I have a desktop running windows 7 can it be linked to my new flooring?
OT: New Surface put in place.
I just bought a 3 pro surface and in the process of adjustment to the top of things began to change on my wife's cell phone. I also noticed that there are tiles on the surface that I wouldn't use or has not requested but are used by my wife. I think it is because we have a shared Account MS. How can I cut this link but still use the same email address. I also have a desktop running windows 7 can it be linked to my new flooring?
Hello
If you use the same Microsoft Account for several devices then installed applications from a Windows Store device will appear on the other device. In this case I suggest you use a different Microsoft Account or you can create a local account. Follow the steps in the section create a local account from the link given below.
Create a user account

Desktop gadgets Windows 7 (x 64) has stopped working
My desktop in Windows 7 (x 64) gadgets ceased to operate (display does not correctly). Tried to fix the problem, none of their solutions from Google. When I add gadgets, I only see a .75cm small white box of 1 cm and the X to clear or remove the drag to go directly under the right-hand side of the box empty tiny. Does anyone else have the Gadget to stop working?
UAC (User Account Control) is turned off? Gadgets will not work if you have turned off UAC you'll need to turn it back on it. If you still have questions after that only to try a system restore to a time where they worked as it may be a problem of corruption/system registry.

Remote Desktop on Windows 7 Professional, connect to Windows XP SP3.
original title: DISTANCE OFFICE WIN7 PRO on WIN XP HOME EDITION SP3.
I am trying to connect to a Win XP Home Edition SP3 computer laptop from a Win7 Pro on WLAN & Gigabit network. It always brings up this:
Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer to one of the following reasons:
(1) remote access to the server is not enabled.
(2) the remote computer is disabled.
(3) the remote computer is not available on the network
Make sure that the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network, and remote access is enabled.
DETAILS:
Windows XP Home Edition SP3 with RDP file Version: 6.0.6001.18589
Windows 7 Professional with RDP Version: 6.1.7601.17514
I also tried to download and install the latest RDP on the Microsoft Web site, and it starts to install goes up to 65% and then I get a popup saying:
"Remote Desktop connection cannot be installed because your operating system already has a built-in version. See all programs\Accessories\Communications\Remote Desktop connections on your Start menu. »
The Windows XP laptop has a wireless card, so I use a linksys WUSB100 V2. with my WRT610N Linkysys however Windows 7 is mostly on gigabit ethernet with router.
I tried to run RDP on WLAN & ethernet both. No luck yet. Help, please...!
P.S.: I need access to Windows XP laptop computer from my Win7 Pro laptop.
Kind regards

I lost my desktop in Windows XP Home Edition.
I lost my desktop in Windows XP Home Edition. The only thing on my monitor is my wallpaper. There are no icons, toolbars, task bars, and I can't right click for properties - nothing happens.

I ran diagnostic programs, restarted in safe mode and file modified, has tried to return to a good Setup, ran a CHKDSK, used Norton Go-Back and so much, I can't even remember. And my DSL modem is unable to connect to the internet more. Help!Hello Numbersgame,

How can I improve my desktop for windows aero performance
Hi I have a 4.4 WEI this being curbed by "Graphics: Desktop for windows aero performance" have a score of processor game graphics 5.9 5.6 5.2 and 5.9 main hard drive memory. Any ideas on how I can get the score of 4.4 superior?
What about JohnSearch for the latest drivers on the website of the manufacturer of your video card. Manually search for on the site, don't use no matter what scanner because it and the one in the device manager - driver updates can find old drivers certified, Microsoft is well behing certifying new driver.
If you need help to find them look in control panel - display adapter - device management
Tell us the brand and model with driver Dates and Versions.
Also allows a fast video card but I'd check the driver 1.
You realize that if disable you Aero the video picked up a little. Rob - support element, Cascade Bicycle Club P.O. Box 15165, Seattle, WA. 98115-0165 206-522-3222-24 hr hotline 206-522-BIKE http://www.cascade.org

Hey jennyanderson99
as you ask specifically about active desktop, here's what it is, or in your case what she was before vista released
Active Desktop is a feature of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 Windows Desktop Update that allows the user to add optional contentHTML on the Office, as well as a few other features. This feature was designed to be installed on theWindows 95 operating system then in force. It was also included inWindows 98 and later Windows operating systems up toWindows Vista, where the feature wasdiscontinued. This corresponds to the version ofInternet Explorer 4.0 to 6.x, but not Internet Explorer 7.
HTML users can add in place of the ordinary wallpaper as independent resizable desktop items. Items available online can be regularly updated and synchronized so that users can stay up-to-date without visiting the site in their browser.
Active Desktop works as the technology of desktop widget that allows users to add customized their desktop information.
Here is information for active desktop for xp

information from wikipedia about active desktop are less than
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Desktop
The introduction of the Active Desktop brand attempt by Microsoft to take advantage of the ephemeral trendtechnology push led by PointCast. Active Desktop has imposed a number of "channels" ofdesktop computers that provided information updated continuously, such as headlines and stock quotes, without the user to open aWeb browser of the user.
Active Desktop debuted during the publication of 1997 of Internet Explorer 4.0 for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, install it as a feature of theWindows Desktop Update offered to users during the upgrade option. The Windows desktop update is commonly referred to as (bad) Active Desktop itself, but it is actually a whole Windows shell to level v4.0 to v4.71, or v4.72, with many changes in the Windows interface, resulting in a level look and features almost indistinguishable from the Windows 98, then again to-be-released. Features include the ability to allow uppercase filenames (the old v4.0 Desktop would forcibly filenames in title case uppercase), the dynamic tracking file selection click configurable, customizable by HTML, QuickLaunch folder display settings mini buttons on the taskbar next to the Start button, improved to Start Menu drag and drop re-organization of the elements and menus contextual click right to rename point etc. With the update, Windows Explorer now has an address bar in Internet addresses that can be entered and driven seamlessly.
Active Desktop was widely regarded as a failure, with one of the main problems being its use high system and reduction of the stability of the system resources. Although not used[citation needed], the availability of Active Desktop was decisive for the legal argument Microsoft in antitrust case of United States v. Microsoft , that Internet Explorer has a feature of Windows, not a separate product.
Later use
Windows Vista has replaced the Active Desktop withWindows Sidebar (now called Gadgets Windows Desktop fromWindows 7), which also allows the components to add to the desktop. Windows XP is the newest operating system from Microsoft to support Active Desktop. It seems that the 64 bit version of Windows XP supports is no longer Active Desktop. It provides always the option to display Web pages and channels built with MicrosoftChannel Definition Format (CDF) on the desktop.
Display HTML features are now mainly used for creating wallpapers originals and adding the fields of desktop search. For example, a user can copy the following code to display the search box of Wikipedia on the desktop:
