The pci-6111 can capture samples 400 000

I'm just a signal that lasts 8 seconds.  The signal varies from 20 kHz to 25 kHz, so I would probably sample right around 50 kHz?  At that note, and if I wanted to capture the whole 8 seconds, according to me, that it would take me about 400000 samples.  Is there a way that this can be done with the card PCI-6111. FYI, I'm using LabVIEW 7.1. Thank you.

Would it not correct to say that the PCI-6110 can be set to 'redeclenchables' but the PXI-6115 module cannot use this property?  If Yes, where is it documented the series cards can do trigger?  For example, is it possible to configure the trigger on the PXI-6124?

    Hi Joel_Neptune,

The PCI-6110 and other materials as the PXI-6115 S series and SMU-6124 do not natively support NOR-DAQmx analog input alarm. However, you can use one of the generalist counters/timers of the Council to generate a reenclenchees pulse train, then use this as the sample clock pulse train. This transportation example shows how:

LabVIEW\examples\DAQmx\Synchronization\Multi-Function.llb\Multi-Function-Ctr Retrigg Pulse Train generation for the Clock.vi sample

In addition, the new material of the simultaneous sampling X series are supported trigger analog input without using a separate task of counters/timers.

  • Problem with a precision of analog input on PCI-6111

    Hello

I'm reading an analogue signal which varies from 0-11 V using a card of acquisition data PCI-6111.  The signal comes from a Tube set (PMT) which is part of a microscope configuration, so it is very important that the resolution of the analog input signal be as wide as possible generate quality images.  According to the data sheet for the PCI-6111, the analog input resolution is 12 bits, which should correspond to a sensitivity of ~2.686 mV for my voltage range.

To test this, I set up a task to analog input with a 0-11 V voltage range to read samples of an analog output, which I wrote a simple waveform.  Since the 16-bit analog output resolution that I assumed that it would not limit the accuracy of this measurement.  I have attached the VI I used for this measurement below.  The analog input data are saved not truncated in a text file.

Analyzing these data, I found that the real input sensitivity is ~9.766 mV, corresponding to levels of voltage exactly 1126,4 and ~ 10 bits.

Is there a reason why the resolution of analog input is much lower that it is indicated on the card?  What are some of the ways I could improve the sensitivity of this measure?

    Best,

    Keith

  • PCI-6111 valid sampling frequencies

We have old card PCI-6111 that we still use. A question was posed regarding the applicable sampling frequency setting.

According to the manual, this thing must have base clock of 20 MHz and 100 kHz. There also a divisor of 24-bit and (not sure about this) multiplier of 2 bits. I guess that these can be used for the base of appropriate clock frequency scaling.

What sampling rate can be set on this thing? This is a spec 5 of average size, then that would be the upper limit. Can I put any arbitrary frequency (integer) under this? Or what I need to work explicitly what it's capable of? With a 24-bit divider, this would imply that there is a wide range of frequencies that doesn't "work" on this map.

What happens when I select a frequency that is "bad"? Round it inflicts, turn down?

Hello Isaac, it's Paul with engineering Applications to the OR.

This device offeres 2 at simultaneous sampling of the analog inputs, 5 MS/s per channel - The 2 AI can enjoy up to 5 Mhz per channel each.  You can only have 1 frequency clock for your tasks to HAVE, but this clock frequency can be adjusted from 1 kHz to 5 Mhz, set by you.  Note that most of our maps allow GOT down to 1 HZ, but this ADC is different because it uses a pipeline ADC convereter.  In addition, since this card can taste at the same time, it means that two analog channels will be read at the same exact time (in parallel).  In addition, the value of I is a 12-bit number.

  • NiDAQmx limits the maximum number of analog samples which can be read / buffer?

I try all the time on a USB-6363 to 1000 Hz 2 channels analog samples.  Everything works until I have started to increase the number of samples to read only once in DAQmxReadAnalogF64().

I have set up the buffer in DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming() like twice the amount of samples, I want to read at some point.

Up to about 8000 samples (128 000 bytes: sizeof (double) x 8000 x 2ch) it works and read call returns without delay once all about 8 seconds.  Increasing the number of samples other than that, I can no longer read the data (the DAQmxReadAnalogF64() always holler times).

Question: am I running in a limit on the maximum number of samples that can be read or buffered... maybe a DMA limit any?  What determines how big you can make the buffer in DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming()?

Maybe it's not obvious, according to the documentation, but if you look at the output value of the parameter samples per channel function DAQmxReadAnalogF64 reading, you'll see that when it times out, he reads what was available when it has expired. So if you're always calling this function, and your timeout value is too short, then you'll always be timeout, but you will always catch all samples. You can view this as the function will return when the buffer is full, or the timeout is reached. That's why we have provided an exit indicating the number of samples read.

As a general rule, ask not read like this with DAQmx. I would recommend registering a callback for EveryNSamples (there is an example that's bundled with the CVI on how to do this), or by specifying a longer period than what it will take to gather real that many samples (in your case, 8000 samples at 1 kHz would be > 8 seconds). The main problem with the polling stations with a short time-out is that you should ignore errors that is not recommended.

  • When you use the NI-CAN Transmit sample receive the same Harbor; can a virtual CAN channel (RCA or 257) be used?

I work for a company that produces and transforms electric parts. We strive to get in remission at nine of the ECU, experiences, Instrument clusters etc. I'm trying to learn how to use LabVIEW to write commands and read the data on the CAN bus. I have downloaded the NI-CAN driver. I am currently 'play' with the same reception Port.VI show in the basic frame of the finder example API folder OR. I am not able to send the number in the data to write the table that it be read by the ncReadNet Mult .vi. When I put the parameter to 'Pending entries reading' the ncGetAttr.vi returns a 0 to indicate that there are no frames to read. As a result, the Mult.vi ncReadNet does not run.

I don't have any connected equipment, I use the virtual CAN channel CAN256. Is this the reason why I can't get data frames in my queue for the Mult.vi ncReadNet to read?

When you use the NI-CAN Transmit sample receive the same Harbor; can a virtual CAN channel (RCA or 257) be used?

CAN carry 256 and 257 are connected to eachother through software.  When you write about 256, you can read the data on 257 and vice versa.  I think the example you mention is a writing and reading on the same port, but what you want is to probably to make a copy of this VI, in order to run two at once, where it opens 256 and the other opens 257.  Then, when you write one that you will see on the other.  I think you might be able to use the test panel CAN too read an and use the example of the other.

  • The PCIe for USB 6211 OEM replacement

    Hi you all,.

We want to change our design to use PCIe card data acquisition, since we had a few USB driver problem in the past. Is the PCIe-6321 a good match to replace the capture USB-6211-OEM card

    Is there a better alternative?

    Thank you

    Fabrice

    Hello Fabrizio,

Thank you for taking an interest in our line of PCIe cards DAQ. I took a glance at the USB-6211 OEM and PCIe-6321 to see if they are similar in specifications and capabilities. I would say the 6321 is a good match to replace your current USB card. As long as you intend to use no more i/o lines than expected or exceeds the designated sampling rate then it should be a good substitute.

If you need high speed sampling or more i/o lines for various tasks, then another card can better meet your needs.

  • Problems with timing of analog input PCI-6111

I'm reading the analog input of a PCI-6111, who receives a square signal of 1 KHz with a cycle of 50%.  I put the sampling frequency to 1 MHz and wait until the data points are 1 usec outside.  When I check the signals received, it appears that the duration of each period of the square wave is 1.22ms instead of the expected 1.0 ms.

The following is a snippet of what I tried:

    int NUM_SAMP = 10000;
    DAQmxCreateTask("",&mTaskHandle);

    DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan (mTaskHandle,

    "(/Dev1/AI0","",DAQmx_Val_Cfg_Default,-10.,10.,DAQmx_Val_Volts,null); "

    DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming(mTaskHandle,"",1000000,DAQmx_Val_Rising,DAQmx_Val_ContSamps,NUM_SAMP);

    DAQmxReadAnalogF64(mTaskHandle,NUM_SAMP,10.0,DAQmx_Val_GroupByScanNumber,mDataBuf,NUM_SAMP,&numRead,);

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Hello SNL_NB_1167,

A good place to watch code you know works would be the finder of the example.  "" "" Open the finder example and navigate to hardware input & output "DAQmx" analog measures ' tension ' ContAcq - IntClk.prj

Run this code and see if you get the same results.  If so, then we would know that it's a hardware problem and not a problem with the programming.  If you see the correct behavior, then you have code that you can shape your out of.  I hope this helps.

  • Block in the amplifier with high material sampling rates no DSA

    Hello

I intend to use the starter kit OR locking amplifier to detect a harmonic signal of 400 all about. I intend to use the PCI-5105 digitizer (I don't him have not bought until now, but I will soon). The start kit lock, I downloaded and unpacked the files and was hoping to give it a try with an NI USB-6363 however the vi does not open because it says that there are a lot of sub - VI lack (Subvi read.vi I HAVE... clear.vi, etc.). The LockinDemo.vi also seems to use NI 4472 as a default material. My questions are if the lock-in-amplifier starter kit OR 1) can be used with PCI-5105 and 2) cannot vi missing of the be downloaded from somewhere or be replaced by other blocks on mine?

Thanks in advance for any help

    Benoit

    Hi Benoit,.

First to start development with LabVIEW Real-time, you can check if your system supports LVRT. You can make use of RT disk utility that will test your system as shown in this article: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9209361E17708D548625744A007FF353

We have lists of equipment belonging to systems tested here: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-10692 and you can always check for the other hardware compatibility here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/8239

We do not have a driver available for the PCI of pledge cards but if these cards use VISA calls, you can develop and LVRT recognizes your card by following the KBs:

    (1) acknowledge the third peripheral part with LVRT: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3142

    (2) expand LVRT peripheral Driver PCI: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3251

    I hope this info helps!

  • PCI-6111 is recognized as PCI-6110

I have a Board OR marked as PCI-6111, but when I inserted in a PC, it has been recognized as PCI-6110. Subsequently, none of the inputs or outputs work. The analog inputs still show a flat 10V line, while the exit is blocked to 500 mV. The card go through self-control, however fails self-calibration. Reset of the card does not resolve the problem.

Based on the images below, what a card 6110 6111? Could he just scored, in which case the card is probably damaged?

It looks a little dfferent PCI-6111 cards available to us, but perhaps that is a previous model (it had been built, it seems, in 2000).

Or might pose the problem with inputs and outputs that the PC does not correctly recognize it? If this is the case, is there an easy solution (in relative terms) of the problem, sending to OR for repairs?

    Thank you for reading.

    Filipp,

Where did you got this card?  It is a very strange problem.  184111 K-01 part number is for a 6110.  The part number 184111 G-02 is for a 6111.  The jury is without a doubt a 6110 as you can see the 2 of the 6111 4 chips on the left hand side related to the 4 channels of the 6110 vs.  So I recommend you all what's wrong with that you send it back in OR for repair.  You can give me a call at 1-866-275-6964 SEO SR #: 1436085 and I can help you through the process of RMA from here.

  • Continuous monitoring of the mouse (USB) with fixed sampling rate (500 Hz)

    Hello

I'm quiet new to LabView and there are simple applications that I am still unconfortable with. I have to constantly monitors some analog channels to my DAQ and simultaneously to the value of X and Y of the mouse (USB). Signal acquisition of surveillance data are a simple procedure, but how to capture X and Y of the mouse as contibuous undulations sampled 500Hs (for example) so I can merge them to signal data acquisition? What is the synchronyzation of the signals of the acquisition of data and the extra-DAQ chanels created with data from the mouse?

Thanks a lot for your help and your patience!

    Olivier

    Quick explanation:

When I said "throw a timed loop around this" what I really wanted to throw a loop timed around "acquire input data.  I don't know how it applies to these screws (it certainly when you talk about material!), but generally when talking to a device we open/close only once and loop on the functions of acquisition/generate.
