arrow just to the left of the status bar.

    You can do this:
Right click on the taskbar-> properties-> in the 'Notification area' click on 'Customize' and then (the battery icon) 'display the icon and notifications '.

  • Red blackBerry exclamation Z10 there is in the battery icon when it is connected to the Thinkpad T420

I'm new here and the Z10 is my first BlackBerry smartphone.

I noticed that when I out took it of the box and connected to my Thinkpad T420 that was running Windows 8, it started to charge the battery and it was OK, and then I installed the link of BlackBerry that comes with it and after that I restarted my laptop, there is a red in the battery icon exclamation point , and it seemed that he was arrested for battery.

I uninstalled the link BlackBerry and after restart, it began to charge the battery again.

I don't know if this is a bug or not.

    Thank you.

I have not tried the phone with Windows 8.

I am trained on technical support for Windows 7, and I do technical support for Windows 7.  At the moment I have no training to win 8 support.  If your device is running Windows 8 - RT, I would put a strong bet on a compatibility issue with the link for the phone drivers. If the device uses the standard Win 8 OS, then I would be inclined to think that it is a problem of compatibility of equipment of a certain type. From what I read link is supposed to work with Win 8. I do not know RT

    Read on...

I think of how link installed on Win 7 systems, that it comes with its own drivers. I never watched very closely into that because I never had a problem with the link using Win 7.  I had some problems with XP on some older computers. Without the software Link installed Win 7 installs its own generic drivers.

I also found with Win 7 computers with the former manager of office installed, these drivers to work also with the Z10 to charge and be able to read the card SD and memory of the phone via the USB port. Software Desktop Manager does not work with the Z10.

Try if you can do it in 8 Win.  Install the software Link. Go to the properties of system with the phone BB device.  Uninstall the phone in the hardware section. This should uninstall the drivers. Restart the computer with the phone powered on and connected. I'm game if drivers Win 8 BB will be installed on the recovery that the pilots of the link. I never tried with Win 8. It may be interesting the shot.

Something else interesting to try if this does not work, connect the Z10 using an external powered USB HUB between him and the computer. The CENTRE acts as a buffer. Maybe the OS will react differently this way.  I had problems where a powered USB HUB solved some problems with specific USB devices. It's more with printers, scanners and GPS devices.

Another problem is that I believe that your Thinkpad works more like a Tablet than a full blown computer. This may be a problem with the software Link. It would be interesting to know if someone else who reads this, use the Link software on a desktop or full blast laptop computer that runs 8 Win. If so and there is no problem, this should limit the problem the T420, rather than the system Win 8 or the software link itself.

Another interesting looking thing is so that the phone can not load the Link software able to read the phone anyway?  If so, you may have to live with the fact you can save and restore the phone with the T420, but not load.

If you sync the phone with Hotmail, you will have a form of a backup of your contacts, and I also believe that data. I tried syncing the phone with Yahoo and Gmail. Gmail has had lots of questions. Yahoo has worked but not exceptional. I found that Hotmail works best with the Z10 for synchronization.

If you have Outlook, you can install the Outlook Hotmail sync tool. This is available on the website of Ms. It is called Outlook connect if I remember correctly. This way you can configure MS Outlook to sync with your Hotmail account. This will keep the phone and your Outlook all synchronised with Hotmail.  I do this with a number of Z10 with great success. You will need to make yourself a Hotmail e-mail account. Then, you will need to do some reading to get it going.

Original title: battery icon says not connected charginr

    Hi nancypalmiter,

1 - is your laptop battery charge when turned off?

2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Sometimes, the problem may be with the laptop. The battery isn't bad, but it could be a loose connection or hardware problem with laptop. It will be the right idea to get the material under test if the battery of the laptop is not getting loaded even if the laptop is turned off.

You can also try the BIOS update and check if it helps. You can get in touch with the system manufacturer for assistance for the update of the BIOS.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.
