  I'm having a time difficult trying to rename a column in the presentation to 11.1.1.9 layer - even if I uncheck 'use the logical name Colmn' the "name" box does not become white, it remains grey. Am I missing something simple? I thought I could rename objects in the presentation layer to make them more user-friendly for some reason any?

  I am fairly new to OBIEE, and I need to know what Siebel/fields make up a particular field in the presentation layer. I can put it back together at the physical layer in the repository, but I need to know the exact domain name / fields in Siebel. I've attached a screenshot of the source of the column of the repository, and I don't know where to look further. It is said it is derived from "sum (Fact_W_AGREE_F.GLOBAL1_TOTAL_AMT)", but I don't know what Siebel field is "GLOBAL1_TOTAL_AMT". I also tried after the mapping in Informatica Powercenter Designer and I can't seem to find the correct field.

  

  Also, if I may ask... Why are there 2 tables of facts in the column Type of Source? What does that mean?

  Outside the option proposed by Christian, you can also use the document of ETL data lineage to identify the source column. ETL team normally maintain such a document in each project. If you use BI Apps and you have not created custom fields, you can use the data lineage guide provided by Oracle. Screenshot of the doc is attached below.

  OBIEE supports ODBC and JDBC - use one of your application. "tables" will display presentation folders.

• Rename columns in the presentation layer

  I need to change the names of columns in the presentation layer. I don't need just the beginning of a Word to be capitalized. I have to go to MDB layer and use the wizard to name change and get all the columns again to the presentation layer. We have a lot of columns manually so would be very laborious. I try to in the presentation layer itself using wizard to change of name, but somehow the 'next' field only is not highlighted to go to the next step. Any suggestions? Also if I change any column name in the presentation manually layer also should I change the name of MDB layer as well.

  I guess that this happens because you have already changed the names of column to upprecase. You can reanme lowercase and then try to change the first letter of the names of columns to uppercase.it should solve the problem.

• Reorganization of the presentation layer in the BI Server repository

  Is there a way to re - order the presentation layer in the BI Server repository? Currently, if I add something new to a table in a field - it is always placed at the bottom. Also, if I add a new table - it is also set down. Then I have to remove everything below where I want it--and add it back. It seems that there must be an easier way! Any help is appreciated more.

  To rearrange the columns, double-click a table name and then click on the "columns" tab
  To reorder the tables, double-click a subject domain name and then click on the tab "tables of presentation".

  Not necessarily a more clever name, but a smarter way: search + replace via Catalog Manager.

  Search for "display Table". Market
  Replace it with "presentation Table.Markets.

  Does anyone know how to access the presentation layer using one tool other than the front-end server OBIEE? What happens if I wanted the presentation to Excel or SQL of the query developer layer. Does anyone know how to do?

  You need to use the ODBC connection. Use it dashboard OBI presentation and Excel too.

  TIMESTAMPDIFF function first determines the timestamp component that corresponds to the specified interval setting. For example, SQL_TSI_DAY corresponds to the day component and SQL_TSI_MONTH corresponds to the component "month".

  If you want to display the difference between two dates in days using SQL_TSI_DAY, unlike butterflies SQL_TSI_MONTH and so on...

  Have we not say "Metadata server Reload" submission services every time that do us change in the file of the RPD. I made a change in the presentation offline layer and started BIServer but when I got to presentation services change did not reflect until I asked to reload the server metadata. Please specify.

  If you change something in the RPD in online mode, you must run "Reload Server Metadata. If the changes are in offline mode, you should stop 'Présentation Service' and 'BIServer' services and then restart the first "BIServer" and after "Presentation Server". It's important stop and start serving in that order.

  I don't think that the user exists. If you are able to connect to the administration tool, you are allowed to make changes in the repository.

  Maybe you can create a 'level playing field' - environment.

  Is it possible to perform NO actions, that are defined on the presentation layer, at the start of a workflow?

  On our supply workflow contains a step where we select the cluster to build the virtual machine. Once all the other objects required has been selected will be calculated automatically.

  This means that in the next drop you now get a list of all the hosts that are members of the selected group. We do the same thing with the networking and all data warehouses that we use for a virtual machine.

  All actions are mainly related to the 'list of preset of elements', "Data Binding" and "Default"

  The problem is that when I start the workflow I have, of course, a lot of error messages in the log file because I did not choose a cluster at this stage. Also it takes a while until the presentation layer will be shown.

  Can I do to avoid actions that are related to the presentation of the workflow? And make them run when I chose a cluster object?

  The best practice is that the first line of your action must be one if (cluster == null) return null;

  This will speed up the presentation a lot.

  Another more complex way is to use a disclosure ognl expression, but they are difficult to maintain and may not give any gain on the action and returns null.
