ThinkVantage + Clean reinstall windows 8

Hello world

I'll get my X 230 computer laptop in a little more than a week and I was wondering if the ThinkVantage pack is useful? I am a student and a specialist in programming in a portfolio management firm at the same time, so I think that I will not need these features. Or should I?

Another topic is about reinstalling Windows. Is it possible to reinstall windows on an X 230? As I'm a bit of a nerd, I don't like windows that are given with laptops, I think they are dirty with unnecessary features, and install unnecessary software and they only to slow down the computer. This is the case with Lenovo ThinkVantage? Should I reinstall Windows 8 itself to have a better battery life?

Thank you in advance and "Salvation" of the France

I have a X 230 and I took it as given. LSC, location Manager tasks, launch fast and another bar Lenovo have left a HUGE PILE of messages "Stopped working" in reliability monitor. Uninstall the quick launch with programs and features. Uninstall Lenovo tools (I forgot the exact name) by going to the Start Menu, right-click on it and select uninstall. As I got rid of this lot, no more error.   (EDIT - it is call Center settings of Lenovo. Tipper).

Otherwise, Lenovo stuff is fine. Uninstall what you don't want.

Read for a while before you do a clean install. This is NOT Windows 7 and earlier versions. With Secure Boot, you will need to create a Windows 8 recovery CD/DVD (Control Panel, recovery). It's about the only way to reinstall Windows 8, if you want to use the OEM license. Standard backup tools of Windows 7 have disappeared.

My battery is excellent. I can go for a day on battery and still he is not dead. I am very happy with the battery.

I put start programs (Windows 8 provided) in the status bar system and in daily use for a long time, I never leave the office.

Look through what you have, and uninstall. Most of it as I suggested above. Otherwise, the machine works fine.

  • How to clean install Windows 7 on Windows 10

My old laptop packed recently so I had to buy a new one and it came with Windows preinstalled 10.  I'm not a fan of this os, so I want to get rid of 10 windows and install Windows 7.  With work, I found a new drive to install windows 7 to a computer store and now I want to change but I don't want to mess up so I thought I could post it here and see if there's something I should do first, or be aware of.  I have already moved all the files I want to keep it out of the computer to an external hard drive.  The unit is an Asus x552wa.

I've never done anything like this before so the tips (or step-by-step procedure) would be greatly appreciated!

Follow these same steps to do a clean reinstall Windows 7 which was used by 2 million consumers without a single complaint.

Remember to follow the steps on the drivers that are important, they are printed in red.  Windows is quickly updated via Windows Update and driver-complete in Setup.  One or two still missing after installation are easy on the PC or a specific Web downloads of the device Support page.  No modern device would not have pilots who work for Windows 7, which is the operating system that is more prevalent in the world today.

At any time you can reuse your Windows 10 license and get a facility much better that the bloated factory install make a clean install Windows 10   No one had any complaints from thousands of people who have so far one.

If you want to give another chance to the installation, you have now, try optimizations available in the Wiki - in particular establishing a clean boot to turn off the bloatware factory starting with Windows that strangles the BONES and is never necessary to all.  Also uninstall all antivirus inflated by default for integrated defender who offers better performance.  If you try these and other steps you decide you like Windows 10 better just like I did even if I was (literally) it is more supporter who helped tens of thousands of consumers seven Forums before install Windows 10 and find faster and more modern even while retaining what I liked the most in Windows 7.

  • OptiPlex 760 reinstall Windows 7

I have an Optiplex 760, which had originally Windows Vista. I bought another Dell from a friend who has installed Windows 7. I used it for a long time, but a year ago, he was struck by lightning. So I used the installation disk, which is Windows 7, to upgrade the Optiplex 760. It worked perfectly, without any problem. About 3 weeks, the motherboard has failed in the Optiplex. I bought a new one and installed it and it wouldn't start. I searched the forum to find answers and more were the same, which, with the help of an operating system Windows 7 on a new motherboard is almost impossible, and it is best to reinstall the OS. I did that last night and it works fine. But now it says my copy of Windows is not genuine and I don't know what to do. I don't have the original PC which had the Windows 7 operating system. I don't know what it was. How can I make my genuine copy of Windows 7? Thank you!!

Strictly speaking, the license is OEM and is not transferable. We could tell you to buy a new license, however, it is cheaper to buy a second hand OptiPlex 780 (superior material) with a Windows 7 Pro OEM license is to buy a retail Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 license...

On the other hand the 760 OptiPlex with Windows Vista was sold just before Windows 7 was released and was entitled to a free upgrade...

The system BIOS revision is A00 (August 26, 2008) and was released before the release of Windows 7. If the system's MBR (non-UEFI) BIOS A16 review (September 3, 2013) the Dell Windows 7 reinstallation DVD turns to this subject:

  • My computer is slower after reinstalling windows 7

A few days ago, my computer starts not up to scratch the windows recovery options helped, so I decided to reinstall windows 7.

As soon as he finished, I installed all my drivers from the manufacturer and ran windows update several times so I'm sure that I have all the necessary drivers.

but for some reason, my computer is SLOWER, it was before the reinstall, you would think it would be faster? I have no idea what is wrong, for a bit, I thought it was Skype causing the lag but after that uninstall and restart my computer that wasn't even the problem.

The disc is not erase the disc itself.  You do this by removing all partitions up to unallocated space, as I said above.  If this has not been done so installation is not really clean.

But there are many other tips and optimizations in Clean reinstall Windows 7 that all add to the best installation possible.   So I'd go on to see if the system can be improved.  If this isn't the case, you might want to start over with a clean slate.

  • I need to reinstall Windows 7 due to a virus infevtion.

I am a computer repair for a lady who has a virus on his laptop computer.  I need to reinstall Windows 7 because it's the key it has on the laptop.  I have a Windows 7 CD. How can I make sure that its key will work with my cd?  It will detect automatically?

    Hi Tony -.

If yours is the same version of the OS and the bitrate, so it should work.  Otherwise you can extract the ISO and unlock all other versions to choose yours during the install as explained in step 1 of Clean reinstall Windows 7 .

However, if you get clean infection scanned after running those recommended in the Troubleshooting for Windows 7 steps and there is no file system damaged after execution of SFC (3 times if necessary), then you might be OK to continue to improve the performance of the other steps in this tutorial and if there is place to Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

If you decide to clean reinstall Windows 7 then be sure to stick with the steps, tools, and methods that it contains which have been used by the 2 million consumers in various web editions of this tutorial without a single complaint.

  • Reinstallation discs isn't and can't reinstall windows 7 to upgrade to windows 10

  • Can I restore my OptiPlex 360 settings without reinstalling Windows?

I have an OptiPlex 360 running Windows 8.1. I'm not the original owner, and the previous owner has left a top Windows password. Is there a way to bypass the password without reinstalling Windows?

    I tried the following:

    • Shift + reboot: all the useful options on this screen requires either a password or a reinstallation of Windows. I don't have an installation or a recovery disk, but I can get one if necessary.
    • F2/F12 during startup: I have not found all the options to restore the factory settings.
    • Installation of Windows 10: I tried to burn the disk Windows 10 for a DVD image file and start from that, but I didn't get the error message "boot device available."

Factory settings can be restored in the Dell boot menu, or should I ask this at Microsoft Support Forum? Do I need a recovery disk?

    Thanks in advance.

The OptiPlex 360 has not supplied with Windows 8.1, it had to be a level of detail. You will need to clean Windows Installer, but given the fact that you don't have the Windows 8.1 key detail you can't simply clean reinstall Windows 8.1.

If you can get the Windows 10 Insider 10130 .iso image file, you can use this upgrade:

Completing all the windows updates since, but still no sound!

    Hello

Just unzip the files, you should be able to right click on the file and select "extract here". Once the files are extracted, just locate the .exe file and double-click it to launch the installation program, from there just follow the guests to install the driver. You may need to restart the computer for the changes to be detected. :-)

  • Upgrade the hardware of Dell XPS (L521x) how to perform a clean reinstall of Windows 10 Pro

    Hello

I searched on the internet with the question that I have before doing the upgrade and the re-installation of windows. But the messages and solutions are all scattered. I really want to clear this for me once and for all if possible.

First of all, the material that I bought for this upgrade:

1 Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD 120 GB (to replace the one 32 GB (factory default)

2 western Digital Black 750Go Performance Mobile HDD (7200 RPM, 2.5 inches)

    3 Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless - AC 7260 (802.11ac, 2 x 2 Wi - Fi, Bluetooth)

    4. crucial Ballistix Sport SODIMM 16 GB (2x8GB) PC3-14900 CL10 at 1.35v 204 pin memory

BTW, my Dell XPS 15 L521x has an intel core i7-3632QM and an nVIDIA GeForce GT 640 M. It also comes with 32 mSATA SSD as cache for the WDC 1 TB HARD drive.

    My goal:

1 install/reinstall Windows 10 mSATA SSD 120 GB and free 500 MB give or take for system reserved partition.

    2. use the remaining space in the C: drive.

    3. use WD Black 2.5 inch 750 GB HHD for cold storage

    4. Remove and reinstall the wireless card Intel Dual Band for a better Wi - Fi compatiability for most routers dual band out there. (Factory default, well, is not great to say the least)

    5. Remove and then install the crucial RAM (compatiable with L521x) is to upgrade memory of my laptop (maybe a little future-proof;) (D).

Before you start the upgrade, I know I have to do the following steps:

    1. update my BIOS/UEFI. (I did it)

2 clear accelerated Intel Rapid Start Technology (IRST) GUI (my laptop keeps inviting that "your system does not have any intel repaid with start technology").

    3. change Intel Smart response Technology (ISRT) to AHCI in BIOS

    4 back up my files

    5. my 10 Pro Activation of emergency Windows (how exactly? The Win10 Pro is upgraded to Windows Pro 8.1 with OEM Dell)

Now my question is what I do or what I've been missing so that what I will meet errors or problems if possible.

Also, I have heard or seen something on the OEM of Windows version. If I change the hardware, disk files or recovering backup activation does not recognize my device. Is this true? If necessary, I can buy a new version of Win10 Pro retail. But, what I really need to do, and does it perform a not-so-complicated work around?

    Thank you very much

    Dean

If you keep your motherboard you have no problem taking the other components such as SSDS.

Your system is already a Pro 10 Windows device.

Installing clean with 10 Windows installation media Pro TH2 your OEM Pro 8.1 Windows key will be automatically entered to the UEFI BIOS and Windows 10 Pro TH2 automatically reactivates when your systems online.

  • Steps to a clean reinstall of Windows 7 Professional upgrade.

    Greetings,

I want to do a clean reinstall (was installed once), on the same computer, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade version) and I'm not 100% sure how to do it properly.

    I have:
-Windows 7 Home premium 64 - bit RETAIL
    -UPGRADE Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

If I want to do a clean reinstall, I know that I have to reinstall Windows 7 family premium first, but I have to reactivate before you do the upgrade?

I ask because according to the EULA, we should not use Windows 7 Home premium again after the upgrade of the first time. (I don't want to lose my driver's license)

    Thank you in advance,

No, but you should do a custom installation using the Professional Windows 7 disc in order for a compliance audit to make qualification allows you to use the upgrade retail license.

How to make a custom installation:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

  • Removal of the reserve system and PQSERVICE during the clean reinstall of Windows 7

IM about to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows 7 using the windows 7 CD that I bought. I see a number of partitions:

    Disk 0 partition 1: PQSERVICE

Disk 0 partition 2: System reserves

    Disk 0 partition 3: Acer

    Disk 0 partition 4: DATA

I would like to reinstall also costs as possible

Can I delete Disk 0 Partition 1: PQSERVICE and Disk 0 partition 2: RESERVE SYSTEM

I think PQSERVICE provides stuff like the drivers for my ACER desktop computer requires. However I already downloaded the ACER site using my serial number. I'm more concerned about the reserve of the system parition.

I got response would be much appreciated. I'm not to make a terrible mistake.

    Thank you

your PC had no any CD to re - install because it is inside the PQSERVICE partition, you must make the CD yourself using Acer erecovery tool.

without PQSERVICE and create this partition with Acer erecovery CD/DVDs you will not be able to restore factory default.

If you don't want or need it, simply clear all the HARD drive and go with a simple installation of windows 7, PQSERVICE and system restore are not needed, the system restore is not created from the new facility.

The drivers are downloadable as you have already found.
