  I could solve this problem. I started in Ubuntu and deleted the existing cdrom.sys, cdrom.inf etc. files (as in Windows, they were protected and I couldn't delete them), then I copied the files from another installation of Vista I had on another hard drive. After having done that, I updated the drivers in device, disabled/enabled readers and readers management that presented themselves.

  I understand that you have a few questions about the graphics drivers. I'll be happy to help you with it.

  To answer your first question, your graphics card is not uninstalled, but the drivers are uninstalled. But the computer is now using generic display drivers.

  I suggest you visit the manufacturer's website and install the latest graphics drivers by using the model of the computer. If you have trouble doing that you can visit the AMD Web site and use of the auto detection function to install the graphics driver.

  The question could be deemed to occur by downloading the update. It is difficult to say at this stage. As to return to it, your best bet would have been the restoration of the system, but you mentioned only that a system restore does not work because you do not have restore points.

• The first Installation fails after first Boot of the Satellite L750

  Hello.

  I turned on my brand-new Satellite L750 - 04K 010 for the first time tonight (bought new) and start going through the initial setup process for Windows 7 Home Premium. The installation must "Installing devices" and then hung up without activity for about 2 hours, how I decided to restart.

  Then I kept getting the error windows installation has failed and would then need to restart the installation process. The computer will restart but kept coming up with the same error and the loop would continue even once.

  I have not received the installation discs.

  I tried to press F8 to see if the computer repair would work but only gave options to repair the system to a previous state. No Toshiba option was available.

  It's pretty stupid situation now.
  If there is no way to launch the installation of recovery once again I recommend your dealer and ask for help. With other words, ask for the replacement of the laptop.

  What you can also do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and explain the situation. I put t know what they can do for you, but I imagine that you will get a DVD of recovery for the installation of the OS.

  Of course I n don't know what the right solution, but I don't see another option for you.

  I've used Adobe products for over 20 years. Now I'm really stuck, and cat live has not been helpful at all (no answers to my questions, just instructions ignoring what I'm saying, which is in fact already tried all of the suggestions/instructions, and they did not work). My OS is Windows 7, professional reception. I bought CS5.5 Design Premium on a CD and tried to install it. The CD seemed to work; the installation started. Then nothing happened for more than an hour, so I canceled the installation and rebooted my computer. This did not help, either. Copy the contents of the CD to the desktop did not better results. Live chat suggested that I have download the trial version and then try to use my legitimate serial number. I said that it does probably not either, because the first attempt of CD issues had not been resolved. Nine hours later the free trial download is complete, and after all this, I got the same failure to initialize the message. I answered to my 'record' and, so help me, the representative of the customer even replied, telling me to download the trial version. In other words, it completely ignored the fact that I had tried and it didn't work. I looked on the forum and there was a discussion on this "initialization failed", but the discussion was completely in German, which helps not at all.   Yes, it seems that if you run in a permission issues when the Setup program attempts to write to your disk.  I recommend to create a new local administrator account and try the installation under this account.  Alternatively, you can consider running the installation in a selective startup upwards to minimize interference from other applications or services.

  The following documents should help if you need any indication as to the following steps:

  Restart Windows in modified mode | Windows 7, Vista - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/restart-windows-modified-mode-windows.html

  This can happen if there is some system files corrupted on your computer. Suggest you to scan SFC who will search the system files corrupted on the computer and replace them.

  Scan SFC enforcement procedure:

  1. click on the Start button

  2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

  3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

  4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

  5 If you have the enabled User Account Control (UAC) you will be asked to consent to the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

  6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

  7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

  8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

  9. If all the files need replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue

  10. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.

  11 after the scan finished, close the command prompt window reboot the computer and check.
