thumbnails of avi wmv

I saw this problem on forums, loads, but have yet to find a cure.
Windows Vista Home premium 32-bit.
I could not get a miniature preview of wmv avi mpeg files etc., could be, but not now
I can always for all images (jpeg, bmp etc.) and curiously, rm real movies
the default player for wmv files etc. is the latest version of windows media player, I tried different values by default but not good.
In the options always show icons never thumbnails is not checked, show in the preview pane preview handlers is verified and pane preview shows just the icon of these files as well.
I deleted the thumbnail cache.
I have not installed the odd codec packs
the only things I've added lately are windows auto updates, Hmmmmm!

I hope you can help

Roger

Copy a single AVI file into an empty folder, and then restart. After restart this file with the one AVI file (and only in this case). Now from time to time, refresh the contents of the folder and check if the thumbnail is displayed. While you do this, open the process tab check task manager and check if the dllhost.exe process is present (it is responsible for generating the thumbnail) and CPU how does use (to determine if it is actually doing something).
If you don't want to play like that you want to delete all the packs and codecs (Real Player) of your system by using programs and features and reinstall them one by a (logout and login after installation) checking if thumbnails reappear.
After my experience, I would say that the generation of thumbnails depend on installed DirectShow filters and its merits (more on that here). Filter DirectShow (which is usually a part of the package of codec) which has higher merit for this particular type of video is used for the generation of thumbnails. The background can be changed by editing registry settings is possible that an application doing this without your knowledge of the origin of the problem. He chose a DirectShow filter which has somehow the generation of thumbnails wih problems

  • How to convert a WebM to MP4/AVI/WMV video, etc.

    Hello.

I recently bought an app for my android device to record movies at home by using the camera of the device and the use of various filters and effects 'live '.
It is a cool application and does everything I want it, but the devs decided not to buy the rights of any file format, which included royalties. To this effect, my home movies is only stored as files WebM which is accessible only via the web (firefox, html).
This means that I have absolutely no plea PC edition or using my own movies of my own camera! -which is pretty frustrating because I want to make movies for youtube/vimeo original very soon.

It's a little sneaky and dishonest to the app devs as they should tell people this before buying the program, but the program itself is perfect (and quite unique) for my filmmaking needs.
So, how can I convert my own personal recordings a WebM in a recordable, editable on my Windows PC file format, and is there a safe video converter out there that I can use for this purpose?
(Preferably low cost or free, but above all, safe).

    Thank you

  • Upload a video to Amazon author Central?

I have a video minute of three-and-a-half that I just uploaded on YouTube. It's the content of a book I wrote and sell on Amazon. Amazon.com has a page named Amazon author Central in which an author can upload a video. Here are the instructions:

    1. We are unable to embed videos hosted on YouTube directly on the Amazon.com retail or author pages.

    2. However, if you are the original source of the download of the video you can download the video through your account Central of the author and it will appear on your author Page, as long as the content remains in the Amazon.com content guidelines.

    3. Adding videos

    4. You can add up to eight videos and choose the order in which they appear on the Amazon.com author Page.

      1. Select the videos that conform to the following guidelines:
        • In one of the following formats: avi, wmv, flv, mov, mpg or.
        • Not more than 10 minutes in length.
        • Less than 500 MB.
      2. Profile Central author tab, click on Add a video.
      3. Click Browse and select your video.
      4. Click on the box to confirm that you own or that you have disabled all the rights to the video that you are adding, and then click download video.

I would like to add my video which is now on YouTube on my author Central page. The instructions above don't give me enough information on how which to that. Can anyone on the forum help out me.

How can one last thing - I know what my video format is in. I use Adobe Premiere elements 11 as the editing program. Should I include my YouTube video URL?

    Tommyvincent

What if all you have is what is shown on YouTube and this is the video you have downloaded it, then you can get a copy of the download on Amazon on the Amazon site.

Here is how I found it works.

    • Go to YouTube and your username at the top right of the page.
    • Click on the triangle to the right of the ID to get a list of choices. Select video Manager.
    • In the page that opens, find your video that you've downloaded. Note that there is 'Edit' under the thumbnail of the video. And furthermore noted, that there is a triangle to the right of the word 'change '. Click on the triangle to get a list of choices.
    • Select the "Download MP4".

According to the needs of video from Amazon, you should be able to download the MP4 to your hard drive (where you save it) on Amazon.

Please check the above and let us know if it works for you.

    Thank you.

  • Slow display on Satellite A30-404

Lately I noticed how, even in color (16 bit) mode, this laptop has a super slow response. For example look at tiny flash animations, they stutter like you wouldn't believe. Even compared to my old desktop PC, it's slow. It was faster, as far as I recall.

The system is clean, it loads the least possible drivers and services (I co-developed XP Performance edition, so there is no way, it's the fault of Windows here).

I checked on Intel based for this (82852/82855 GM/GME) drivers, and those who are much more recent versions than on the download from Toshiba site. Their installation instead of the 2003 Toshiba drivers did not help a bit. Also tried with and without direct-x, but the display is still extremely slow for what, in my view, that it should be.

I also noticed, but it is not new that the codecs load very slowly. If I load a small avi, wmv or mpeg, it takes a minute before it even starts. Memory management is formidable in the A30, apparently. Maybe the chipset drivers are bad, but hey, I already tried to reinstall those as well. Those most recent of your website in any case.

Also, I have to emphasize that there are already a lot of RAM in it. And Yes, it's the right kind of RAM (the brand was sold as being checked for this particular model).

Really, I must say, I had 486 desktops with only 4 MB of memory display in their graphics cards do these things so much faster!

Does that mean hardware is broken perhaps?

I plan to install an older version of Windows 2000. We hope that you provide drivers for this. I don't like XP and Vista, it is so heavy, so too heavy and full of nonsense really, nobody need or use.

    Any advice is welcome.

    Hello

I wonder why you have problems with your system because if you co-developed XP Performance edition you should surely have enough experience to handle this kind of problem. ;)

I suggest a complete reinstallation of the system, the latest drivers for your components and the top of the whole procedure should be an install a codec as "K-lite codec pack" pack

If the problem persists then, another idea would be to clean the system of cooling for a dust of clobbed cooling system pulls a lot of performance since the CPU throttles down which is the cause of these issues.

IMHO it would be indispensable and if the measures I've described do not help, then maybe that something might be wrong with your hardware.

    Welcome them

  • I can't play movies remotely. Is it a question of copy protection?

    original title: WMC

On one of my remote laptops, I can see and play all the TV recordings except movies.  Is this a copyright thing or what?  Is it possible to play movies recorded?

LOLz.  Happy that you got including (and it was simple.)

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to read a disk (on the server) to a client.  But, you can play torn discs.
Some MC users swear by the media browser for this purpose; others swear by MyMovies.  I like MyMovies.  I have installed on my main MC client/server and the client installed on my desktop & laptop.  I can manage the collection of any one of them and all my rips play on any of the three, as well as my two Xbox 360 (running as Extenders to the main MC.)

Now, tear may be a bit of an art (and there are a lot of personal preference, too.)  I rip a movie (main title only, w / English 5.1 or better acoustics) using DVDFab (free); I then point video again (currently 75 $US for Suite TV, you need to do this) at the level of the rip and that convert DVR - MS.  In this way, I maintain full compatibility with all what I use and keep the FF/Rew features on the extensions.

You can rip & convert to many other formats (AVI, WMV, or leave as mi/gal) with other (and free) tools; but Extenders are limited in what they can play natively (or, with playback controls complete.)

What is a VCD (Video CD) or a data CD containing video files stored on it?

Insert the CD into your CD drive (if no window open... Close them) and go
    TO... Start / computer...

Now, right click on the letter of your CD-ROM drive and choose... Explore...
This should display the directory of the CD.

If there is no folder... open them...

Now... What are the extensions on the file names? If you see extensions such as...
.mpg, .avi, .wmv, .mov, etc. they are just videos that can be copied to
a folder on your hard drive. (copy/paste...drag/ down)

If you see the .dat files... it's a VCD... are looking for the biggest .dat-file which should
either the video file, copy to a folder on your hard drive and try to rename

  • MOD files

Is it possible to add files to the list of the Media Hub to automatically synchronize files?    MOD files are created from a camcorder with a digital hard drive.   Files can be huge and I would use the media hub to store.   Currently, I manually copy the files in the media center... not a huge deal, but it would be nice if it was automatic.   Any possibility to add type MOD files to the list in the future firmware versions?

    Hello

You can try using NTI Shadow backup tool that came with your NMH to save the MOD files you have towards the NMH. Like what TonyBDPM has said on another thread are the types of files supported the import tool...

    * Music .mp3, .wma, .m4a, .aac, .lpcm, .ogg, .flac, .ac3, .mpa, .aif
    * Pictures .jpg, .png
    * Videos .mpg, .mpeg, .mp4, .avi, .wmv, .divx, .3gp, .asf, .xvid, .m1v, .m4v

Basically, as far as I can tell, I think it's a software limitation of the import tool only, the NMH here is just a simple storage device.

    I hope this helps.
