The reader of CD/DVD reading CD and DVD incerted incerted, no clue don't read do not?

CD/DVD read/write driver reads CDs but is unable to read the DVDs. suggest, if there is no solution for the problem.

Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.

Several good info here:

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Hello buddy

    > the player gave me problems since it was a new computer
Can you please tell me how old is this model of laptop? It takes about 5 years now. And after a long period of time, you come to the conclusion to exchange the optical disk drive. Strange!

Anyway have you checked the compatibility with the FW UJ-811 t? the assignment of PIN on all optical disk drives is not the same.

In any case for DVD - RAM features, you must install driver DVD-RAM. I ve used a long time ago and DVD-RAM P20 worked very well.

I put t know if the same is available for the models of laptop computers in the United States but check it please United States support page under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

  • Successful installation of the reader is not successful

Yesterday, I got Reader X on my PC and it worked fine.  When I tried to upgrade to reader XI, I downloaded it on my computer, and at the end I was told that the installation was successful, but the XI player don't show up anywhere.  This has happened 3 times.  So, I removed the drive X and tried to redownload the XI player.

I downloaded Adobe Reader from the Internet, backup and run the exe file. In the end, I was told that the installation was successful.  However, the drive is not on my computer.  There is no drive on my desktop icon.  When I try to open a PDF document, drive is not listed as an option to open the document.

Adobe Reader isn't in my downloads folder, even if I recorded it (when I downloaded it) and headed the exe file.

I have a Compaq Windows XP desktop PC.

Thank you for your message.  What is the brand of your computer?  It could be that your computer manufacturer has a required update before installing SP3.  You should check with them before moving to the next steps.  After checking with you computer manufacturer, try to run the new hardware wizard to scan.  The instructions are below:
Click "Start" > click on "Control Panel" > double-click "Add Hardware".
Answer that the device is already connected and allow the system to scan.

  • Solutions to the problem of CD/DVD drive cannot read DVD discs

This article will tell you 3 ways to solve the problem of the CD/DVD drive do not read the DVD disc. Please the process step by step.

    Solution1. Clean the DVD disc

If your Player cannot detect the DVD disc, the first thing you need to do is to clean the DVD disc. Use a soft and dry cloth (not painted) to wipe the disc from the center of the disc to the edge. Please take care to not to use a paper to clean the disc with a circular motion, it will scratch the disc.

After cleaning, inert the DVD on the drive to see if it works, if the reader can't read the disc, use a cloth of cotton wet with water or alcohol to clean the disc. After the disc dry, inert re the disc on the drive. If the reader can read, the operation is complete. If this isn't the case, please turn to the option2.

Option2. Check the disc to see if it has been damaged

Draw the DVD from the drive and check if there are some scratches or small cracks on the disc. If the disc is damaged, please try another DVD disc to see if the drive can read. If the drive cannot recognize the new disk, there could be a problem with the CD/DVD drive. Please turn to solution 3.

Solution3. Clean or repair the CD/DVD drive

When a CD/DVD drive has been used for a long time, its ability to play disc will only get worse. Then, the reader can not read some discs, or blocking your computer in the middle of the reading disc. This is usually due to the aging of certain parts of the disc, CD/DVD player dirty.

Open the drive to check if the DVD reader accumulates dust and dirt, if so, the cold air from the hair dryer allows you to clean the inside of the DVD drive. Be sure to not blow on the optical sensor orally, or clean it with a cloth of cotton with water or alcohol. After cleaning, insert a DVD disc on the drive to see if it works. If still no, you need to call the s command customer service or take the reader to a computer repair shop.

    D: drive does not

for some reason when I put a disc in my drive to download a program, the reader does not recognize, I go to my computer and the folder is empty, it seems he does not see the drive, but really don't know if my disc is bad because I can put a movie into the drive, and the film plays , its been like this for a few months and I would like to avoid a system restore since then I downloaded a few programs on the web, so I was wondering if it could be a setting or something.

Are the applications that you are trying to install from the CD or DVD drive?  If they are all CD, a CD of MUSIC playing when inserted?  If this is not the case - it could be your laser CD came out, but your DVD laser works very well.

In addition, when this message appears, it ejects the disc I have here. I did everything. My computer is up to date. I went to the only Device Manager update my CD/DVD drive and it is already up to date. I don't know what to do from here.

    Hello

Check with Dell Support, their drivers and documentation online and ask in their forums known issues.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly. Since it accepts no disc do not forget to remove ALL the power and control the
cable connections - remove and replace (at both ends where possible).

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    ===========================================

This troubleshooting could not help if there is alignment and/or wear issues however it
    a shot.

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

DevManView - free - an alternative to the standard Windows Device Manager, which displays all the
devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer

    I hope this helps.
