TM2T-1000: winload.exe

Hello;

I bought media from HP recovery disks for my laptop.

When I restart on the first DvD, I get "\windows\system32\boot\winload.exe".

So far, I've tried wipe the drive and install Windows 7 from a DVD from Microsoft.  In every situation, I get the same message.

  • How can I go on using the recovery media to restore my laptop?
  • Is there a way to get the same effect after starting in windows?

Two stock changes are the following:

-New memory

-New SSD

Thank you in advance!

Edit:

-A large number of other posts talk about this error after YOU apply the discs.  I get this error before applying the disks.

I downloaded and tried a boot with no joy, and of course vista recovery disk, toshiba provide a vista disk. How the hell can I recover from this situation?

    Hello!

If you are not able to get in the boot menu for HARD drive recovery, you must use a Microsoft Vista disc to reinstall the OS.
Or you use the Toshiba recovery disc but I think you forgot to burn the disk because normally you get a message (recovery point) you want to burn the disc.

However, you can order a Toshiba Toshiba recovery disc directly:

    Hello

You mean that you are not able to recover the laptop using the HDD recovery procedure?
You can begin the HARD drive by pressing F8, choose fix my computer.
Then a new window should appear and you could choose a new option called Toshiba HDD recovery.

If this is not possible then I think that you don't have a choice but to reinstall the OS using a Setup (Microsoft or Toshiba) disk.

Do a clean install of XP with the XP disk provided by Dell, if you.

If you do not have your XP disk, you can contact Dell and ask them to send you a XP disc.

I suggest you borrow the CD of windows vista to your friends

    Step 1:

I suggest you check in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

If you be able to start your computer in safe mode, I'd say make clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Hi Alan,

It would look like the HARD drive failed (the complete test often will accomplish not in this case) and it is compatible with the winload.exe error.

    Hi WillieGuyton,

    (1) since when are you facing this problem?

    (2) remember to make changes?

    (3) what is the complete error message you receive?

    (4) what is the number of brand and model of your computer?

    Method 1:

Step 1: disconnect any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...)  Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

Step 2: Follow the steps mentioned in the link below to access pre - install the system recovery tools.

How to access the System Recovery Options menu?

Run the tool to restart system as shown in the link below
    How to use Startup Repair?

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Set the first boot device in the DVD in BIOS to boot from the Windows Installation DVD. To do this, see the documentation that came with the computer.

Important: Change BIOS (Basic input output system) /semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Step 2: Follow the steps mentioned in the article below for the restoration of the Boot Configuration database (BCD) store
