The import panorama fusion photo file size?

Is it necessary to convert files to JPEG when you do a panorama of merger of photo. I keep is said to convert 8-bit to 16-bit and don't know how to do this.

What version of photoshop elements and the operating system are you using?

If these are files camera raw, then most likely the camera raw converter is set to open 16-bit/channel files in photoshop elements.

You can change this by opening a file of the camera, and then, at the bottom of the camera raw dialog thought set the depth of 8 Bits/channel and then press done.

Try your pano again and see if that makes a difference.

  • Importing and organizing photo files lightroom 5 for the first time. Clean photo hard drive files

I have a trial version of lightroom 5 and would like one once and forall to restore order to my two drives hard and lightroom 5 collection. Some photos in lightroom 5 seem to have lost their way. Some are in folders of Windows 7 and others are 9 elements. I made backup copies of some records and would like to have a more systematic approach to save them in the future. I have a NAS (network access storage) device and an additional hard drive, I thought that it would be better to use my cell phone as main for my photo files working memory such that it would be faster to work with the NAS or external and then again everything down to the NAS and external. I consider that the main challenge group all files and as much as possible to preserve the sides I gave photos; I would like to eliminate duplicats. on both the hard drive and in lightroom. I watched one of the vidios of initial training on the 'library' of the adobe help section and the presenter talked about two ways to import photos. the first and I think that I will use in the future is to open lightroom and import from the SD directly rather than having the Windows 7 import, and then ask to lightroom to find them. If anyone Kow of an exhaustive enumeration of the instructions on how to clean up my hard drives that would be extremely useful? Peter

I doubt that it is a list of instructions to wipe a hard drive, because each starting situation is different and your 'own' is probably very different than my "clean".

But let's clear up a few things first. From your writings, it seems that you think that you have stored pictures in post-secondary education and photos stored in LR. This is not correct. None of these programs to store your photos. All your pictures are on your hard drive, in folders, somewhere.

Regarding the missing photos in Lightroom, when you move or rename your photos and folders outside of the Lightroom, Lightroom doesn't know where they are and bring back them as being absent. To fix it, see: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm related to that, you don't want to 'clean up' things in Windows and also "clean things" upward in Lightroom. Instead, once you import photos into Lightroom, you must do all the managing photos in Lightroom, not Windows, otherwise you'll just create several missing files.

Regarding duplicates, Lightroom has some tools to detect duplicates. He will try to prevent duplicates during the import, and if you are unable to import duplicates, you can use the "auto stack by Capture time" to try to find additional duplicates. But if those who do not work, then're it pretty much on your own.

With regard to put photos on your laptop to work on them rather than on your external hard drive, I think you will find that this gives a fraction of a second speed improvement that you may even not notice, which will be offset by the time you spend moving somewhere else photos when finished. So just put the photos in their final destination on your external HD or a NAS file and don't bother moving them to the internal HD.

Which leads to another point. Once you have done this 'cleaning', your workflow should be to put the photos in a place and then do not transfer! (Exception: not enough space on the disk or moving to another drive/computer) Make your life easier as possible.

One last point: seriously consider using keywords and other metadata for the Organization, rather than move photos/files from here to there, to reach the organization. These tools in Lightroom will give you the possibility of organizing in a much more powerful and flexible organization and what you can do by moving the photos/files from here to there. (Note: If you want all the photos in a sort of centralized location because it meets your storage needs, can do that because it meets your storage needs.) In this collection of photos in a centralized location, using keywords and other metadata to achieve organization and research)

  • Importing RAW + JPEG photos files times

I put up my Nikon D5100 to shoot RAW + JPEG files when I take pictures. Photos is to import both, when I just want to import JPEG files. Can I separate the two formats and delete the RAW files in pictures? Also, how can I stop the RAW files to import in the first place?

If I search for RAW files in Photos, the program shows them, but when I choose 'Get Info' on them, they show that the JPEG. Really weird...

Yes you are right - this is exactly how it works - to use the RAW format as the original for editing then editing for a photo mode, click on use RAW original title in the menu image - these photos will have a RAW badge on them, others will have a JPEG badge on them--Photos that are found only in a format do not have a badge on them

And I suggest review you both RAW and JPEG shooting and shoot that you want - if you pull them both, and then import that you'll both in Photos - you can use Image capture and import from the camera on the disc and separate form BRUTE of the JPEG and import only the one you want - but even for me it is just logical to the format you want to shoot not the format you want

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can't really do this - if you do not want RAW do not pull on it - shoot JPEG only

The only way to do this is to export (menu, file == > export) JPEG images in a folder on the desktop, delete them photo and wait until they are completely removed from all devices and then réimportent just JPEG images

The only way to import the JPEG is only to use Image Capture and import only JPEG files

  • Can't the IMPORT of NEWS photos of camer and phone without duplicating all of THE 'old'!

I have a HP G60 - 445DX Notebook PC with Windows Vista. I am certainly in need of a new computer, but have given up pretty much to import pictures from my cell phone and a digital camera because it never detects the latest photos taken more! I have literally THOUSANDS of duplicates at this stage. I just connected my phone to try to import pictures from the family vacation last week, and it has detected more than 7,000 photos! ... that would be all THE photos stored on my phone files! I went through this before, and in desperation, waited for-e-ver and allowed pictures of transfer (with resulting from thousands of duplicates). Is there a solution? I went in the gallery settings photo and fact ensure that the import settings were on Original filename... and went to Microsoft updates and necessary update is no longer available for security reasons. Help! UGH! Photo gallery becomes a unmanageable mess of useless!

    Hi Erin,.

I would like you to manually copy the images in a folder of documents and check if it helps.

This will help us know if the problem is with the photo gallery of Windows folder or file documents.

For duplicate files, I suggest you to see the procedure in the following Microsoft article and delete duplicate images.

  • The import image like Photoshop file vs PNG

My video guru created an arrow for me in Illustrator to use first to point the finger the items on the slides I created in InDesign.

He saved or that exported in a Photoshop file and sent to me, saying that I should just import the Photoshop file into my timeline first.

When I told him that I tried to save it as a PNG first so I see the thumbnail in Windows Explorer (and, I guess, in the sandbox in the first), he seemed to say 'reluctantly', ' fine, go ahead and do that.» He seems to believe that a Photoshop file behaves better in first as a PNG image.

I'm going to be rotating and panning/image of the arrow, but any zoom be down in size.

What's the story with the help of a Photoshop file vs a PNG?

    Thank you!

PNG is fine.  Ignore apparent reluctance.

  • How to import pictures and Photos files

    Hello

    From the Finder?

    Thanks in advance!

    Carolyn

Basically you can drag folders with pictures directly in the window of Photos or the Photos icon in the Dock.

Or use the command "file > import" and select the folder in the file selector Panel.

The Photos appear in the album last import. And pictures will warn of possible duplicates.

But if you want to create albums for folders in the Finder, use an Apple Script.  Can't stand the pictures to match the folder structure in the finder for albums.  See this tip for the user:

  • Too big for the standard of encoding DVD file size - please advise

Hi - I turned a 6-hour training session that went well.  I turned it to 1280 x 720.  For the web version, it will be no problem, as I'll just export to F4V.

But I'm having a hard time finding for the DVD export settings.  I know that the drive is limited to 4.6 GB.  I broke up the sequences PPro CS4 30 minutes or more (some are smaller or larger than others).

I first exported to QT, but found only 30 minutes export way too big (8 GB) and still it brought down to 2 GB, but which will only allow me to put 60 minutes on a single DVD vs the almost 2 hours I want to get on 1 disk.

    AVI is even worse.

I know that widescreen is a larger size, so I'm willing to make standard NTSC, but I can just know that export by establishing in PPro CS4 allows you to do this work.

Can someone advise me on this?

    Thank you.

    > Again and export of first MPEG-DVD works great. I exported it and then still chewed down from 60 minutes of finished video

This seems really odd... to me... as looks that you encode twice, once in the body, and again in yet... but, if you are happy with the DVD, that's all that matters

I'm still working with an audio track, from my camera, so no comment on your 2nd question

  • Increase the size of the default screen of the photo files open

When I drag a picture file in Photoshop, it opens in a size much smaller than the workspace. (This is especially true with vertical photos [portrait]). Therefore, whenever I open a photo (and I do usually hundreds of times a day...), I drag the path right down to enlarge the image, and then I have to scroll the mouse wheel to photography to expand to fill the frame (approximately). Then only I see well enough to make the required adjustments in the file. Is there a way to tell Photoshop what size I want the photos appear in the workspace, so that it opens each new photo file size?

I use Photoshop CS (not CS2 or CS3).

Thank you very much for your help!

  • The Lightroom export file size: why it's so small? How can I maximize the picture quality?

My image file size is much smaller after editing and export through Lightroom. It is impossible to maintain the size of the original file in order to preserve image quality? This small file size will have a negative impact on the prints? Any help is appreciated!

The file size is not an indicator of picture quality! You are looking at the wrong measure.

File size is determined by the number of pixels you have, the quality slider in the dialog box export and of a dozen other things, most of which you cannot control.

Want to watch the number of pixels (width and height) and not the size of the file.

It is impossible to maintain the size of the original file in order to preserve image quality?

Not only is impossible, that it is also meaningless (see above)

This small file size will have a negative impact on the prints?

Instead look at the size of the file, you must look at the number of pixels of the exported photo (width and height), and this will determine if you get a decent impression. The usual standard is that you need 300 pixels per inch.
