The file size of the page

I noticed that my drive 120 GB SSD use much more space for the installation of windows 7 (and also windows 10).  It seems that this is due to the size of the page file created automatically once I upgraded my computer to 32 GB of RAM...

But it leaves me not a lot of space left on my 120 GB SSD!  Should this system really a 32 GB page file or more?

But it leaves me not a lot of space left on my 120 GB SSD!  Should this system really a 32 GB page file or more?

You can decide that for yourself by taking one of these steps, then keeping an eye on the performance of your machine:

  • Move the pagefile to another drive (if you have one).
  • Manually set a smaller size for your swap file, such as 8 GB.

You can read the database administrator Guide - just search for "comrpession.

    It's here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/esb_dbag/dstalloc.html

There are a bunch of updates in custody and the rules concerning the 'better' compression method - it does say I use almost always ELA as the method that seems most effective wrt the disk space. It is logical that this method examines each block and apply the most effective method: pair ELA, bitmap, or Index value. I can't see a difference in calculation between bitmap and ELA.

How the hell did you in the position of no compression in the first place?

    Oops, a couple things:
    (1) after you apply the change of compression in environmental assessments or via MaxL, you must stop and then restart the database for the setting to take effect.
    (2) you must export the database, clear out and reloaded using the new compression method - #1 change affects only new blocks if you could have a mixture of compressed and uncompressed to your db, bliocks which will do nothing for the storage space.
    (3) the only way to really know which method is the most effective is to compare the calculation (remember to write on the disk which could be a little slower than now) and the compression methods is to do it. Try it as a bitmap and note time calc of sampling and file size IND and PAG, so try as ELA and do the same thing.

  • Try to calculate the size of the PAGE file

This is an academic exercise. I am trying to determine why my PAGE file size is what it is. Currently, he is registered to 28,000,331 bytes. (He's alone). Here are the facts:

    3 dense dimensions, stored members are 17 * 20 * 5, for a total of 1,700 * 8 = 13 600 bytes.

The actual maximum blocks are 19 800. The maximum reported are 24 750.

I have disabled compression for ease of calculation.

There is only 1 block no missing.

I use SER60 as my guide in the section estimate disk and the memory required. However, when I use the planned calculation:

Number of blocks * (size of data block expanded + 72 bytes)

I don't get anywhere near the number of bytes listed for the PAG file. I realize that I am not to mention the rest of the database files and do not know if this calculation is only for the PAG files or all files. I am not very interested in the size of the entire database, just the file PAG. So my questions are:

    1. is the calculation provided for all files or just the file PAG?

    2. If the answer to 1 is Yes, is there a separate calculation, that I can use to determine the size of the PAGE file only?

Take a look at NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND in the technical reference on Essbase.  We had a long conversation that addressed this issue on Network54 recently: http://www.network54.com/Forum/58296/thread/1374608752/11-1-2-2+Fragmentation

Short answer is that Essbase allocates file space .pag in 2048-block pieces, which is the default value of NUMBLOCKSTOEXTEND 11.1.2.2.  Calculate how many blocks (including header block 72 bytes) integrate 28,000,331 bytes and you will see that this is almost exactly 2048.

With compression on it more difficult (for me, at least) to understand how Essbase arrives with the size of the average disk blocks to use as the size on the disk with compression on is not constant.

  • How to change the orientation of the page of a file pdf size and margins of page? Are there tools available to do this?

We're converting Lotus Notes documents in PDF format by exporting (printing) to PDF using a PDF writer but found that some contents are truncated or cropped. Must manually reprint in pdf format using a different page/paper settings in order to capture the content correctly. Are there other methods or tools that can automate this step? Would it not possible to change the PDF properties to adjust the size of the page, etc.?

Hope that there are some useful tools available as there are thousands of documents that have this problem. Thank you.

Page size options are limited, but are in the crop tool. If there are no tags or other markup, you can also print to a new PDF and adjust the size of the printer - sometimes the simplest interface, but normally not recommended. The rotation can be made in the menu document and then saved. The rotation, which is usually on the toolbar are only for the current view and does not record with the PDF file. Many of them you can use a batch process to solve (in AA8 which is under the advanced > Document Processing). The best method is to set up your printer Adobe PDF to create the correct page size and orientation to the future. You can configure to develop in general for the installation, select a paper size, and have set parameters for auto-rotation. The latest is based on the text that is on the page. The elimination of the margin is also part of the crop tool. I hope that gives you at least a few things to look at. Unfortunately, tools moving with each version, so you have to get the tools.

  • Why firefox 15 displays the hex of size for the html data that make up the page?

    Windows 7, 32-bit
    Firefox 15.0.1 update Friday
    Java 1.7.0_07 Friday update

Management forced a Java Update and restart on Friday. When Firefox started it auto-updated V15.0.1. He had problems immediately; the previous session tabs disappeared all and any page with Flash no longer worked (everything was OK before the two updates).

In the recommendations, I created a new profile, copy only on bookmarks and files with name of user/authentication of the previous profile. When manually reopen the necessary tabs, pointed out that any Sonicwall firewall and Panasonic Netcam both display only a blank page with one or more hexadecimal numbers on it.

Efforts to repair since included completely remove Firefox, the plugin Flash and current Java to run in safe mode, disabling all extensions/plugins, running in a completely default new profile with nothing carried over, try with and without hardware acceleration, etc. The behavior does not change. It does not matter if I go via http or https for devices that support both.

JavaScript IS enabled, and the script _no_ blocking is in place; JavaScript works on other sites that use it.

IE9 on the same PC works fine, so it's apparently not a system problem

Looking at the page source shows that hexadecimal numbers are the length of the data in the row or the piece of HTML code, including the following javascript code. The Sonicwall sets up a larger number (2ea) on the line of the display source page that corresponds to the size in bytes of the code in the following lines.

The Panasonic apparently sends the length of the data in each row if it provides a hexadecimal number for each line of HTML in the source display.

What would make Firefox interpret the data incoming size as displayed, but only for certain pages or peripheral? I can visit other sites that have javascript and they work; a source of these pages view shows all the lines with just a hexadecimal number.

  • Two hard drives - what to set the page file to?

I have two hard drives, Windows is installed on C:, what should I set my page of the settings file for better performance? Hard drive space is not a problem, I have a 250 GB and a 1 TB drive, both are less than half full. I have 3.25 GB of RAM DDR2.

I heard move the swap file on a second hard drive is beneficial, because the OS files and the page file could be consulted at the same time. Defining a very large page file or file page on both drives will hurt performance? What is a variable size compared to a matter of constant size?

It shouldn't be noticeable performance difference if the swap file is bigger than "necessary".

If your system can it take into account, it is considered generally to be a performance advantage to put the file on a different physical disk than the operating system is installed, provided the other player does not see many IO already.

By using a constant size / fixed can eliminate fragmentation of the file page that can occur if it is sized dynamically.

If you anticipate relying heavily on the swap file, maybe reconsider and add more RAM to the system, if possible, or upgrade to a 64-bit computer and the operating system that is able to handle more RAM.

  • Where is the page files?

I am running Vista Home premium. I want to reduce the size of my partition of my boot c: drive. I want to find my page files and move them to another drive and then reduce the size of the partition.

    Where are they?

    How can I see them?

    How can I move them?

    Hello

The page file (Pagefile.sys) is a hidden file on your hard drive that Windows Vista uses as if it were a memory (RAM). The file exchange and physical memory is the virtual memory. By default, Windows stores the paging file on the boot partition (the partition that contains the operating system and its support files). The default paging file size is equal to 1.5 times the total RAM. However, this default configuration is perhaps not optimal in all cases. This article describes how to configure the paging file for optimization of the system and recovery.

You can follow the steps in the link given by bob.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-performance/Windows-7-set-to-no-page-file-and-i-cannot-change/992de6a8-bec2-4E74-b6d9-d418a7f5cda0?TM=1367819685901

Alternatively, you can follow the steps to move the paging files.

    1. Log the computer as an administrator.
    2. Click Startand then click Control Panel.
    3. Click performance and Maintenanceand then click System.
    4. Click on the Advanced tab, and then, under performance, click settings.
    5. Click the Advanced tab, and then under virtual memory, click change.
    6. In the drive [Volume label] list, click one drive other than the one on which Windows is installed (Windows is usually installed on the drive C). Under Total paging of the size of file for all drives, note the value that is displayed next to recommended.
    7. Click custom size, and type the value recommended in the initial size (MB) box.
    8. Type the maximum size that you want to allow for paging in the size maximum (MB) , and then click set.
    9. In the drive [Volume label] box, click the drive on which Windows is installed (usually drive C), and then use one of the following steps:
      • If you don't want a swap to disk file, click No paging file, and then click set. A message similar to the following message is displayed:

If the pagefile on volume C: has an initial size of less than 126 megabytes, then the system may not be able to create a debugging information file if a STOP error occurs.
    Continue anyway?

    Click Yes.

      • If you want to keep the minimum size of the file on the drive, click custom size, and type a value that is equal or greater than the amount of RAM in the computer in the initial size (MB) box. Type the same value in the box size maximum (MB) , and then click set.
    1. The following message appears:

The changes you did ask you to restart your computer before they can take effect.

Click OK, click OK, click OK, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer.

Hope it helps you to solve the problem.

The 8600 is simply not designed to handle a 382 (191 x 2) pages the analytical work. Analytical work double face (where you scan the odd numbered pages first, keep in mind, browse, then scan the even pages), looks like a copy collated job. The specification says exemplary, on the basis of 8600 model, you can do 8 pages. This is a limitation of the size of the memory. Scan at low resolution, give you more pages, which is why the interruption every 25-35 pages. It would be much easier just scan 20 pages at a time and combine PDFs on the computer (what is it good for). Or download the template more has more memory for larger jobs, or that true double-sided scans (no need to browse around).
