Can you try to go to services and verify that autoconfiguration WLAN service is started and set to automatic. Otherwise, set it to automatic, and then restart Windows. Check and see if you can scan for WiFi. If this is not the case, try to do the following:

Go to control panel-> network adapters-> right click on "wireless network connection". Click 'properties. -> Wireless networks-> use Windows to configure my wireless network settings

This disables PROset Wireless management wireless connections and uses the Windows ' Wireless Zero Configuration' utility.

The last attempt is to remove Proset then go into Device Manager and remove drivers ensuring to "remove the software driver for this device" then reboot and install the Proset drivers.

  • New Thinkpad E330 - cannot access BIOS

    Hi all

Starting today, I am the proud owner of a new Thinkpad Edge E330. I really the device and think it's a great buy!

    However,...

The device comes with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installed. And I wanted to run Ubuntu 12.04 in a Setup to dual-boot with it, I had plent of expierence that and it shouldn't take more than an hour to get there. Right?

Well, no. When I took out my USB with laptop computer started in Windows install Ubuntu. Again, no problem, I should just put the USB device as my primary boot device in the bios.

And that's when things go wrong. At the start I noticed the startup screen, saying: "press ENTER FOR AVORTER START NORMAL."

So I did and I got a window saying press F1 to start the configuration of the BIOS.

I press F1 and there I get a FLASHING CURSOR.

And nothing... He stayed there... Same thing with the other options in the menu I get when you press on enter, they all give me a blinking cursor...

I tried from the BIOS without pressing enter first and just hit F1 for a few times. However, it comes also with a blinking cursor...

What do guys? I'm a little disappointed that my brand new laptop can't do something 'normal' as simple as changing the boot priority...

I already searched the forums and the internet to people with the same problem, but they never seem to match my problem and seem to be related to problems of Windows 8... I got Windows 7 though...

I would appreciate help! I bought the laptop in an online store, so going back is not as simple as that...

    Looking forward to your help!

I'm not familiar with the E330, but on some systems of edge of the Fn button is set as "always there" as a default setting.  What happens if you press Fn + F1, the same?

And just in case, ensure that you have detached from your USB key.

  • ThinkPad Edge 13 WiFi does not work

    Hello

I've updated my Thinkpad with windows 8.1. But the wifi driver does not work correctly. After the installation, the device has been diasabled with code 10. I looked for a new driver and found one from Realtek to win 8. After this installation and restarting, the wifi works fine. Restarting the laptop again once the device has been disabled again. I have tried many different drivers - it's always the same: after the first installation and reboot it works, after the second start, the device is turned off again.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Satellite R830 - issues Wifi

I needed to change the security on my router settings. But something weird happened on my Satellite R830 running Windows 7 64-bit with card I Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230.

When I right click on the WiFi option 'Properties' usual (where I would normally change the security settings) is no longer there.

I deleted the connection in "Network & Sharing Center, Manage Wireless Networks", in the hope that Windows was asking me new settings, the next time that I am connected. But that did not help.

I've changed the SSID but Windows has always tried to connect without having to apply the security settings.

When I click on "Manage Wireless settings, add, manually create a network profile", nothing happens. No window to set up the network.

I tried two system restores, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers wifi (older and newer drivers), trying to do all this mode without failure, support network, all to nothing does not. I stopped all the loading of bloatware and disabled my anti-virus.

I am at a loss, but also end of my mind. Please help me restore sanity! Thank you.

    It is really strange.

I hope that your wireless network card is installed (listed in the Device Manager) and active properly.
What you can try is to start preinstalled ConfigFree. It is the small utility Toshiba.
Click with the left button of the mouse on the symbol ConfigFree and choose the RADAR option.

Radar must detect all available wireless networks. Is nothing detected?
If this isn't the case, I guess there is a problem with your router. Check the settings and do not forget the option WLAN is enabled.

Please test this and send feedback.

  • Iconia Tab W510 driver issues (WiFi)

    Hey there,

I am an Iconia Tab W510. Very nice, works well - I thought. I have the version with 32 GB. It is a device of demonstration, since it is the last of them was the store. Just like I wanted a Win8 clean and fresh installation I did full recovery for a long time through these 4 discs.

He worked in nice, but gave me an error as it began after full recovery. I guess it was on this custom in the OEM package software. The error message was "C:\Windows\System32\OEM\AlaunchX\AlaunchX.exe a referral was returned by the server.

This message is not the problem, but it may be important to find a solution.

After clicking 'OK' - as if I had another choice -the normal startup tab and I can use it. What I saw then was that, under the leadership of the unit, there are four devices without drivers. I downloaded the package of more recent (and updated the BIOS) driver from the acer homepage. The version of the driver package was 3.01 and the BIOS version is 2.00.

I installed the update of the BIOS at the beginning that surprisingly installed all the drivers missing. The broadcom drivers have been installed, there's no any errors during installation, but both, the SDIO of Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless adapter and the Bus driver Broadcom series on UART Bus enumerator do not work properly, because they are marked in the Device Manager with yellow warning sign. The message for two devices in Device Manager says: "this device cannot start (Code 10)".

I had a white night that without being able to find the solution. With the two drivers not working not properly the WiFi does not work, of course. And without a working WiFi this tab is... Well it's pretty useless to me. I read a lot of problems with this tab and its WiFi behavior but apparently not that somebody had the problem that I described here.

If anyone have a solution for this, I would be very grateful. Since it is a nice tablet, I really want to keep it, but which is not not WiFi works its really useless. So: any ideas how to fix this mess?

    Greetings

I've chatted with acer yesterday and told them what I've done. They came to the conclusion that the WiFi module appears broken, so I should send him my tab for repair.

The last thing I tried was install Windows Pro 8.1 and using drivers Win 8.1 from the support home page. He gave me the same error with two Broadcom devices once again, so it may not be a corrupted driver.

  • ThinkPad E330 cannot enter BIOS/UEFI more

Hey guys, I got a very annoying problem with my E330.

He came without OS, so I put 8 Win on the preinstalled HARD drive. Then, I went out for one SSD and put Win 7 on it.
    (all UEFI mode)

Since then I can not enter in the BIOS/UEFI more press either Enter or F1.
Pressing enter gives me still a beep, but then Windows continues to load normally instead of view several options, like he used to do.

And yes I am aware that I need a cold start to Win 8 to enter the UEFI

The only way to access UEFI at this time is through charms-bar restarting 8 Win in UEFI thing.

I tried to reflash the BIOS that does not of course because this is the same version, tried to remove the CMOS battery, that gave me an opportunity to enter the UEFI with F1 when he complained the date/hour of time.

Switching to Legacy only brings me to an infinite PXE - something loop of the error, but I still cannot get into the BIOS.

I tried pressing all combinations of keys Fn + F and without the Fn. Nothing works.

I don't want to return the laptop, but it is a deal breaker for me if I can't Win 7 running on this subject with UEFI accessible.

OK, the problem was solved with the help of the someotherguy of the user from the forum. It has detailed instructions.

Looks like that install Win 7 mode UEFI corrupts the BIOS.

  • ThinkPad E330 BSOD

A few months ago that I posted here on random BSOD, the slowness of extended priority response guaranteed when things go wrong. So to summarize, repeated BSOD, change of hard disk, the problem persists, has changed the map system. It took more than a few weeks.

The problem continued, once again, slow to get an engineer on site is poor.

The value of the extended warranty is poor.

I'm using a thinkpad notebook issued by school (lenovo R400) that uses Windows Vista.  I know almost nothing about computers, but a couple of my friends know a little, and none of them were able to help me.  Every time (it happened three times) I turned off my laptop in the last three months or so, I turn it back on and everything disappeared.  I downloaded programs, backgrounds, music, documents, photos, videos - all of this.  Now, I checked the recycling bin, so I know that it has not been deleted.  Also, if I check what has changed recently, I can recover some of them.  I usually just let my laptop to sleep, so I turn rarely completely off.  The first time it happened, there were just two Documents folders, two folders of music, etc.  The next time it happened, they disappeared, but they have either finally came on their own after a few days, or me just messing them back.  As I am currently in College, it is very important that I can access everything I could have written this year.  It is a big problem for me, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
