the battery meter on TPT1

I noticed the dough on my TPT1 meter is not accurate or weird features.

After charging, battery light remains well at 80 ~ 90% range for some time (by fews days with little use). but soon it may drop to ~ 80% (or another number) quickly to< ~10%="" (in="" a="" few="" minutes)="" and="" trigger="" a="" shut="">

It's so strange to decline > 50% in a few minutes.

everyone has noticed this similar problem? and a fix?

you have two or three defective battery cells in the TPT1.

When I turn on my laptop a battery warning message.  I checked the battery meter that says the following "94% plugged in, does not support".   The laptop is fine, so why should I get this message and what I would do to this topic?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

It is always recommended to run regularly only on battery power. It will actually make the battery last longer to let it discharge once a month. Realistically, if your laptop is on a desktop and plugged all the time, it is better to just remove the battery and only use it when you need portability.

  • Bad battery live on Sat M35X - how to reset the battery meter?

    Hello world

I have a few years old Satellite M35X-S149, no problem so far however I have been affected by the life of the very poor battery (like 10 minutes of full load at 0%). I've reconfigured the power options so that she wouldn't do anything even when the battery went to 0% (not set auto standby extended) and it runs for another 45-60 minutes after 0% battery.

So I guess the battery is faulty but not dead, and in my opinion, there is a sort of 'meter' that does not work as assumed, is it possible to reset o calibrate?

Anyone ran into this same problem?

    Thank you!

    Hello

I can give you a tip how to recalibrate the battery:

    1. the battery should be fully charged to 100%
    2. then you will need to change the profile of powersaving as follows-> Hibernate & standby off, disable the options that cuts off the machine when you batt. stabilize so that the machine stops when the battery is at 0%
3 let the machine work for how long does the battery last
    4. once the machine stops itself when the battery is COMPLETELY empty, let the battery charge (the laptop must be turned off)
    5. check if it worked and repeat the operation if the result does not satisfy you
    6. in the case of NO success, I would replace the battery

    Welcome and good luck

  • Y40 - 80 randomly turn off. The battery calibration has not fixed the problem of battery meter.

    Hello

I've had this Y40-80 during about 9 months and it has recently been acting strangely. The laptop will stop randomly. I thought that it was a sign, I had to calibrate the battery but after I had calibrated the battery, the battery meter percentage remained at 100% for a good 2 hours until it starts to decrease.

Now, I tried to recalibrate the battery for 5 times using the howtogeek, OneKey and the discharge of the BIOS. I did a fresh install of Windows to get rid of all the software Lenovo that might have caused the problem, but that did nothing.

I also uninstalled the Windows ACPI and Lenovo ACPI, which does not solve everything.

This issue makes the computer laptop underclock the processor environ.48 Ghz, which makes the computer almost unusable.

Someone have an idea on how to solve this problem, or is the battery dead?

  • Battery meter

My iPhone 6 is running iOS 9.3.1 just today started having a problem with the battery meter records does not correctly. After several hours of using my phone this morning, I noticed that he was always at 100% and he died soon after. It wasn't a problem last night, because I remember watching down to 4% and die last night. I had my time manually rather than what allows it to configure automatically. This http://fortune.com/2016/01/19/battery-issues-iphone-6s-and-6s-plus/ of fortune dot com suggested to do a hard reboot and automatic time setting enable. I restarted, and then activated, then restarted again, but nothing.

I got the iOS version that I am running for awhile, so I don't think that it has nothing to do with the update because I only started to have a problem with it this morning

First, download the autonomy since the app store app. It will tell you the status of the battery. Then try the battery meter calibration if the problem is not the battery.

    Recalibrate your battery meter:

    • Charges to 100%
    • Run the battery until the phone turns off
    • If it stops above 1% charge for only one minute, and then continue running the battery down. Repeat until it makes 1% before shutting
    • Load it back to 100%

If the battery is defective, this should fix it.

    Hello

first of all make sure that power management is enabled in the BIOS settings and is controlled by the operating system. (ACPI/APM settings) I don't know if you can disable this feature by accident on your model of laptop or if there is an entry at all on the power management, nut in the case where there is, it switches ON.

There can also be some related motherboard driver that is missing or messed up (misinterpreted) Windows. You can check first, if there is a conflict with the settings in the device associated with the devices in System Manager. If there is a yellow sign next to one of these devices, you will need to address this issue by the resettlement of some drivers.

Alternatively, you can save all of your work from your laptop and reinstall the laptop recovery CD. More than 70 percent of the pilot, the problems, it's easier healing.

Whatever the result will be, please be so kind and come back to share your findings for future reference and assistance.

  • Why is the battery loses power even when connected to the wall of entry?

    Hello

Laptops today are designed to switch to the battery and drain a little and

    HP Pavilion 2011sa G6

    Windows 7 64 bit

The laptop is brand new, I got it for a week.

This seems to happen when the battery is low, but not to the level of criticism. Initially, I notice the battery light is white for about 30 seconds and then off for 30 seconds and repeat - what happens when the computer is turned off. I turn on the computer and the battery meter shows 29% and a ridiculous time, 43hrs 29minutes. Previously, he said 127hrs. But it seems to be frozen at this value. The battery light is now flashing white and turn off more quickly. Finally the computer just turns off without warning. After recharging the battery meter displays a time in more realistic and there seems to be no problem.

Go to Device Manager. Expand the device Batteries and right-click on the "'ACPI control method-Microsoft compatible battery ' and select uninstall." Now, do a right-click any device and select ""find the hardware changes " option." Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this, if your battery is fine slots - just clean up the edges of the knife which fit in)
them and be careful). Batteries are old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the machine system, and many of them have on line forums.

New Lithium-Ion type battery usually last longer if you do not unload their less than 30%
However on a laptop that not extend their life a lot. Best is to use the a/c adapter
    When this is possible.

  • Use of AC when the battery is at 100%? (S7-391)

    Hello world!

I have been affected by the worst support from Acer, I have no problem with the ultrabook himself (Acer Aspire S7-391) but I have some doubts about pilots and other things, that they have avoided answering many ways. So, here's the thing:

This ultrabook has all drivers that could be use the AC power when the battery charge reaches 100% to avoid tampering with the battery?

The thing is that while I have 100% of the battery and the ultrabook is connected to the power adapter, it always seems to be draining the battery power and recharging it back to being 100% all the time.

When I ask about the drivers, who might or might not be installed, I just need to find a way to access this functionality if possible, and if I can't, I need to know as soon as POSSIBLE so that I can start unplug the laptop right after that the battery has reached 100%.

    Thanks in advance.

As you said with Connector 2 power pins can also disconnect the battery charge. It can disconnect the power supply from the battery charging circuit when the battery reaches a particular % with the laptop running load in power cables. I do not think that your computers support portable setting the level of charge of battery to a % custom. Your laptop must have a particular hardware and BIOS that supports. In some laptops, the BIOS has the ability to define a particular % of battery charge. I read somewhere that windows 8 do not support this feature, old version of windows (Vista) support this feature.

Some write up I found online to help you.

    Memory effect

First of all, it is necessary to unfold a myth that persists in the minds of many people.

    The effect of stack memory.

In the basis of lithium batteries, it is in fact a myth, it applies only to the old nickel-based batteries. Therefore fully discharge and recharge the battery are completely useless and even harmful as discussed below.

The modern lithium battery can be charged independently of its current percentage, because he has absolutely no negative effect in his performances.

Should I remove the battery when the a/c is connected?

Many users of portable computers have this question and we will answer it right now:

The answer is: YES and NO, it depends on the situation.

Have a fully charged battery and the laptop is connected is not harmful, because as soon as the load level of 100% of the battery stops receiving the energy load and this energy is shorted directly on the power of the laptop system.

However, there is a downside to keep the battery in the holder when the laptop is plugged in, but only if he currently suffers from excessive warming caused by the hardware of the laptop.

    So:

    -In normal use, if the laptop does not get too hot (CPU and hard drive around 40 ° c to 50 ° c) the battery must remain into the Jack of the laptop;

-Intensive use, which leads to a large amount of heat produced (i.e. games, temperatures over 60 ° c) the battery should be removed the socket in order to avoid unwanted heating.

The heat between the fact that he has 100% load, is the great enemy of the lithium battery and not the plug, as many might think so.

    Battery discharging

Full battery discharges (until the computer laptop power shutdown, 0%) should be avoided, because he insists a lot on the battery and may even damage it. It is recommended to perform partial discharge to levels of capacity of 20 ~ 30% and frequent accusations, instead of performing a complete discharge followed for a full charge.

Laptop PC battery contain a gauge of capacity that allows us to know the exact amount of stored energy. However, due to the charge/discharge cycles, this sensor tends to be inaccurate overtime.

Some laptops include in their BIOS, tools to recalibrate the battery meter, which is nothing else than a full discharge followed by a charge complete.

So to calibrate the gauge, it is desirable, in all cycles 30 discharge, a full uninterrupted discharge, followed by a too, non-stop, full charge.

An inaccurate gauge may have to the fact that the capacity of the battery are values are false. The battery can report that he still has 10% of capacity, when in fact it has a much lower value, and this causes the computer to the unexpected shutdown.

Cycles of discharge (or charge) are to use this charge battery (100%), but not necessarily all at once.

For example, you can use the laptop for a few minutes in a day, using half of its e ability then it load completely. If you did the same thing the next day, it can be considered a discharge cycle, not two, so it may take several days before finishing a complete discharge cycle.
