Time advised to work with iPod shuffle

Hello. How many hours it is advisable to use my iPod shuffle on a daily basis to extend the life of it? I appreciate your suggestions.

There is no specific amount of hours per day, you must or must not use your iPod. Use it when you want to load when she needs. Try to avoid leaving to drain completely. Don't leave in cars. You cannot extend battery life beyond the ability he has.

    Hi all

I have a sony ex3 and working with xdcam ex codec - I have a time-lapse sequence of JPEG images that are long 22 seconds

When I'm trying to make it in 1920 x 1080 @ 25 fps using several methods and formats I keep ending up with 3 GB file sizes and more

/ 3 gb is crazy for a clip of 22sec

Those someone has suggestions on the correct setting to use when rendering the above sequence

    I'm using cs5

/ 3GB is not crazy at all for 22 seconds of uncompressed HD video.

Depending on what you want to do with the film long term, you can return on an intermediate rendering without loss (something like a Quicktime movie using the PNG compression) and then compress this film using Adobe Media Encoder (or a similar compression tool) in a format of delivery more suited to your file size concerns (i.e. 2-pass VBR h.264 encoding with flow). If you do not have the storage, then you can always ditch the not compressed / lossless compressed after that you have your final product. The reason for which you would like the middle stage is then you can get the best possible compression. XDCAM (whatever flavor you're using) is a highly compressed codec and limiting the acquisition. You don't want to go to him, most likely.

So, the question is, what will you do with your final product? Web site?

  • Airport Express works with iPod Hifi?

I have iPod Hifi and I would like to buy Airport Express to make them wireless and play the songs of Mac and iPhone. Would this work? What else do I need? Also the wifi extending functionality would work fine too?

    Thank you for your time.

The iPod Hi-Fi is not a loan AirPlay device. However, it has a 3.5 mm analog/digital audio input port that can be connected to an AirPort Express Terminal for reading iTunes stream from either the Mac or iPhone.

Note: Both the Express and the iPod Hi-Fi built in DAC to convert to digital-to-analog audio sources.

With respect to the extension of Wifi, the wireless router to be extended with the Express should be another Apple product: Express Extreme and Time Capsule.

After installing Windows 7, cannot get the WMP recognize iPod Shuffle when it is connected to the PC to synchronize, or download music new and additional files. I have to go back to WMP 9 to this get rid of WMP 11?

    Hi Rebeni,

This is what iTunes installed on your computer?

IPod is designed to be used with iTunes. Windows media player cannot sync with iPod shuffle, you must install the plugin for windows media player sync with iPod to third party.

NOTE: Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be resolved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

Check if the iPod shuffle is getting recognized in Device Manager.

    i. click Startand then click run.

II. type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. Open the Device Manager window.

III. in the Device Manager search for the name of the device

  • Working with Muse-file on the server to the network of the Office?

My process of working with Muse is generally: first copy the folder of the whole project (Synology) NAS - on my desktop and then open the project.muse file. When I finished my work, all the way autour-sometimes, I forgot, not 20 more ;-).

But: sometimes I want to just correct a very little thing that takes a few seconds of work.

For this reason, and to sometimes work with macbook out of office, I just want to know:

It is advisable to work with Muse directly from (NAS) file server? All data maintained there and only doubleclick the Musefle?

So I'm already working with InDesign for years - also to avoid duplication.

Not sure if it's a good idea with Muse too.

    Thanks for your replies

    Hi HerrHase,

It is always better to work on a file from local disk Muse. If your current workflow is correct.

If you try to open the file of the Muse of SIN and to work with it directly, you run the risk of ending up with a corrupted file, if there is no blip in communication networks during the recording of the file.

So to get the file locally before working, gives you a sure-fire way to work with the Muse project. Moreover, or even not at all your local file is corrupted in the course except for some strange reason, you can always get the latest version from the server registered.

    Kind regards

  • iPod Shuffle 2 g does not not with 10.11

I have an iMac with the latest Mac os 10.11.4, 2007 and my Shuffle is now working with her: does not appear in iTunes. In "System information" it is shown as an iPod connected to usb without additional information (such as the ability), bright yellow on it flashes all the time during this is connected. BTW cool shuffle normally and unplug after time music (which was uploaded a long time ago). the iMac USB ports work fine with iPhones, etc, so the problem isn't here.

So, it can look like something is broken in the iPod, BUT the strange thing is that it works perfectly (synchronization, load, indication) with an old laptop with Windows XP and older version of iTunes, so I suspect that Apple decided not to support this old device in its newest operating system.

All the world is facing a situation like this?

the bright yellow on it flashes all the time during this is connected.

Ok.  Blinking light means 'do not disconnect' - eject before disconnecting shuffle.  This means that there is a connection of data between Mac and shuffle.  And it loads expected normally while the indicator light is flashing.  Do you see the "disk" to the iPod icon in a window on the Mac desktop or the Finder?  IF do you, do a right click and Eject it.  The shuffle light becomes solid (not flashing), Green if the battery is completely charged, amber if still in charge.  Full light means "OK to disconnect".

In case you are new to iTunes 12, the iPod is displayed as a button on the device on the horizontal bar that runs through the window iTunes.  See screenshot below from my iTunes (on top left) with touch devicewindow, circled in red my shuffle.

You don't see the button of the device in iTunes shuffle when shuffle is connected and the light flashes?  If you do not, some things (separated) to check and try...

-You use the USB long docking cable (with the shuffle docking station) provided with 2nd gen shuffle?  The short ultra USB host cable to shuffle 3rd and 4th generation does not work with 2nd gen shuffle.  The connector is different.

-Shut down (power off) your Mac and disconnect all the USB devices.  You can leave standard keyboard/mouse USB connected, if used.  If it's a MacBook, plug its AC adapter so that it does not work on battery power.  Set the switch of the shuffle to the OFF position.  Start the Mac, launch iTunes and connect shuffle to a USB direct on the Mac, by himself.  Is there a difference?

-Run the disk utility.  Drive of the shuffle will appear in the disk utility sidebar?  (Do not do anything to scramble in utility disk at this time).

-There is a special utility just to shuffle 1st and 2nd generation.  It is used when the shuffle has a connected data (flashing), but he does not appear in iTunes.  It's the equivalent of a restore in iTunes, when doing a Restore in iTunes is not possible.  Try to install and run this utility

  • How can I make it work with just an Apple TV, AirPort Express and iPod/iPad/iPhone?

Hello people of Apple, I have some questions about a new "setup" of Apple products that I hope I can get to work between them. In other words, I need to know if what I am wanting to do in fact is possible with this new configuration.

    Current set up:

    • mini iMac (a former member of 2010, but fully updated for OSX El Capitan)
    • drive external HARD as the Time Capsule disk and with tons of music not purchased through the iTunes store (from my CD collection)
    • Old Airport Express connected to the modem (which received the fiber of my ISP)
    • 3rd Gen iPad
    • iPhone 6 more (work phone)
    • iPod Classic 5th Gen with close to 30 GB of my library and plugged on my car stereo to
    • iPod Shuffle 4th Gen for gym

I want my setup to be:

    • Apple TV
    • Airport Extreme with external HARD disk * even from above * (my library backup iTunes music around, videos and photos) connected via USB
    • iPad Pro
    • iPhone 6 Plus
    • iPod Classic 5th Gen that I want to stay plugged into my car stereo to
    • iPod Shuffle 4th Gen for gym

So my questions are: can I continue to sync my iPod Classic and my iPod Shuffle without a computer (I guess maybe not), and if so, HOW? I'll be able to sync the iPad and iPhone via wifi without computer as well? Also, I'll be able to play my library directly from the drive external HARD using the Apple TV?

I'm guessing / hoping that the new Apple TV from the music/iTunes app and the pictures/iPhoto app, I can connect my iPod to the airport and synchronize them via the app AND connect Apple TV directly on the HARD disk via the airport. And perhaps also to synchronize the iPad and the iPhone on wifi in all Apple TV apps or something or maybe I just need any Uploader in iCloud and will not even need the HARD drive more except as a backup. Help!

You have need of computer-Mac or PC. You can sync the iPhone/iPad wireless, but only via a computer in iTunes, I'm not sure about the capacity of wifi iPod.  Not to mention the iTunes, the software is required to manage the devices and media.  Important note: you must always back up your purchases - just because you buy a book, movie, TV show, song today does not necessarily mean that the media will be available from Apple servers for eternity.  The Studios retain rights and may, at any time, sign an exclusive agreement with a network, streaming provider etc which would then remove this file to be available on Apple servers.  You must download and save purchases - that would need a computer running iTunes software. You could buy storage for all your media, but then additional personal iCloud yet you would need a computer to manage. In addition, with respect to the Apple TV, you cannot connect all readers.  The USB port is only for the restaurant and full-service.  The Apple TV is a streaming device, but for the local media, he uses homeshare, which requires a computer iTunes rather than be connected directly to a storage device.  Although there are other applications like plex or infusion but they would require a NAS configuration rather than the HARD disk, and you would want / need a computer to manage the NAS server...

the only thing you want to eliminate is the only thing that is required for all...

  • iPod shuffle 2nd generation will not be a link with itunes

I just brought a used ipod shuffle 2nd generation and I can't seem to associate with my itunes account dosnt see toward the top in the list of devices? It binds with laptop and with the car but can't put mt on her music and her full load of expensive! and bon Jovi show!

any advice will be welcome tried alternative lead? Potty

Cheap and good jovi...  That IS indeed a serious problem.    But at least the iPod still plays music, so its battery is OK.

You use the USB cable supplied with 2nd gen iPod?  It is long with a cradle at the end of the shuffle.  The replacement of home cable shuffle Apple sells currently is to shuffle 3rd and 4th generation and does not work with 2nd gen shuffle (connector is different).

There are third party replacement cables, but they must be described as 2nd gen shuffle.  And they tend to be cheap and of poor quality, then this might be the problem here.

If you have the right type of cable, when you connect it to the USB of your computer, look at the little light the shuffle.  Blink initially when it is connected?  It turn on, but remain solid (not flashing)?  There is No light at all when connected?

Also, are you using a Mac or a Windows PC?  If Windows, which free?

If it is a 3rd or 4th gen shuffle, check the setting to manually manage music.  Select shuffle in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show his summary of the settings screen in the iTunes window.  To the right is the place to manually manage music currently checked or not checked?  If it is checked, the shuffle configured to load songs manually, so by clicking Sync button does 'sync' the shuffle, but some songs will be synchronized.  If you want to use the Auto-Sync for music...

In the sidebar, under settings, click on music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.  Check the box to Sync music.  This enables automatic synchronization.

NOTE: All the songs on the shuffle that are not on your iTunes library with being lost.

Below, if your library iTunes music is really small and fits on the shuffle, you can choose the option synchronize entire music library.  Otherwise, choose the option synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Make your choice from the lists below.  For example, you can create and maintain playlists (one or more) in your iTunes library, with songs that you want on the shuffle.  On the settings screen of music from iPod, under playlists, select playlists.  Click Apply to sync your music library, or the selected part to the shuffle.  Further, iTunes automatically keeps your shuffle 'in phase' with your iTunes library, or the selected part of it, when you connect (or click on the sync button if already connected).

OR, you can leave the value manually manage musicand use the auto-fill feature.  With my shuffle, I use Autofill to load a random selection of songs to a "Favorites" playlist (it is much larger than the capacity of the shuffle), whenever I connect to load.  AutoFill is not Automatic sync.  For more information about the AutoComplete feature, please post back.

  • Hai, my ipod shuffle when it is connected with the computer, it flashes organge light.  If I don't take no light

Hai, my ipod shuffle when it is connected with the computer, it flashes orange light.  If I remove without light and music.  Even I kept connected all day with my laptop for charging.  But without success.  Is it possible to change the battery?

If the shuffle still appears in iTunes when you connect, you can try to do a restore using iTunes, where the cause is a software problem.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod settings - Apple Support

If the problem reoccurs after the restoration, it's probably a battery worn.  Need soldering skills to replace yourself, and iPod shuffle (with the exception of the 1st generation) is very small.  Not easy to work on.  This web site has repair guides

    https://www.iFixit.com/device/iPod_Shuffle

and parts are available from sources like eBay.

Apple 'serve' the shuffle, if it's the 4th gen (current type).  Rather than change the battery of your device, you get a replacement unit.  According to this document, out-of-warranty fees are $39

Pricing of the Service - The Apple iPod Support

NOTE: If your shuffle is less than one year of the date of purchase, it is under warranty.

The retail price of a brand new 4th gen iPod shuffle, with new headphones, docking cable and warranty of one year is $ 49.

IPod Nano 6th generation works with El Capitan?

I can't seem to connect to iTunes 12 to download music?

My nano gen 5 works.  And my iPod 3rd gen since about 2003 "classic" works with the latest OS X and iTunes.

If you did not for a long time, remember to close the Mac (power off) and start it again.  iTunes has some background processes that identify when an iPod is connected, and they may stop working properly if the Mac worked without reboot for awhile.  Also, if you can, try to use another USB cable, where one of the uses has become defective.

Look at the screen of the iPod when you connect it?  What did he say or do, just after the connection (if any)?
