There is no disk in the drive. Insert a disk in the drive\Device\Harddisk6\DR6

I get this message every time I try to run a slide show program showit web. This happened only since I added a hardrive external seagate.

Hey Kori,

Until resolve us the problem, verify the following information on your computer and view the results in return.

  • Browse to the location of the slideshow installed showit web?
  • Check by disconnecting the external harddrivve and try to launch the program and check if you receive the error message.

I also suggest you to change the assignment of drive letter for the removable hard drive to one letter other than drive C and check if that helps.

To change the drive letter assignments, follow these steps:

1. sign the computer as an administrator.

2. Insert the external hard drive.

3. Click Start, right-click computer and then click on manage.

4. click on disk management.

5 right-click the partition, logical drive or volume that you want to change and then click on change drive letter and paths.

6. click on the removable drive, click it, click on change, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.

Restart the computer and see if you receive the same message.

I hope this helps. Let us know the result.

Thank you and best regards,

  • Problem with the PnP device

Problem when I connect to my camera Canon SD870IS.  Has started to occur after Windows has been reinstalled, using the disc had been slipstreamed with SP1.  Convenience store (Start-> devices) and printers-> right click and select Troubleshot reports there is a problem with the PnP device and suggest to reinstall the driver. Reinstall driver fixed the problem, but he returns as soon as the computer is restarted.  How can I permanently solve the problem?  Environment:
    Dell Inspiron 530
    2 GB memory
latest drivers for system devices (drivers have been updated since the problem began, that does not solve the problem)
    latest drivers for the camera
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

I carefully reread the manual of the camera, which proposed the transfer of the camera rather than the computer.  After doing this once, the problem has been resolved.  Apparently, initiating the camera change some settings on the computer.  It shows now no error when the camera is connected, and the file transfer Wizard starts automatically.

    Problem can be closed.

    Hello, Sashwat

If possible, test the drive in another computer and check if you are able to access or not. If this is not the case, the drive may be bad.

If it's a USB card with an SD card reader, rather than a dedicated, flash drive check if the card is recognized and accessible in other drives/devices. Also, check the metal contacts on the card to make sure that nothing is blocking the metal contacts. If the card cannot be read in other devices and contacts are clean, the card is likely bad.
If other devices can access the drive, but not by the card reader, the card reader could be bad.
