• New SDK w / Burrito debug question

  App opens ok inside the Simulator, but the debugger does not (breakpoints).  I see it installs ok of the app, but it says 'pending to connect to the running application' for too long and then error.

  I'm on Mac OS X, 4.5 SDK and Flash Builder Burrito, new SDK Tablet as of today.  It is a project of Mobile of Actionscript.

  It's with a red face, I must point out that the file 'workspace' wasn't in the right place.  He enter the folder to workspace solved the problem.  Learning to read can be useful as well on my part!

• With the help of Toplink with Eclipse - (Newbie question)

  * and you have a Toplink Workbench project - say a project XML or database.
  
  You will need to save your project Toplink, spurting on different directories for example classes, descriptors, schemas, fooname.mwp etc.
  
  Where do you want to save it in your Java project - what is in /src? Or somewhere else?
  
  I ask this question because I have problems when you debug my application - some xml files cannot be found etc. In any case, I guess I just need to know if I get the right bases for now - so any help will be highly appreciated.

• Using the Runtime 6.1 with 2009 installed engine

  I have LabVIEW 2009 installed on developer and use it regularly.  I recently got some executables that run only under the runtime of 6.1.  I downloaded the RTE of 6.1, but have not installed.  Don't you think that the RTE of 6.1 installation will have harmful effects on my 2009 installation?  I don't want to install LabVIEW 6.1, just the TEN.

  As long as the program doesn't have other "drivers" as previous DAQ, it should be ok, although usually it's a very good idea to install in the 'original' order i.e. 6.x and 2009. I TEN to several versions installed at the moment, but they were installed progressively in recent years.

• When I export the doc to epub with indesign last there weird images.

  I have in the pictures with the white ends, looks white fills the container where they are placed.

  Is that you have a problem of transparency when exporting and I know the conversion setting you use when exporting the document.

  Also, try to export PNG setting.

• AJAX troubles after the Beta 3

  I recently installed the Beta 3 SDK. After which, the widget that I built under Beta 2 stops working. After that some digging, it seems that the piece that broke is the Ajax requests.

  The error:

  The answer comes back with an error 500 and a responseText telling me the url is not in my config.xml file when it is.

  Ajax are requested from a server that renders the XML based on the GET parameters in the URL. The server runs a J2EE application, xml is rendered through JSP pages.

  The MDS Simulator is running. The browser in the Simulator is able to connect to Web sites.

  As a basic test, I created a simple widget to make an ajax, request a service and view the responseText on-screen. The request is made to the following address:

  http://windev3:8080/WebServiceConsumer/MobileWebService.do

  The request is made as follows, the runDiagnostics is connected to an onclick event of a button:

  Thanks for the reply. It made me think. We do not have a proxy server, but we have a domain. After trying a few settings, it seems that the use of the full domain name WITH works of port number.

  For future people who may read this thread. We consider that the remote resource, you are trying to access is on a specific port. I don't know if this applies when you use the default of 80.

  computer name - the name of the network to a computer

  domain.com - is the domain that the computer is turned on

• Generators THAT docs for Beta 3 SDK

  It seems that although the previous SDK had a docs / folder which contained the HTML documentation corresponding to what we find online, I think that is missing in the Beta 3 SDK.

  Anyone know the magic incantation to generate the docs at least qnx-screen in the new SDK?  I guess it means "aasdoc" as well as a few options but haven't found anything that generates more than a skeleton (a lot of files index and such, but no real content).

  Or are the sources of doc really missing?  I know nothing about how they are generated, so I can't tell if the source is same here for them.

  We decided not to send the local copy of the DOCUMENTS, because there is no way to solve the problems in the documentation once they are installed locally. Please use the docs online http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/airapi/1.0.0/

  We would like to hear from our users for any compelling reason to have the docs installed locally, so that we can evaluate our decision in the next SDK release.

• Windows 7 Professional - impossible to pass the beta Office 07 to 2010.

  I came here looking for help with a problem I had.  I run Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and I installed Office home and Student 2007.  It does not come with the editor and I need a quick project so I downloaded the beta of Office 2010.  The problem I've been is I chose the upgrade (previous versions of Office) during the installation for the beta version, it starts to install and gets all the way to the end and then after like 5 or 10 minutes sitting at the end (full progress bar), it starts to pull on this error:

  "Error 1712: a required file to restore your computer to a previous State could not be found." He said something like that and it just repeating me it again and again until I have to cancel Setup.  I looked at other places where the solutions.  I tried the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to try to remove some 2010 can be run in when installing it is.  I have redownloaded both Setup and delete all the files of 2010 and the registry keys that have been left behind and I always get this error when you try to upgrade.

  1. you should not spend 2007 a beta of 2010.  The program may have had this option, but you shouldn't take it.

  2. actually, I think that you should uninstall your 2007 before you install the BETA 2010 version.

  3. never use a BETA version on a production machine (only in a test environment), and if you don't have a test computer, so I would be very cautious about installing a Beta version on your machine.

  Have you tried to uninstall all versions of Microsoft Office and then reboot first before to perform one set up again? Bob Larson Access MVP

  I have Eclipse 3.3.1 and I'm trying to install FLXB_2.0_Win_WWE.exe to run the Flex 2 SDK with Eclipse, when I'm "Eclipse folder choose Update" I get the same error - 'Eclipse 3.x' not found but I'm pointing to the right folder w / eclipse.exe and configuration file... I tried to move the files to a directory, but no luck...

  The SDK is not a Setup program, it is just an issue. The SDK is provided for those people who do not want to use Flex Builder. You need to download the Flex Builder 3 installation program, and then once you have installed, create a new project and select the Flex 2 SDK on one of the panels of the new project wizard.

• CentOS 6: / boot partition to small with Easy Install

  I installed CentOS 6 64-bit in a version of VMware Workstation 7.14 - 385536 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. If you are using Easy Install it came with a partition/boot to ~ 48MB where are only 8.3 MB of free space. Therefore, an update of the kernel fails with the error: '[...] 19 MB required. "This happends with the default size of the drive of 20 GB and when I changed it to 40 GB.

  If I do not use Easy Install the partition/Boot has the size of 500 MB (size disc 20 and 40 GB), which would be more than enough. Another difference is the use of lvm (logical volume management) when I use the manual installation and the lack of it with Easy Install.

  Is it possible to change the partition scheme when you use Easy Install?

  Easy install creates a custom Kickstart configuration file the autoinst.iso file created in the folder of in that the Virtual Machine is created and you must change the following setting in the KS. CFG file.

  Indeed, you can install the Beta 2 in a separate Directory, because it comes with the QDE together. However, I would say to a different workspace to avoid problems if you are still planning to use Beta 1 with these projects.
