Timestamp and barcode in a .xls spreadsheet

Hello, I'm pretty new to programming in Labview and I have a few questions that I must have worked. I use a 'Prompt for user input"asking for a code bar units if there is a failure. When the message invites I so the user scan a barcode and it must be sent in a .xls file. Numbers go in the .xls file but I use bar codes have dashes (-) in them, and when these bar codes get swept Labview sends a zero in the worksheet. If I send manually numbers they will write to the spreadsheet. I also need a time stamp of when the barcode was scanned to get written to the worksheet as well.  Any suggestions?

Looks like you should show the entrance to warn the user as a string instead of a digital if you want to keep the dashes. Use a function to get a string of Date/time with the command prompt.

  • Timestamps and measurement file express VIs

    Hello

I want to do something simple: record crossing of a few channels of scalar data for a measure that could take several hours. I want to record the data inside the loop so that no data will be lost if something breaks down.

I ended up using the express VI "Write to a file as", writes a file LVM. (The test code is attached). After many tests, I came to the conclusion that I must address both the "Start Timestamp" and "Timestamp" attributes after converting my scalars to Dynamic Data. Looking at the LVM file in a text editor, I think that everything in logical present at this level.

However, when I read the data comes back with 'Reading a file measure' and post it on a waveform graph, my starting timestamp is correct, but the time displayed is 2 x too long. But if I choose the option relative timestamps in the configuration of express VI 'Read the file of measure', the time displayed is correct. ??? Of course, I want to display the absolute timestamps...

Is this a bug or I'm just something wrong? Is there a simpler way to do what I want? It was supposed to be ambivalent...

All my code is attached. I'm using LabVIEW 2015 SP1 running on Windows 7 / 32.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • How to compare the different timestamps and check that one is greater.

    Hi guys,.

I have a small question about datetime.

I have the following data in a table to the timestamp format.

    01:00:00.000
    19/05/2009

    01:00:00.000
    22/05/2009

    01:00:00.000
    23/05/2009

What I want to do is to check the date is higher, then the other.  Simply, my question is how to make comparison between dates, especially when they are in the form of time stamp

Secondly, I would like to ask if I have a timestamp which has the following values

    01:00:00.000
    22/05/2009

How can I convert in seconds?

    Thank you

You can create an array of timestamps and min/max table compares sets of stamps.

Use the double conversion for seconds since...

  • How to apply the timestamp and the whole barrel distortion correction?

Hi guys! My first time ask your question here and I hope to have your advice on this challenge edition. Right now I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and FastStone Image viewer to make an image and video editing. I use GoPro Hero HD 3 cam to take pictures at certain intervals of time, and then then combine in a timelapse video. Capture settings are 7mp to average angle. I know that the GoPro take pictures at 12 mp W, but as you know the GoPro is infamous for barrel distortion, so with higher settings, it's even worse.

I'm loaded with fixed barrel and adding timestamp feature distortion on my timelapse videos. I used FastStone Image viewer to add timestamp or first CS6 to distortion correction. However, I was unable to do both at the same time. Now, I know that the CS6 has a kind of timecode function that allows timestamp to shown, however my timestamp time data must be extracted the original meta data, while the functionality of timecode CS6 shows just the total length of the video, not the original date and time when the data has been captured. Using the FastStone allows me to show a real progression of time on entering data from beginning to end (I work the JPEG images in this case).

Now because FastStone extract the timestamp of original image data and displays them in the text label format, when I tried to apply the lens correction on CS6, it would also distort the text label itself. I tried the other too, where I corrected barrel distortion in CS6 then imported the images to FastStone, but then I would lose the metadata of origin (the date and time of capture), FastStone is then compelled to work with date and time. Now usually I work with anywhere from 1000 to 3000 images and FastStone allows timestamping to add to the batch conversion. It also has this function to change hour date desired or specific to a time, however, this cannot be done in a batch, but rather on the image or the image and therefore is not very practical when working with thousands of images.

So my question is if there is a way I can combine distortion barrel and timestamp (which uses capture data)? Thank you guys.

Do two sequences, one without the stamp and corrected the lens distortion. The other with the timestamp and apply just cropping effect let numbers, overlay on a sequence. If it's the white numbers you might also add a key to Luna to clean.

  • PDM with timestamp and different design tab

    Hi all

I would like to ask how I can get readings from two sensors of tension and save them in the .tdms format. However, these readings will be continuous and long, I need a file .tdms for daily management purposes. I would like once again to management purposes were reading for each hour of the day in separate tabs.

In addition, if convenient, I would date/time next to each reading (total three columns - 1. 2 time.) 1 sensor # 3. Probe No. 3).

I know that partial solutions to this problem are everywhere, but I'm not as competent in LabVIEW to gather this information. If you could help me I would be very happy!

    Thanks in advance!

Different "tabs" in a TDMS files are for different groups (I assume you are using the Excel TDM plugin).  So all of the hours you need start writing to a different group.

In order to obtain a data column for time, just write data in time as well as your other data.  I do not remember if you can write a value of timestamp for a channel, but at the very least, you can write a double for seconds.

However, I would recommend writing waveforms or a time value and dt beginning as properties of each channel or group.  Time data can be calculated easily later and would really just be wasting space in your file.

  • How to incorporate the timestamp and file name automatically select and save the file dialog?

    Hello

I try to incorporate the name of the file that is the registration of the end user with the timestamp in the selected and save file dialog box. Can you help me?

    Thank you

    Hi Mike227,

I couldn't find a way to immediately make the bat. I guess you need to mess with ActiveX to do. I found an msdn page that could help with this.

Have you considered simply concatenating the name of the file and the time stamp with a path of the file and save the file when you create it, without inviting the user?

I bought a new computer with Windows 8 and can't understand why I can't even open such documents in Windows 7... example extensions: .docx and .xls etcI

.docx and doc are Microsoft Word files. xls files are Microsoft Excel files.
The reason why you can not open them is probably that you don't have Microsoft Office or any compatible application installed.

Despite what you think apparently, Windows 8, nor any other version of Windows, has never included Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, nor any other significant application software. These programs must be purchased, either by themselves or as part of Microsoft Office.

If your old computer, running Windows 7, came up with one or more of them, it was because the seller who sold delivered as part of the package he has sold, not because this version of Windows came with it. Sellers of some, but not all, do the same with Windows 8 computers (but if they do, it is very likely that a trial version).

  • TIMESTAMP and TIMESTAMP WITH TIMEZONE

Pretty simple scenario. A table with 2 columns, without constraints. Column of TS is the TIMESTAMP data type. Column TS_TZ is the TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE data type. Accuracy for both is 4. I'm studying explicit data type conversions. In order to enhance my understanding, I'm experimenting with the insertion of string literals:

    INSERT INTO TEST_DATA_TYPES (ts, ts_tz)

    VALUES (19-SEPT-14 02:24:14 ', 19-SEP-14 02:24:14 ');

The attempt above raise 01840. 00000 - 'entry not long enough for the date format value.

    INSERT INTO TEST_DATA_TYPES (ts, ts_tz)

    VALUES (19-SEPT-14 02:24:14 ', 19-SEP-14 02:24:14 ');

    INSERT INTO TEST_DATA_TYPES (ts, ts_tz)

    VALUES (19-SEPT-14 02:24:14 ', 19-SEP-14 02:24:14.0');

Two inserts above work. Note that I changed was the chain of ts_tz. In one, I added 'AM' and in others I added a fraction of a second. He was the first attempt fail because Oracle needs some sort of explicit indication where precision ends before the name of the region can be added?

It is very important to understand that you should not use a string where other data type (for example, a TIMESTAMP) is expected; She simply asked in trouble.  Even if make you it work properly today, you can do something next week, as apply a patch, that will not not have to work.  Use the conversion functions explicitly, like TO_TIMESTAMP, iwhen, you must.  Never rely on implicit conversions.

Learn exactly why a given implicit conversion may not be a good way to invest your time.

  • Excel2010 and Essbase 6.5.1 spreadsheet AddIn

    Hello together,

We have a few small applications Essbase with Essbase version 6.5.1 and on the client side, we are working with windows xp and office 2002 (xp).
At the end of this year our windows and office will be changed to windows 7 and office 2010. So I question whether the Essbase excel addin spreadsheet will work with office 2010.

We don t be able to migrate the applications to our Essbase 11.1.1.3 environment, so I need to know if the old version works with the new windows and office.

Thank you very much in advance for any help.

    Martin

Why don't test you the upgrade of the complement for a more recent version that is supported with windows 7 and excel 2010, the add-in must be backward compatible.

    See you soon

  • The timestamp and timestamp line follow the same rule of comparison?

    Hi all

Maybe the topic is confusing. My question is if A timestamp is later than B, to_char (A) must be greater than to_char (B)?

Before I never used the string to timestamp or date, so I've not thought about it.

After some tests, I can't find any exception. But I want to get the confirmation from you.

    Thank you very much.
    Leon

    Hi, Leon,

    user12064076 wrote:
    Thank you, all.

Your answers are useful. I'm sorry that I does not specify the mask of format here. The format looks at 2010-12-11 00:00:00
and all the time stamp follow this format.

    The output looks like in ' 2010-12-11 00:00:00 '.»
The format specifier is "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS"? If so, the chain is suitable for use in an ORDER BY clause, or a comparison of inequality, but it is always best to use the original TIMESTAMP column where possible.

In this case, are time and the time range the same thing?

No.; expressions of different types of data are never the same. No TIMESTAMP is the same as any string. No chain is identical to any TIMESTAMP.
Oracle allows you to compare the expressions of different types of data, but it's never a good idea. One of the expressions will be implicitly converted to the other data type, not necessarily in a way you understand or simply. It is always best to call an explicit conversion function, if you must compare different types of data.

If so, I have not use to_date or to_timestamp all at once, in which case the partition size will be disabled.

You must use TO_DATE during the partitioning of a table based on a DATE column.
You must use TO_TIMESTAMP during the partitioning of a table based on a TIMESTAMP column.

It would be useful that you have published the specific code examples.

  • Exporting files with wrong timestamp and bad "update" folder

My system is running Windows 7. CC in Lightroom to 2015.

Yesterday, while working in Lightroom, we have experienced an unexpected failure. (My dog hit the switch! Don't laugh!)

When the system rebooted, everything seemed normal with the exception that the 'Clarity' legend was missing in the develop module. The cursor worked as expected however.

Today I have been using Lightroom without any apparent problem until I exported some images for my external storage. I discovered that time 'Date modified' case files have been exported and the files themselves showed the "Date modified" as on 01/01/2000.

When I import files in Lightroom, it identifies the file date and time correctly and is important to the good year/month/day.

    The system clock is correct.

. Any suggestions would be welcome!

    Bob.

    Hi loutses,.

Indeed, I think it's more of a NAS Trier management as LR question, incidentally, you can try to disconnect the disk completely and then plug it in again.

Also try one last thing, the images that you exported to desktop, now move them to SIN and then see if the sort order.

  • Barcode Excel and read the data

    Hello

I'm creating a program where I would like to scan a barcode in LV and there LV scan a spreadsheet excel for this barcode and returns the data in this row. I found an example online that allows the discovery of bar code number in excel, but I'm not coming with a strange issue when you try to view the information in this row. My program is the correct barcode in all cases. Only when I get the number of rank 1 line information will be correct. When I enter the information in row 2 lets say it shows the information of line 3. When I enter the tier 3 program line 5 information display. Attached is my draft of the code (this is my first stab at ActiveX control so bear with it please) and a worksheet example I created with some information on how the program works. I have checked the other posts for similar problems and could not find one this hepls with my particular issue. I also checked the thread specific excel but found no link to the code that can help. Any help is appreciated. IM thinking that I'm more looking for something, but since this is my first shot at this type of programming im not very well what it is. Thanks in advance for any information.

    NYC says:

The other thread is not VI or Excel.

I'm curious to know what is happening in the VI, but I can't open it.

It's the same question, except that this time the OP has provided a follow-up saying: ' OK, here's what I got, and it does. ' " Why? "I would have just kept in this thread. No matter what.

In any case your mistake is that you don't want to connect the line found on all of the methods of Range.Item (get). You must connect a constant of 1 for 'Row' parameters for these two. As you operate on a found range, you don't want to change the line.

As it is now your VI does not close Excel when finished. The Excel process continues to run in the background. See the example with LabVIEW, which closes Excel when finished.
