ThinkPad T43 1871-4AG

Hello

I know regarding the max resolution for this laptop is 1024 x 768. Is it possible to put it on 1280 x 1024. I tried the upgrade of drivers for graphics card and monitor. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Mr Gutts the earthling...

Unfortunately, you bought a laptop with a XGA screen rather than SXGA or UXGA resolution, they do not greater than 1024 x 768 resolution. In addition, there is no screen laptop I've seen with a screen resolution 1280 x 1024.

Your options are limited with each purchase of a new monitor with SXGA or UXGA and replacing the current XGA screen that you have on them now.

  • Questions of partition T43 (1871) hidden

I was given an old T43 (1871), on which I could install Windows 7 and, surprisingly, have almost everything works pretty well (even if there are two elements in the device manager that do not seem to be cooperating). Regardless, it works well (for an old machine Pentium-M with 2 GB of RAM).

    Here's my question:

There is a hidden partition which, if I understand correctly, contains information of the recovery, to make the machine in the way it was when it came from the factory. As this machine comes with XP and I now have Win7, is it safe to erase and delete this partition? Or is there something in this partition that has something to do with the blue Access IBM button that seems to be the equivalent after pressing the DELETE key in a generic Windows PC? Just in case I am confused the issue, let me rephrase the question. Relying on the Access IBM button above the keyboard works correctly (to choose a different disk or enter the BIOS) if I remove the area of the hidden partition (assuming I want to restore the T43 in its delivered state of XP?

If I have fubar was the question, please let me know and I'll try to clarify. Thank you very much.

    Barry

    Welcome to the forum!

It is perfectly safe to nuke the recovery partition you have no intention to run XP on this T43.

Once the recovery partition is removed, the blue button will offer you start options and nothing else.

  • When restarting Thinkpad T43 running XP Pro, error "Thinkpad Fn + F5 has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I'm using a Thinkpad T43 with XP Pro. When you're cycling on it always shows a message of "Thinkpad Fn + F5 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell this problem to Microsoft. "I hit send and continue switch upwards and everything works fine, including the wireless. Is it possible to get rid of this annoying little window on start up? Thanks for any help.

Hi and thanks for the answer-

  • IBM ThinkPad T43: Rescue and Recovery question

    Hello

I have an IBM ThinkPad T43. The Rescue and Recovery program opens whenever I turn on my laptop after a failed attempt to restore my laptop to factory settings. I cannot even connect on Windows, because the Rescue and Recovery program opens upwards immediately after I turned on the power. I tried to restore my system to factory settings using the program and the product recovery disc I bought at Lenovo, in the hope of resolving the issue, but every time I'm prompt "IBM could not restore your system.

How can I stop Rescue and Recovery of the opening and resume with normal startup in Windows? What should I do so that I am able to restore my laptop to factory settings?

Please help if you have any suggestions. I appreciate it greatly! Thank you!

You can use this TI pc doc disk bootable http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-56222 its been a long time since I used it, but I think that in the top right there is a tab that says utilities or something like that you can wipe the HARD drive from there as I've always used the quick option worked for me

    Welcome to the community.

your best bet is likely to be trying vista drivers when you can't find win7-specific versions. I presume you've seen the matrix of pilot t43 here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT035703 ?

There are a few choices for wlan Vista, but unfortunately no list drivers audio.

  • T43 - hangs on the splash screen

    Hi all

I have a G 45-2668 Thinkpad T43 that simply no longer starts. This laptop was not started or loaded for a long time before I got to it. Warranty is exhausted just 1.5 months ago.

    Description:

-By pressing the results of power on button to start the laptop. Start screen appears and nothing else happens.

-No reaction if I press the "Access IBM" or F1 button at all. I can not enter in BIOS or any other reaction (no beeps, no error message, no num lock light switch).

    Turns hard disk, CD-ROM prepares.

    What I tried so far:

-Remove battery and AC-cable, press the power button 10 times for a longer time. Then I plugged the AC cable and pushed F1 during the market. I sometimes start menu. But only rarely. And if I'm here, once again no reaction on the key pressing.

-J' opened the laptop, if there is no visible problem. It does not exist. After the opening and closing, I could pass once the BIOS, but there was no reaction to pressing any key. So I could not reset the BIOS of some default state.

-Portable computers will beep but if I remove the card memory.

    What can I do now?

    Please help me.

    Best regards

    Laurence
