  Hi Forum.

  I am currently repairing a 300-1700-Sat and reinstalling windows ME (Yuk I know but that's the preference of customers), however it does not show that there is any ethernet on the system hardware. There is an ethernet port on the back of the laptop, but it just does not appear in Device Manager.

  My first was, however, that it can be disabled in the Bios, I checked and there is no option for ethernet.

  I'm not an expert, but you are sure that the laptop has a LAN port to 100%?
  The laptop is an oldie. That's why I didn't find a lot of information in the internet, but I studied a bit and found that the device supports only:
  Parallel port, PS/2 mouse or keyboard, 2 x USB modem RJ11, speaker/headphone, microphone (no internal) port, PCMCIA port and external monitor port of CRT.

  I hope someone can help. I reloaded a new version of windows on my laptop, I don't have the recovery disk but downloaded all the drivers from this site. However, I can not the LAN port to work. I tried several times to install the driver but no luck. In the Device Manager, it says device cannot start for the Intel 82559 fast Ethernet LAN on motherboard.

  Can someone please offer some advice? I am a person of correct PC then understand the concepts and can get around the windows.

  Satellite U200 what model do you have? The number of other Sat U200-xxx would be very useful to know which LAN chip was equipped with your laptop.

  But generally, you can find all the drivers on the European driver Toshiba page.
  Check the model number and serial (bottom) and choose the correct LAn driver Toshiba page.

  Notes; Win XP should be updated to the last State. I mean that you need SP2 and the additional fixes to ensure that everything would be fine.

  I have a friend who has a Satellite 1800-504 he bought 5 years ago. Now, he bought an ADSL modem, what he wants to connect to the computer. The problem is that when the connection (ethernet) is supposed to adapt is closed. I've never seen anything like this and I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is? Is it not possible to connect to this computer to a network (ADSL modem)? or what we can do about it?

  Looking for a Windows XP driver for this mobo high and low. Saw a post saying RJ45 built in loan but no components behind it? Documentation of suggests its loan?

  Any ideas if there is a compatible model that I can use the lan driver from? In addition, and I guess that's maybe that is not there - can't seem to identify the manufacturer of the network adapter.

  I have 3 laptops Satellite L650 - 1 dg ethernet port used to connect to 1 GB. Some time in the past months, it stopped. I tried the latest Atheros driven site without success.
  Windows says that the hardware is an Atheros AR 8152 PCI E Fast Ethernet Controller but it used to connect to 1 GB.
  Someone at - it ideas?

  You are right. This model of laptop has Atheros AR8152 10/100 Base-TX LAN card.
  Now to maybe stupid question, but what is your problem. Is the transfer of data via LAN card too slow or what?

  My old Satellite 1100 works perfectly, but suddenly the letter 'B' and the space bar don't work at all. I clean under the keys without making a difference. Please check the connection to the motherboard? (Why this should suddenly I don't know failure.)

  First, there is no driver for the keyboard, because it s a main machine and it s connected via PS/2. If a keyboard that is connected to a PS/2 (and even in an internal PS/2 port of the laptop) won´t never ever need a driver.

  And with regard to the two keys: you can try it. There are just a few screws under the lid of the keyboard that needs to be unscrewed;), and finally, you check the cable. If you have not received some success
  a readjustment of the cable, then the keyboard is probably defective. In this case, it would be good to check ebay for parts for example.

  To clarify the issue and the scenario, one of my friend described a typical scenario in which there are 2 AEs. AE1 has an ISP in its port WAN and AE2 has a different ISP in its WAN port. This 2 AE can mutually connected between them by using ports LAN AE1 and AE2 ethernet cable?   As wrote Akuma did you use the Toshiba Recovery disk or the Microsoft Windows disk?

  After installing XP, make sure that Service Pack 3 is installed. It contains important updates and can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba.

  In addition, try to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager, restart the computer. Ports will still be recognized and ready to use once.

  Satellite 1100 is really an old classic, but he should be able to use common desktop applications such as Word or Excel with no problems
  Virtual memory also known under the name a paging file is a file on your disk (default C:\pagefile.sys) than Windows applications and use more physical memory (RAM) according to your needs. The default and the recommended of pagefile.sys size is 1.5 times the amount of physical memory. Virtual memory is the amount of physical memory and the pagefile. So, if your computer has 512 MB of RAM, there is a page file 768 MB by default, for a total of 1.25 GB of physical + virtual memory.

  So what to do in your case? Generally, the RAM upgrade should solve this problem. You can also try to increase the size of the pagefile.sys.
  This can be done in system-> tab advanced properties-> Performance settings-> advanced-> virtual memory change tab.

  After the change of virtual memory, you have to restart the laptop again.
  If this will not help then an upgrade of RAM would be required or a new laptop effective ;)

  I have a Satellite 1100 Z6 and the screen does not appear correctly. It seems to show what I can only describe as a low resolution image.

  I instslled the last card (downloaded at Toshiba) Intel graphics driver and my settings are 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz and I have tried tweeking the settings but without success.

  I believe that the cause is due to an incorrect display driver and not the graphics driver that my display driver shows as a standard 'Digital Flat Panel' under hardware devices. I tried several drivers display different but once again with no luck.

  Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
