It's really annoying because I have important files on this computer work and can't afford to get in shape!   I put my confidence in using windows and keep it updated.   During the installation of your updates, it made my system fails and does not restart.   I'll be very upset if this update of windows xp causes me to have to reformat and lose important files!

Any advice on a solution?   I need to get this computer work as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Ben River

I ordered the Dell XP disc and did the re-install. It works fine now. The Dell technical support had me do some updates on the web as well. I have not had problems since. What happened with the automatic updates completely wiped out my operating system. At least I don't have to buy a new computer.

If nothing else works, try reinstalling your operating system. It worked for me.

  • "Error message: Verifing DMI pool Data data ', 'Boot from CD' and Vista will not start.

Vista will not start. Yesterday I had a remote assist of a tech trade SPS who took several Java updates and installed the recommended Java version. Until I left work the day I closed my computer so that he could install the updates from Microsoft. After the updates were finished I he turned and left for the day. When I arrived this morning, I had was a black screen and 2 lines of text following: 'Verifing DMI pool data' and 'Boot from CD' and a cursor flashing beneath them. I downloaded and executed a Western Digital utility that showed no problems with the hard drive, put in on the installation disc repair service is no error. I did a system restore to a point since yesterday morning, and Vista still does not start. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hi JohnHorky,

    Step 1:

First check and make sure that all physical connections on the computer are correct.

    Step 2:

Alternatively, you can try to run a Checkdisk and check.

    a. Insert the installation disc.

    b. restart your computer.

    c. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt

    f. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER

    Chkdsk /f /r X: (drive letter)

Note: When you run the checkdisk, there are risks of data loss you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

    g. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    h. close all applications and restart the computer.

Note: When you run the disk check, there are chances of losing data if you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

    Step 3:

Check if the automatic hard drive in the BIOS (Basic Input/output System) is enabled and save settings and check if it works. If it doesn't, contact the manufacturer of the system for more support options.

I also suggest that you install the latest update of the basic system of input/output (BIOS) on the computer by contacting the manufacturer of the computer and check if it helps.

Important: Change to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Windows Help and Support will not start.

My brother is running windows Vista, and the application help and Support Windows will not start.  The exact wording is:

"Help and Support could not start.  For more information, contact your system administrator or visit http://windowshelp.microsoft.com"

Clicked on the link but no help at all.  A system restore would work, and if yes, what are the other effects there - he will have to reinstall all windows updates, service packs, etc.. ?

I could restore just the request of assistance?  If so, what files can I restore and where are they located?

I stick with XP.  Vista makes no sense to me and I can't find anything!

  • Upgrade RAM P105 satellite from 2 GB to 4 GB and it will not start

I am trying to upgrade my P105 poles factory PC4300 original 2 from 1 GB to two sticks of 2 GB PNY PC5300.
The new DDR2 667 Mhz ram according to the web site of Toshiba, however, with the two sticks of the new ram in place (4 GB), my computer does not start.

With the new ram in place (2 GB) stick, my computer starts very well.
With two sticks of the original ram (2X1GB) implemented my computer starts very well.
    What gives? Anyone know?

I read that this laptop supports 4 GB of ram, although only about 3 GB will be mapped for use and this is acceptable to me.
With 4 GB of ram installed, the BIOS recognizes 640 ram Base and 3 GB of memory.
Is it possible to get this computer with 2x2gb DDR2 PC5300 ram?

I am currently running Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3.
It'd be better if I installed one of the versions the PC 5300 2 GB sticks and one of the original PC 4300 sticks 1 GB?

    Tanks for all help.

    Hello

In my opinion, the laptop does not start because of the compatibility issue.

The laptop was equipped with modules PC4300.
    So why you n t using 2 x 2 GB PC4300 modules?
PC4300 DDR2 533 Mhz modules should run ok.

If you want to use a PC-5300 and a PC 4300 module, then both modules would go at the same speed as the slower module in your case 533 Mhz.

This is why they do not since I use a PC5300 and a single PC4300.

In addition, the module speed depends on the bus (FSB) front.
If the front side bus support 533 Mhz max then your module would go max to 533 Mhz even if the modules would support higher speed.

  • Tecra A9 - formatted and now will not start

I recently formatted my Tecra A9.
Trying to remember exactly what I did.

I used the system recovery disk, went to the Recovery Wizard. Then I had a few options, and I took the low that was to erase all data from the hard drive. It took about 12 hours.

Now, my laptop does not recognize the system, my Vista Ultimate o/s disk recovery disk or my drive of Windows XP o/s. I also can't get into the BIOS.

When I turn on the laptop I get the Toshiba screen, where, at the bottom, I see the following icons: disc, usb, CD, floppy, network. Boot order, I guess. When this screen disappears, I get a black screen saying: "insert the disk in the drive system. Press any key when ready... »

I hope somenoe could get an idea of what I can do.

    Thank you
    Kurt

Hi all. I had a very difficult time to find out who the current key was to get to the BIOS. I thought it was DEL or F5 or F8, (based on the messages that I had found in various forums, I could find nothing in the actual documentation of Toshiba). It turns out that the access key is ESC. I went, changed the boot order and am trying to install Windows 7.

  • Acer aspire 3820-7250 will no longer start. has frozen at startup, power off and now will not start.

Windows 7 operating system.  tried system restore (all the recovery tools fail), tried the battery leaving aside all night, says now "no HDD found".  What should I do? What is wrong with him?  Should I try to boot from a USB key containing a boot file?  The big question is how can I recover my important files?

Ok. Finally saved Rufus on desk, placed the iso HirensBootCD file on the desktop, used to burn it to a blank USB Rufus (by selecting the thumbdrive you want to use under "device", select "Partition for BIOS MBR scheme" for the partition scheme, select "FAT32" to the file, 64 k for "cluster size" system, then down 3 boxes must be checked.)  Make sure that you select "ISO Image" and click on the small icon next to make it burn your HirensBootCD.iso file, click Start, burn it, because of CD/HDD) then plugged the laptop thumbdrive is crushed, ensured he was set to boot from USB and good to go.  MiniXP selected and I'm now recover all my files from the HARD drive.   SO, this is the procedure to recover my data, thank God, but what is the solution permanently to repair the laptop?  He needs to have a new operating system installed?
