  I bought new ink cartridges for my deskjet all-in-one 2540.  Are filled with cartridges, but they have the same number as the original cartridges shipped with the printer, except that they are 61XL instead of 61.  The Tricolor cartridge will work, but the black, you get a popup saying that it's an old cartridge version and he's trying to send me to a website where I can buy HP overpriced cartridges and they try to sell me 61 series cartridges that are the same ones that I bought.  I'm in the trash, this HP printer or is there a solution for this.  I had nothing but problems with this printer and will never buy another HP and wouldn't have certainly never recommend one to anyone I know, but wish to continue to use it because I didn't for a long time.  Thanks for any help anyone can be able to give me.

  I have a HP DeskJet 2540 on my Dell Inspiron 1545.

  The instructions from HP work so you should be fine if you follow them.  The CD contains a ReadMe file that describes the installation procedure.

  You must install the software first, and only then connect the printer.  Note that you will first need to install it on a USB connection.  You can change this later if, like me, you intend to use it with WiFi.

  No matter which utility allows you to configure a wireless connection is avaialble ot for Yosemite, your router does support ot WPS as well.

  To work around this and the pritner to connect to your wireless network, follow these steps:

  1. Press the wireless button, click the button next to settings, click the button next to the setting.
  2. Press the wireless button, click the button next to settings, then on the button next to Enable Wireless (if they are presented... so disable Wireless does not skip this step).
  3. Turn the printer and then on again once, make sure that the wireless is turned on the blue wireless light flashes.
  4. Since the Mac, click the WiFi icon, then join the other networks.
  5. Click view the networks and select the HP Deskjet 3055 rated network.
  6. Open Safari and go to http://192.168.223.1.
  7. Open the network tab, and then select wireless configuration wizard.
  8. Follow the steps to connect the printer to your wireless router, once you have completed the wireless light should turn on solid.
  9. Reconnect the Mac on your home network, and then add the printer under printers & Scanner by clicking the button "+" if it is not already listed.

  802 cartridges are right for your region. If you bought the printer from one region other than the India, you will need to contact technical support, so they can help the region getting changed on the printer. Contact for the India numbers supports below.
