This allows hardware virtualization on Envy 17-J010EL

If I enable "hardware virtualization" in the bios, the laptop does not start.
In the HP website there are no solution and no update BIOS... means that this feature does not work in my laptop?
This feature is necessary to use Microsoft VS2013 for hyper-v feature
I don't have money to burn...

To set, updated manual card Ralink Bluetooth 4.0 driver.

Thanks for the support.

    Hello

I understand that you want to enable virtualization in the bios.

When you access the menu of the bios you should switch on security, then should be the option to enable the feature and system security.

Please let me know if it helps.

Once on this screen, you should then be able to select the BIOS F10 Setup menu to access the BIOS.

Then see if the BIOS of your PC has the same settings as on the picture below to find out where to turn VT

  • Hardware virtualization n H8-1230

I recently bought a h8-1230 desktop PC.  Everything on it works pretty darn good, and I am satisfied with everything except for one thing.  That one thing is proving to be a big problem though.  I do almost all my work inside virtual machines (because the OS needs to be in a controlled environment), and I can't seem to find a way allow the AMD - V updates to go hardware virtualization.  I searched the internet high and low, but I can't seem to find anything useful.

Without it, the computer is super slow and unusable.  The processor is an AMD FX FX-6120 and supposedly supports it, according to the specifications.  My guess is that the feature is not enabled in the BIOS, but I'm not 100% sure.

Is it possible to obtain a permit?  If I can't get that, then I may return the computer and get a new one.  I'm sorry to be a maniac on this subject, because it is also a good product, but it's a product that I can't really use at all.

    If this can help:

    Model No.: H8-1230
OS: Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition

Virtualization software: Oracle VM VirtualBox (4.1.18) - latest version

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion HPE h8-1230 , and is the card mother M3970AM-HP (Angelica2). Based on this document to the BIOS settings for HP Angelica/Angelica2 motherboards, BIOS VT (virtualization technology) option setting is under the security > security of the system as shown below.

  • Best-practice for hardware virtualization?

Hardware virtualization is disabled by default when I create new virtual machines in my VMware clusters. But what are the best practices for this what settings are recommended? Are there reasons NOT to activate the hardware virtualization?

IMO there is no advantage in allowing virtualization of hardware if you have no need for the virtual machine (for example, a virtual host of the ESXi).

  • Enable hardware virtualization in the BIOS

I'm trying to run a virtual machine on virtualbox, but it needs hardware virtualization enabled in my bios (it says).

I have a HP Pavillion a6347.it with Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q6600, where hardware virtualization should be possible (read this: http://ark.intel.com/products/29765/Intel-Core2-Quad-Processor-Q6600-(8M-Cache-2_40-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB... ).)

How can I enable hardware virtualization in my bios?

Thanks for all your support, I'm Italian sorry my bad English please

If you have the option of hardware virtualization, virtualization or virtualization technology material that it should be located under the tab power options. "Other options which can be found under power options include"after current AC power', ' NX not execute ", S5 max energy saving" and "WOL in S5. If you don't see the option of virtualization on power, look through all the tabs options. If you don't see the option of virtualization anywhere in your BIOS, it is likely that it is not supported by your computer.

  • Hardware virtualization enabled on the platform of workstation Hyper V works ok with 7 not with 8

Last week I got an equipped HP XW 6600 renovated workstation of two-processor Xeon E5450 Quad Cores. I played with Windows 2008 R2 Server Evaluation edition and was able to run the Hyper-V platform and run on a Windows 8 Pro evaluation version and a version of Fedora Linux.

Just this morning I put on day of Windows 7 Pro x 64 for Windows 8 Pro x 64, with hardware virtualization enabled in BIOS.

The Hyper-V platform worked well in Windows 2008 R2 Server, but on my new install of Windows 8 Pro (not the trial version but a good licensed one)

The Hyper-V platform feature is grey.

If you move you mouse a message appears:

Cannot install Hyper-V: the processor does not have BATTEN (second-level address translation capabilities. My HP got two Xeon E5450 Quad Core processors.

    What is happening here.

The solution... I found it myself:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/7704.client-hyper-v-survival-guide.aspx

Initially the message on the internet is that a Hyper V client on a Windows 8 machine requires a processor that has capabilities SLAT (Second level Address Translation). In my case, I have a HP XW6600 with two Xeon Quad Cores - E5450 workstation and how wonderful they are... no SLAT.

The best way I've found that works is the link above.

What you have to do is go to the command line by typing in the search (Windows key + W) charm and the search for CMD.exe and then run as administrator.

Then go to the command-line - C command prompt and type in there, Dism / online Feature /featurename:microsoft - Hyper-V-all, then press on [Enter]

Your system will reboot, reboot, and check all of the features of Windows and you will see the check mark and is more gray.

  • Satellite Pro L500 - how to turn on hardware virtualization?

    Hello

Please can someone tell me how to activate it? I have updated the BIOS to 1.9 and still can not see as an option? Secureable tells me that this cell phone it will work, but it's off!

    Thank you very much

    Hi nickcrush,

Hardware virtualization isn't according to the version of the BIOS, the question is if your CPU support this feature.

Satellite Pro L500 are equipped with different s CPU, so I recommend the Intel page. Check the details of your CPU if it takes support this feature or not.

  • Enabling hardware virtualization significantly slows the W530

I enabled hardware virtualization in the Security tab in the BIOS of my new W530 that running Win 7 Pro 64 bit. This has slowed the machine so badly that windows is now open to a series of slow shakes.

I would like to turn on hardware virtualization so I can run 64-bit OS in Virtual Box. Is there a solution to this performance problem? Thank you.

I fixed the problem (or went) and I don't know how or why. I hate it when this happens. At least everything works now with VirtualBox. Thank you all.

  • Enable hardware virtualization?

I have a TouchSmart IQ507 I believe, model type dual-core Core 2 Duo.  So, how can I enable hardware virtualization in the bios, because there is no option for this?  Running virtual machines is like a dog on this machine because I can't enabled hardware feature.

    You are right;

    http://www.Intel.com/products/processor/Core2Duo/Mobile/specifications.htm

All models of T5x50 lack virtualization.

    I have the T5850

    http://processorfinder.Intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLA4C

OK, time for a new issue, then, well technically 2.

Will be the support of iq507 intel chips T7xx running at 667 mhz?  T7400, T7200 and T7600 I know the bios must support them of course, but the 2 main issues that could stop them being usable is the thermal specification is 100 c instead of 85 C and voltage range is 1.0375 - 1.30V instead of 1.075V - 1.175V for the motherboard must provide a higher voltage, the cooling system must be able to handle the higher dissipation , and the needs of the total power supply.

Question 2, if I go to one of them, then I will have enabled virtualization?

  • BIOS for the hardware virtualization support

I would like to know if there is somewhere an official list of HP laptop computers that support hardware virtualization.

I'm looking for this list, because I know that a laptop computer with a processor compatible virtualization can sometimes miss the option to enable virtualization in the BIOS Setup screen.

    For example: http://www.wimsbios.com/forum/notebook-bios-and-other-problems-f38/enable-virtualization-amd-t13843...

If this list is not available, I would like to know at least if virtualization is supported on the HP15-N071SL model, I consider my next new laptop.

    Thank you!

    Hi Pyjo,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on HP Pavilion Notebook 15-n071sl. It shows me that this computer has the ability. Here is a link to read about the machine virtual compatibility.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • How can I disable hardware virtualization? EM64T in bios is greyed out.

HP Media Center M7360N with XP Home 32 bit OS. In the advanced configuration bios F11 the EM64T option is grayed out and is enabled. The "SecurAble" of GRC.com app shows "Hardware D.E.P." The window does not say that it is does not activate. In fact, it indicates that your computer is already configured.

It is the window that you would see if she were not enabled:

Assuming that you have an appropriate version of Win7, you can install Windows Virtual PC.
