SOLVED!

Radical solution, installed Ubuntu 14. Hells bells his flies on this laptop. Boots in a Flash, using all my old progs except Office (free office of learning). Will try later, a dual-boot option. For the moment pleased as punch! HP should take note and may offer an alternative to Windows? Oh, and it makes bluetooth easy and love my Android smart phone and kiss my Windows phone too!

To the review Ms.

I have now a Sleekbook want to HP perfectly usable address!

Windows and UFEI screwed up my laptop. Removed the hard drive, reformatted and access the BIOS. Legacy support active and installed Ubuntu LTS of 14. Less than an hour to install. Machine at the start of the exploitable (including typing in password) within 60 seconds, stops in 30 seconds. Perfecto!

  • An error occurred during the creation of the factory data recovery - how can I know what is the error?

I have a new Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop.  Trying to create a backup on an external hard drive plant.  I tried to attach the USB at various times in the process and several USB ports, but always end upward with the same error message ' year error occurred while creating the factory recovery data.

I tried to "update", but when I select UPDATE, the only option is to UPGRADE to premium, I can't find a way to UPDATE.

This is the end of the story: I had two sessions of phone with Dell Technical Support, and their solution was to send me a flash drive with backup and restore files.  The next day, I got a Dell alert that a new backup and restore (version 1.9) download is available for Dell computers, which were updated to 10 Windows (what I did as soon as I got my new laptop).  I had the chance to download the file and run it today, and it works.

  • Restoration of the factory without recovery disks

    Hello

I bought a new laptop Sony Vaio VGN-AR870 in June 2008 and I enjoyed it a bit. It seems to me have succeeded to it bogged down and it works more slowly and more slowly and for a long time and I have remember how it is used to run when I bought it first of all I would like to restore it to factory settings and to give it another go, so to speak. I don't have recovery discs and I did everything when I got the laptop. How best should I go to this topic? My system restores are all set points in recent months, it is a step to go. Could I use a friends vista windows recovery disc and just manually install the drivers from the Vaio esupport site?

  • Laptop will not reinstall windows after the factory system recovery

So I have a laptop HP which is relatively new. I recently acquired the Virus 2010 Vista AntiVirus Pro. When the malware and spyware could not fix the problem, I decided to do a system restore, which would put the computer to the way it was when I bought it. I backed up the files and do the system recovery. He filled the recovery then said it will re-start to reinstall windows and complete the process.

After the restart as it gets and error that says: "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click "ok" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. »

The only option is to click on 'ok', but after clicking it he is trying to reboot once again and the same error comes back. We tried to manually close the laptop and restart, but we always get the same error. I can get the start menu when the information system and the recovery is but to the past is just the mistake. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I don't know what else to do.

I have a Sony Vaio VGN series laptop PC that is corrupted and requires a complete restoration of the factory. Recovery discs when it's upgrade in place, but I'm not sure that it will be part of the recovery. I have the original e-mail printed purchase for online upgrade, including the key I will be able to use it again on the same laptop, it was installed on?

The first thing you need to do is to get your Windows 7 Ultimate Anytime Upgrade key:

An e-mail containing your product key will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your Windows Live ID account or e-mail address you provided if you ignored the account configuration. Note: If you use an email tool or spam blocker spam filter, be sure that you can receive e-mail messages from microsoft.com.

What happens if I lose my product key?

If you lose your product key, you can return to

www.Windows7.com/GetKey and sign in using the "Sign In" link in the upper right of the page. This will allow to recover your product key if you have established your account with your Windows Live ID. If you do not configure a Windows Live ID account initially there is no record of your online product key. Check your e-mail since it is the only trace of your product key.

Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

-Samsung uses ESC on most of its systems

-HP use F9 on most of its systems

-Fujitsu uses F12 on most of its systems

-Acer use F12 on most of its systems, but often you need to go into BIOS to allow

    -Dell uses F12

In general, look at the screen during the POST for a tip for what is possible.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

  • Pavilion G7-1368dx: the factory recovery failed

A few weeks ago, Windows Update downloaded 10 Windows on my laptop. I tried a few days and decided I didn't like it so I uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 7 on my laptop. I lost the hp Recovery Manager, and by some people on this forum, I ordered the hp dvd recovery. I received the DVD and saved all my personal information. Then following the hp instructions that I started on the DVD and the recovery driver and application of discs. Records downloaded and after installation it says "failed to retrieve from the factory. So I retried 3 times with the same results. I searched the site of hp and found my problem and he said that you must have the wireless switch, but I tried and there is now nothing when I hit the button wireless. I am in desperate need. How can I fix it?

In fact, I realized that I was wrong to installation with the hp factory recovery disks. If your laptop has wifi the you must have the WiFi button before using the HP factory recovery disks, otherwise it will fail by the Service the customer of HP. Thanks for your help.

  • Recovery of the factory from 32 bit to 64 bit with the note system performance

Recovery of the factory from 32 bit to 64 bit with the note forever system performance, it's about associated wire

which is closed/locked, and had no correct answer.

I just bought a Toshiba L750. After learning of the default Windows 7 installed is Windows 32 bit, I decided to go Recovery Wizard from Toshiba upgrade to 64 - bit. However, the process is stuck to the system performance of note, that repeated several times for 2 hours.

Given that I guessed that screen performance of system just note one full screen of a normal process of Windows, so I pressed the button Windows start to display the taskbar which showed a component of Adobe installation process has failed. In any case, I clicked on the install Adobe on the taskbar button and close the window.

The note system performance then continued with about 10 steps ahead after 15 minutes. All well done.

So the trick is to close a window of the installation components that get stuck. Hope this helps some Toshiba laptop users out so hard.

A suggestion from bits to the team of Toshiba laptop:
The full screen of the Recovery Wizard is good to hide technical details from users. However, if hang in some components, like the Adobe component I've seen, this will be confusing and advises current defects if the end-user following some in the thread above, legacy because of some missing components and the wrong configuration. It is preferable that the wizard of recovery to exit full screen at a given time, or the wizard handles error scenarios better.

  • Re: Satellite A300 cannot start, cannot use the factory recovery

Hi all, I have a Satellite A300, which gave me problems in the past few weeks...

    I use Windows Vista

There are about 2 months in the beginning of the laptop problem, it restarts itself automatically before enter in windows (while in the windows loading screen, no blue screen, screen just suddenly darkens and restarts itself), but it will get finally in windows successfully after a few loops

but about 3 weeks ago, it just keeps looping and never get into windows, good news, it is that it can capture mode safe without problem

I've done everything I can to try and save, as play with msconfig, drivers, removing the Rams etc, but not luck

so, I save everything in safe mode and decided to restore the machine factory, but the problem is that when I boot up the computer by pressing 0 and enters the recovery screen, reboot loop will happen!

any idea? or y at - it another way to restore to factory without touching the windows installed in my laptop? is it a hardware problem or software?

I thought about the creation of recovery disks but my cd drive is not working properly, and I don't want to take the risk of buying an external cd drive not knowing not if the problem can be solved...

    Thank you very much!

    >.. .i don't want to take the risk of buying an external cd drive not knowing not if the problem can be solved...
That of right, but you must understand that it is not easy on this virtual path to offer an accurate explanation and diagnosis for your problem.

It is not easy to tell whether it is hardware or software related issue. best way to test is installation of recovery image. Recovery image is tested and if there are no some portable hardware problem should work fine. How to install the recovery image, which you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

    >.. .or is there another way to restore to factory without touching the windows installed in my laptop?
Something like this is not possible. Windows that you use now needs to be reinstalled. I don't know why you the laptop restarts, but it's also the risk of recovery image installation. In case this recovery image installation will be interrupted, you will have two problems:
-image of original recovery saved on your HARD drive will be unusable
-you will not be able to start t

In your situation the best is to minimize this risk and have original recovery DVD that can be used if something goes wrong.
    > but the problem is that when I boot up the computer by pressing 0 and enters the recovery screen, reboot loop will happen!
Can you please explain what is exactly happening? Is - this laptop is simply cut off / go to the coast and then reboot again or what?

    Hello John

Recovery installation is very simple and you can do it whenever you want. Important is that your laptop to factory settings. Simply follow the link posted by Feliks.

If you've changed something else or clean installation of the OS, it will not work and for the installation of recovery you must use the original Toshiba Recovery DVD drive.

  • ENVY of HP dv7: copy the file fails error on disk 2 to 58% HP recovery

My hard drive in my dv7 ENVY dies for the second time in two years (it was under warranty last time and I was able to fix). When I try to make the image recovery with the HP recovery discs I received the last time my hard drive died, I get an error then that 58% on two recovery disc that says:

    To: c:\RM\Image\BASE24. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

I press OK and it does the same thing over and over again. People who questioned him on this same type of error seem to get anywhere here, but what choice do I have? The hard drive is the same size, same manufacturer, same model, it should have the question of reimage the system on a hard drive more small, right?

Am I just out of luck on that? So frustrated.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on recovery issues and wanted to help.

Here is the link to the tool of creation of win8.1 media: installation media to create for Windows - 8.1 help Windows

Understand, however, you might encounter a problem installing using the media created from this tool.

You have a version of OEM HP of Win8 installed on your PC, and this means that the product key that is embedded in the motherboard UEFI firmware is OEM, not retail.

While the media created from this tool SHOULD be activated using this key, there is no guarantee he will do.  If it is not the case, you can use this tool to recover your product key and try to enter it manually: Download Windows OEM Product Key Tool - MajorGeeks

IF it still does not work, then your only recourse would be to order a new set of recovery from HP discs.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

However, HP customer care is generally not available on weekends, so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them.

    Good luck

I have bin told I can do using bios by pressing f8 at the boot screen.

I did it and taken to system restore settings, but I can't find any option to reset to the factory settings.
The options I see won't let me restore to factory settings.

    Hello

When you start your notebook F8 repeatedly press. You enter the Advanced startup options. If you n t change anything on preinstalled HDD (delete the second partition, change the structure or installed other OS partitions), you will see option to fix my computer.

  • How to set the Satellite A100-596 to factory without Recovery DVD settings

I gave my young niece of my old laptop A100-596 for Christmas.
It worked perfectly on Christmas Eve I packed it upward, in packing of origin, but at the time my niece connected on it has lost 40 GB of data among the drives C and E - everything E drive and the dvd drive had stopped working!

Now, no one has any explanation for what is happening, nor any reason why a laptop that has performed flawlessly for 18 months would suddenly lose 3/4 of the data on it, but whatever!

So now I want to restore it to factory, but without a job settings dvd, how? I have all disks involved in perfect condition!
In addition, I want to fool proof so it can be retrieved in case the person or nothing damaged, this time he cannot repeat the action.

So I think that if I partition the hard drive so that the recovery of files is accessible by me with a password, which I will NOT share with any of the children, if they bumble once again, then I will be able to recover.

Moreover, even restoring the system files have disappeared, so I can't even it roll back to a working condition!

    Any advice?

    Hello

You wrote so much and I think it's the best we descuss all questions slowly.

I don't know what you mean under non-working DVDs. Is the drive defective optical drive or media DVD is not readable?

Anyway, the fact is that if you want to have the factory again settings you must install operating system using Toshiba DVD recovery. If you don't have it you can do clean OS installation using the Microsoft DVD facilities. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities are available on the Toshiba support under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com page > support & downloads.

When you use recovery media Toshiba HARD whole disc will be erased. Absolutely everything. All data and partitions.
What you want to do with recovering data unfortunately will not work. You cannot copy the recovery image and start it from the other partitions. Not on Satellite A100.

On new A300, something like this is possible because the recovery image is stored on the second partition in folder HDDRecovery.

If you have any other questions please let us know.
