Thoshiba Tecra S1 DVD player

I have new hardware and installed Windows2000Prof.

My problem is:
After that a starting the computer from the cd-rom station (now Z) does not see the files on the CD-ROM drive.

After the suppression in addition (new material) the CD-ROM driver it still works good but it's only until the shutdown of the PC.

I installed virtual drive bug (Alcohol120) I removed it after a testament.
TEAC has no driver because it is supported by windows.

Hello

is your version of W2k used a Toshiba OS recovery or your own?

If it is your own, that you should check if you have all the tools and driver downloaded from the page Web of Toshiba and install them in the right order!

This order can be found on the CD tools & security in an html file. This list is the order!

Goodbye Chris

Then stops again, put the drive in the notebook and the startup of the device.
The laptop should recognize the drive and must indicate the firmware again.

  • Tecra M4 - DVD player does not recognize discs in Vista

    Hello

After the installation of Vista my dvd player does not recognize discs!
No update XP! It was a clean install of Vista.

I found several links on the upper filter and lower registry entries this entry does not exist in my registry under the CDROM class.

I tried the XP disk it works fine and recognizes all.
Drivers are installed correctly no problem in Device Manager is invited.

So I have no idea how to run it, seems to be a Vista problem

Could someone help me? I am really frustrated to this topic

    Thanks for your help

    Maybe this helps:

-Remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD.
-Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    -Reboot the laptop

But what happens exactly? Which disks are not recognized?

  • Tecra 8000 - need DVD player software

I have an aging Tecra 8000 running XP Pro. It came with the standard DVD player (SD - C2102) I can not read the DVD. After a brief look at the electronic manual, it seems there is a MPEG2 decoder in there somewhere for DVD playback and it came originally with a program of DVD player who took advantage of this.

This DVD player is not on the system and just WMP plays the audio and RealPlayer not playing the ball at all.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

I don't know if DVD software has been bundled with this Tecra8000, but this is not very serious.
In the internet, you will find many freeware DVD player.
The new laptops Toshiba come with a preinstalled WinDVD program.
But you can also use other programs such as PowerDVD.
    Control the internet.

Also the dvd player is Intervideo WINDVD for toshiba.

    Any help is appreciated more.

    Shaks

I put t know exactly why the Win DVD hangs but especially something like that could be linked to the software files corrupt or confused.

I think that the best solution might be the reinstallation of WinDVD software.

Do you use the preinstalled WinDVD?
If Yes, then you need to run the recovery CD because the WinDVD is a part of the image of Toshiba which is placed on the recovery CD.

  • Tecra 550CDT: where to find the compatible DVD player?

My father has an old 550CDT and wants to replace the CD with a DVD player. The connector is different to modern readers.

What do you call the conector type?
Is there any slot-in DVD for the 550CDT?
I'll have to get a USB connector and use a standard player?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

This is a very old unit and I don t believe that you will be able to find the compatible DVD drive for this. By the way: the unit has only 266 MHz processor speed. Other hardware specifications are not bright. In my opinion, certainly not enough power to deal with DVD player.

  • Replacement for a Portege A100 DVD player

    Hello

My Portege DVD drive makes horrible rattling noises and seems to be endangered. I read in a thread here that universal readers could not work as of the Portege BIOS has assigned the DVD drive as slave and the new drive should be a slave to work. Is this correct? I really don't want to do the fix welding!

I have another laptop that has a TSST drive and I plugged it and the portgege showed an ide error. It of just a matter of having good firmware or is the problem with the above mentioned ide settings.

I selected a Toshiba PA3162E dvd player - 2 CD 2, but he said with the Portege 4000, 4010 compatitble, M100 and Tecra 9000 it's does not list the compatible A100. Does anyone know if this drive works on my machine?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If you check s manuals for Portege A100 is there a list of compatible ratings? Problem is that all Toshiba laptops do not have the same hardware platform and any waiting won't work on each laptop model. As far as I know the pin assignment is different. Because of this, you need compatible ODD for your laptop model.

As I said at the beginning usually all compatible sides are included in manuals s user document. Please check. If this isn't the case, please let us know.

  • Re: Question about the CD/DVD player for Portege M400

I have a Portege M100 - and the CD-ROM drive does not work.

Whenever I put a disc in I can just hear the motor turn the disc, but the computer is not picking up the drive. Device Manager picks up flawless.

It doesn't seem to be any firmware for this sorting (or am I wrong).

I've seen a DVD player for a M400 on ebay and I was wondering if that would take on my M100.

Before buying it, I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be compatible. It seems to be OK size wise, but I was wondering if my Portege M100 XP would be able to use it.

The description for the drive I want to put in the M100 is below:

  • Tecra M7 DVD: CD/DVD RAM drive does not work since the installation of Vista

I did a clean install on my new Vista Ready M7. He had XP tablet in a first time, and the DVD player worked fine. In fact I used to install Vista (Home Premium).

Now it doesn't work at all. It runs but does not read. Device Manager tells me impossible to start the device. Tried to update driver and he told me that he has the most uptodate pilot.

Downloaded all the drivers from the Download Center of Tosh for upgrade of Vista of M7 (who got bluetooth, rotation etc. function properly the screen). But none of the downloads seems to be a driver for the DVD - Ram drive. He cannot find a driver anywhere else (including the Panasonic site).
    DVD player is Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ - 841 s

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

On the Toshiba driver page, you can find the DLA for Tecra m7.
Have you tried to install the XP driver DVD-RAM since the Toshiba page on the Vista operating system?

    Maybe it'll market

But listening the CD/DVD drive uses the current Microsoft drivers that are included in Vista or XP.
This is why an additional driver should not be necessary!

    An additional proposal;
Remove the drive from the Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop.
After restarting again the OS should reinstall the drive and renew the software.

    Another tip:
    -Launch the registry
    -Choose the registry key;
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
-In the right pane, click UpperFilters and LowerFilters, and then click on remove.
    -Reboot the laptop

  • In Tecra A8 DVD drive replacement

My DVD player is down, I already have a replacement drive.

Does anyone have an idea where the output of the DVD player is located so I can get out? I unscrewed a few screws, but it won't come out.

Tecra A8 is the same as the Satellite Pro A120

To swap the DVD drive, you must remove the keyboard.
It's a little tricky and in my opinion if you n t have much experience with this you should go to a local ASP and ask a technician for help.

  • My inner smartdrive dvd player won't read DVDs more.  I have updated to Snow Leopard in Yosemite.

I am currently using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.  I bought in 2009 iMac with Snow Leopard and have to Lion then updated my current operating system.  The internal dvd player has worked with much fussing, (insert the disc - closing - turn after a wait - by pushing the drive when he jumped on reboot).  If I had the chance after a few hours, the video disc show up on my desk.  When this happened, I was opening the dvd player that was in the Finder and the disc would play. I also tried to open the dvd first player and then insert the disc.  That no longer works.  Yesterday, only it just stop working.  The reader still takes dvd and swirls and click as before but then ejects the dvd. Repeatedly stop and restart is no longer works.  I make sure that the dvd be clean before I use it and have tried many different DVDs without success.  I think it's a software issue.  Does anyone have an idea/instructions a nearly dead grandmother brain that can follow to update or redate back to original factory setting to help this poor Smartdrive not so smart?

I have no TV, only my computer and phone at low prices.  I need to watch that my library borrowed from the dvd.

    Thank you.

  • DVD player freezes when audio editing

My application DVD player recently started crashing every time that trying to change the volume of the silent era. The laptop is a MacBook 12 "retina 2015, using an external DVD drive that has worked very well for a year. Have tried on many different DVDs and they all load fine, DVD player auto-commence, but they all open with no sound. If I try to increase the volume of 0 on the slider, the player crashes. If I try to access audio via the menu 'Options' menu does load not for Audio and audio disk configuration is similarly frozen to corruption. Other audio works fine on the machine. Any idea on what could be the problem? Thank you.

    Greetings bhan001,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It seems you want to play a dvd on the MacBook connected via an external dvd drive. Given that the application crashes using each dvd that you tried it may be a problem with the application itself. There are a few things that we can try to isolate and solve the problem.  I would recommend you read these articles, starting in safe mode disables the 3rd party applications that may interfere with the DVD player application. If the problem persists, we can try a new user to test to see if it's a matter of profile or the scale of the system.

  • bk 2011 pro Mac dvd player spits out dvd

I have a 15 inch 2011 mac book pro. The dvd player does not work. When you insert a dvd into the computer, the computer acts like it's going to run it, but then he spits. She also shows an error message of the dvd drive on the launch pad. I use the dvd player / cd player a lot. Help, please.

    Hey glerouxwende,

Thank you for being a part of the communities of Apple Support.

I understand from your post that your MacBook Pro is not mounting dics and is just spit them back.  It's probably what is originally an error of the DVD player.  To help solve this problem, I would like to you please follow the steps below:

Accepts discs, but they do not install or are ejected automatically

    1. Make sure that the drive is not placed in reverse. The aluminum case must be upward as shown in section 1.
    2. Check the surface of the disc for scratches and dirt, as these things can prevent the disk on the desktop.
    3. Connect the SuperDrive for MacBook Air drive directly to the USB port of the computer instead a USB hub.
    4. Reset the controller management system (SCM).
    5. Make sure that your drive can read the disc type. The System Profiler or an Information system can provide additional information on the subject of what is supported by your computer media.
      • OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or earlier: Open Apple System Profiler by choosing "about this Mac" from the Apple () menu. Then, click on details.
      • OS X Lion v10.7 and later: click the Apple () menu and hold down the Option key. Select system information in the menu.
    6. If the disc continues to not be recognized, Contact Apple or an provider of services authorized Appleor make an appointment with a Store Apple Store.

You need to rip a DVD? Try MPEG Streamclip or brake hand. Both free. Streamclip better, but much more complicated to install and use.
