  Here's a simple Anatomy how it works:

  You have an HTML form that collects user input and you assign a "name" to each of the input fields - fname lname, email, phone, etc...

  And you set up the form for 'post' that data to a code of "php".

  So when your PHP code is running, he's trying to 'get' data that submits the HTML form - and it gets these data in input names / ID that has your form HTML:

  $email = addslashes($_POST['email']);

  $comments = addslashes($_POST['dimensions']);

  You define a variable for each of the question for example: $name picks up 'name' data in your HTML form and so on.

  Then you say your PHP script to use the mail() function to send data to a predefined address.

  That's the key. There are a lot more, you can do with your PHP code - for example, the format of the data in a 'table' and then email it to you. Or, once the form is sent, send an email to you and the person who used your contact form.

  On a sidenote, there is a nice PHP class, that you can use to manage e-mail. It supports SMTP authentication as well (if your server does not support or disable the php mail function). You can get it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpmailer/

  I am running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 on a MacBook Pro 15 "retina (mid-2015) with 9.2 Messages. I also have an iPhone running iOS 10.0.1 6.

  A few days ago, I got an alert that someone had logged on to iMessage on iPhone 4S that I didn't own. I changed my password, and since I was not able to use the Messages on my MacBook. If I try to send a message using my phone number, he is trying to send a text message and fails. If I try to send from an email address, it sends as an iMessage and fails immediately. Everything works fine on my iPhone, but the conversations from my iPhone will not sync to my MacBook.

  Make a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

  Quit the application.

  Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iChat.plist.  Move the .plist on your desktop.

  Restart your computer, open the application and test. If it works fine, delete the plist for the office.

  If the application is the same, return the .plist where you got it, crushing the latest.

  If this does not work, repeat the above, but remove the com.apple.imagent.plist

  It is unclear if this is a problem with Thunderbird or with my mail server, so I write this message at a time.

  I use Thunderbird 38.4 on Windows 10. My ISP is Tiscali (TalkTalk). As a result of the recent problems with TalkTalk, I changed my password, then deleted and recreated my account on Thunderbird. This worked OK. However, I found that I had created an IMAP account, whereas before it was an account pop. I deleted the IMAP account and created a pop account. Since I was not able to receive e-mails. I tried both POP and IMAP accounts, following the instructions to the letter in each case. I accepted the default settings provided by Thunderbird (mail.tiscali.co.uk). I also tried the settings suggested by TalkTalk help pages: pop.tiscali.co.uk or imap.tiscali.co.uk. There is no anomaly in port (110). With the POP account using pop.tiscali.co.uk , I get an error message, but with the other formations I get nothing, as if there is no message to receive.

  The outgoing (SMTP) to smtp.tiscali.co.uk mail works fine.

  I can send and receive messages via my account on the Tiscali/TalkTalk webmail server.

  I'd like a POP account is operational.
