  Last year, I panicked when I thought I had a virus. Rather than rely on my own multiple back-up system, I guess someone knew more about computers that I do and let someone else in my computer. My X 60 has not worked properly since. The Thinkvantage button does not work, and it is hit and Miss as to if I can get the thinkvantage functions to work. My wireless radio buttons don't work at all, and the indicator wireless lights turn on and turns off at will.

  I tried to reinstall the application and the update of all implement the Lenovo site, but nothing worked, so I think I'll have to reinstall the orginal factory settings and start over again to clarify these issues.

  I backed up all my data, and made discs (just in case) recovery... now my question is, how do I start to "rescue and recovery" / 'reinstall factory settings' when the blue button does nothing when I push at the start?

  (Works under XP - if that makes a difference).

  Problem solved.

  I managed to get into Rescue and Recovery manually and found that I had a backup on my C drive that existed prior to my problems. I just restore to that date and "presto!" the blue button works again!

  I'll have to spend the rest of the day, re-installing everything that has been added or upgraded from a year, but this simple step seems to have solved my problem. Who would have thought that I had a copy of backup to disk C - I thought I backed everything up to an external drive!

  Tip for any staff of Lenovo, reading this - if your security people knew more about Thinkvantage program, I could have solved this problem months ago - these are them who sent offshore to find updates to day and re - install Thinkvantage to try to get the blue button works again.

  The Thinkvantage button should launch recovery for the W520 menu. None of these tools of Windows 7 will work on Windows 10 and there is no possibility of mapping of the key in something similar. The W520 is also not on the official list of Lenovo for Windows 10 support either.

  You can always hit F1 to enter BIOS and configuration during the boot sequence screen.

  It should be the centre of Lenovo solutions now, you should try to install from the support site. Otherwise, you can connect the key in the registry.

  My keyboard (Logitech G11) has a switch that I didn't know what he did, so I went back. Did not notice any change and quickly forgotten in this respect.   I had to change the hard drive on my ThinkPad R60 9456 - HTG on a stay in France, the old man said all of a sudden there's an error 0000. Probably a physical damage in the Windows domain.  A local expert helped me with a Danish new Windows XP and reinstalled which is necessary to get a proper job. I saved all my documents and still have the old haddisk as an external hard drive with programs, documents, etc. But the blue ThinkVantage button does not work after the start-up and full operation. I have downloaded rescue and recovery 4 and everything there's ThinkPad and ThinkVantage Technologies programs. The blue functions ok button before starting to open R & r exactly where is the original messages and programs behind the hidden blue ThinkVantage button? I don't think it helps to use R & R to restore the system, because I don't have a God an old system to restore. Would it be useful just to cut and paste the old card R & R from your old hard drive to the new hard drive or the whole Levono or ThinkPad cards?  System update does not either, but I understand is something we will have to wait until May 31. Of course I can't live without the blue button, but it just annoys me that it does not work.

  Thanks in advance if anyone knows a solution simple faily. Here on a hill in French I don't want to take too many risks.

  Hello, I have just reinstalled my Lenovo T60 8741-HAM with Windows Vista business and the volume buttons do not work. I installed the latest drivers, hotkey, but who got the thinkvantage and Fn key combos work well, the volume buttons still nothing doing.

  I just fixed this myself this morning, after months of trying to get the blue button to work.

  Here's what I suggest:

  (1) see if you still have access to the rescue and recovery - by going "Thinkvantage" in the start menu > all programs menu.

  (2) as appropriate, choose rescue and Recovery > recover to a previous back upward. It should show you the list of backups that are on your C drive. If you are lucky, you will have a backup that date from before the loss of functionality of your blue button.

  This action took 10 minutes and revived my blue button.

  If you do not have "thinkvantage" in your Start menu, you will probably need to download from the Lenovo site, then use the rescue and recovery. Download Thinkvantage re-enter the program for me, but does not solve the blue button.

  I hope it works for you. I'm not a computer tech - just figured this out by myself, after trying everything I could think of.

  If this just started to happen, it may be a good idea to start with a system restore, if possible. See the following link Microsoft showing the various recovery options in Windows 10, including system restore.

  First try restoring, and then if it does not give a shot with the System File Checker. The following link is a very complete description of this command and how to use it. The command SFC - run in Windows 10 - tenforums.com

  Afterwords to test and see if the normal is restored. If this isn't the case, then try the reset method described in my first link.

  There could be a problem with the wifi driver that comes with Windows 10. I think that you first need to find the right driver for Windows 10 on the Acer site. Otherwise, you may need to install a usb wireless card.

  Anyone know why my blue button may have stopped working?  T61p, recently installed Win7 64.  Is is updated system and everything was fine.  It was with my W500 too, but my volume buttons and mute works more then, considering they are all operating on the T61p.  Remember uninstalling/reinstalling Power Manager & pilot on the newer machine to the difficulty, but makes no difference on this one.  Blue button still good to interrupt the boot.  Anyone have any idea...?
