  It is now April 19, 2015 and tiles of Windows 8.1 still do not work.   Unfortunately, the Metro user interface is a POS when it works.   When it isn't all what I can tell, it's 'Why Msft never release this OS?'.

  In fact, I'm guessing it's a POS when it works because I never got any of the tiles preinstalled to work.   Those that I added work.   If we use the desktop computer.   Why can't metro tiles works somewhat like the icons on the desktop?   Seems pretty easy to me.   But it must be very hard because the 100,000 employees of msft paid a lot of money just can't get there.

  Who knows maybe the msft guy is right and my QHD of 2880 x 1620 laptop monitor is not high enough resolution.

  I'm desperate for help try to solve this problem with my laptop. When I got my laptop (at Christmas) the majority of the tiles on the home screen windows 8 worked, however after a week or two they have gradually stopped working, which is very frustrating.

  When I click on a tile, it opens on the screen but the wheel continues to turn and nothing loads. I spoke to Microsoft online, however, they said that the problem with Toshiba as the laptop was purchased with Windows 8 already integrated.

  Suggestions, they did involving anti-virus and updates did not work.
  The most frustrating part is the Windows tile store does not work so I can't try to updates or new downloads to see if they will not solve the problem.

  Of course, I can use my laptop without the tiles, but I'm upset that I paid extra for Windows 8 and chooses the best part of it not working!

  Any advice on what to do next would be great, thanks in advance.

  In the weather app right click and setting should appear on top. Click sites and add the new location.

  Hi I recently bought a Samsung Ultra book, like the machine and Windows 8 is pretty cool, although in the last week the tiles (metro interface) has stopped working entirely online tiles does not update and I can't access the internet through the application of search of Google or Internet Explorer 9 App also none of the other functionality of Windows 8 are working at all online.   You can use the restore or refresh options without going in the settings of the PC.  Read the instructions carefully, it says:

  I was wondering if someone could give me some ideas on why the live tile for SkyDrive (metro app) does not work. I have tried to uninstall, and then reinstall the app to SkyDrive and also tried to turn off the tile direct and turning back on, but it still shows just the blue tiles static original, is not through my pictures, etc..

  Live tiles by the way work well for my other apps, like weather, News, sports etc, it's just the SkyDrive which does not work.

  It's no problem if it cannot be fixed, it would just be nice to operate.

  I had exactly the same problem a few days ago.

  Well, I tried several solutions but nothing worked. I even called Microsoft telephone support and after a search, they said they can't help.

  Finally, Live SkyDrive tile was fixed by the following steps:

  1. Moved all the SkyDrive files on a local disk.
  2. Delete all folders in SkyDrive
  3. Then use the SkyDrive desktop application to synchronize files again.

  After the files have been downloaded (couple of hour later) the Live tile began working on his own.

  Looks like a cache of indexing problem.

  Next time I'll try clearing cache tile first.   -duh

  To clear the cache of diamonds of all applications in the Windows 8 start screen, select settings, tiles and erase personal information. This will delete all the info of all the tiles
