• Duplication of a lot of topics for translation

  Hello!

  I currently have a collection of about 500 topics that I need to translate. I wrote these topics in RoboHelp and want to keep the two languages in the same project. My idea was to create 2 subfolders (1 English, 1 for the French), containing the same set of topics. Then I would just go to the French folder, change the language settings, translate my subjects, and that is! I would like to do it this way because my 500 subjects are just the beginning of my project. I want to translate them piecemeal, rather than wait until the project is completed and then translate all. My problem is that RH won't let me copy and paste in my subfolder French subjects. I also tried to import them, but it has not as well.

  If you click right a subject in the project manager, there will be a double subject option. In some versions it does not work too well, and you didn't say what version you use. Please start threads with this information.

  Once you have created the headings, you can drag and drop them in any files you want. Sorry, but it's a one task.

  The other way may be to try this with a copy of your project.

  Create an English folder and organize all of your existing topics under this.

  Create a French folder and close RoboHelp.

  Using Windows Explorer copies the content of the English folder in the French case.

  Open the RoboHelp project. Right-click on the French file and select Import. You will be able to import all the topics in a folder at once.

  It's worth a try, but don't forget, you do it in a copy.

• Trying to update a "Loading" label... "while you wait for a thread

  Hello, I am new to Java and BlackBerry, so it is a double learning curve for me.  I tried searching for an answer and we have tried a number of things, but I do always get the label that I update to display.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have a main screen with a label field.  I start a thread, and that this thread works I loop and try to update the label as in the httpdemo example.  I do this in refreshMenuItem.  The code looks like she change the label, but the screen does not appear to refresh and show the update label.  Any advice?  Thank you.

  MenuItems run in the UI thread... don't sleep() in them.  I guess that's causing your problem of update to block the UI thread.  Use rather a reason for recall with a background thread making sleep if you need regular notifications to the user interface.

  Edit: On coffee/reflection, recall patterns may be overkill here... you can simply use a Timer/TimerTask.

• How can I get my RAW ready for Facebook (Thread locked and redirected by mod) photos

  I took about 500 photos of a pow - wow and I used the FIRST. I must have these photos on the Facebook/The Web soon. I used Illustrator to export in JPEG and made smaller for the web, I even tried exporting to PNG but no matter what I try, my photos are blurry!  They look so amature and it's very irritating! Can someone help me please?

  I want to change my name to "Kevin" in 'Kevin Stecyk' as the author on my reminder.

  I tried to open the Panel annotations and right mouse clicking on the Sticky Note. Unfortunately, "Kevin" is in gray and cannot be changed.

  When I create a reminder, I can right mouse click on the Sticky Note and change the name of Kevin Stecyk. However, on the next note, I'm back to just Kevin. I can even change my name and select 'Use default properties'. Yet once, once I have create a new Sticky Note, I'm back to just Kevin.

  How can I change the author for reminder (and other) property and have this change stick?

  -Go to Edit - Preferences - comments and uncheck the box that says "Always".

  use name of log-in for the name of the author.

  -Restart Acrobat.

  -Create a new comment, edit and set it as the new default value.

• Bad NetStatusEvent codes for player of multicast

  I created a simple player of multicast using actinscript 3 which works very well and plays well the multicast stream. Although when the stream must fail. Or even if I stop Flash Media server returns success codes: "NetConnection.Connect.Success", "NetStream.Connect.Success" and "NetStream.Play.Start". I can't detect it when the multicast stream fails in flash player. I need to switch to unicast streams if multicasting goes down and I can't detect a failure due to the poor condition.

  Why I'm getting bad state?

  "NetStream.MulticastStream.Reset" is not in the version of FMS. In addition, "NetStream.MulticastStream.Reset" event is dispatched if the Publisher for this named instance of the stream stops, game client resets to another instance of the named stream.

  In your case if you are able to playback of the stream, you will certainly "NetStream.Buffer.Full" before the start of playback. If you do not receive this event, playback does not start.

• How to build a shortcut to a topic for distribution?

  I find that if I 'copy shortcut' topic in the browser (IE), the shortcut resulting looks like this:

  When I then use this URL on our intranet, it finds the correct topic, but the window is not correct. More specifically, it is using the correct skin but it displays the buttons in the toolbar that are NOT selected in the properties of the window. For example, I did not "Glossary" selected, but it still gives me the key glassary.

  However if the help system is opened via the standard URL that opens the first topic, the window is configured correctly and I guess that this is because the string that opens the help system includes the name of the window.

  Is it possible to insert the name of the window in a copied topic shortcut so that if a user enters a subject directly (without having to open the help file by using the standard URL) they will see the correctly confugured toolbar?

  I found a way to do this. As far as I know, it is not documented.

  1. In RH10, access the output published via file > view > main Layout of the server.
  2. In the browser, enter the URL of the displayed output.
  3. In a text editor, edit the page *.htm target landing page default to the page you want to link. Be sure to include a subfolder containing if the page is not sitting at the level of the root of the project.
  4. Save and distribute the modified URL.

  The URL contains a large number of escape characters and is therefore a little difficult to alter.

  So guess my question is, is I there a way out the network associated with a netstream (multicast) group?

  Or each client does a netGroup addition to the netGroup with the same groupSpecifier?

  You can make a group in network with the same groupspec you used for multicast NetStream.  the NetStream and NetGroup share the same RTMFP group at low altitude (they are handles effectively separated on the same low-level object), so it is there no extra network traffic is associated with additional NetStream/NetGroup objects for the same groupspec in the same NetConnection.

  I have an Inspiron 2350 with Win 8.1.I have had problems with the foregoing and became a system Thread Unhandled Exception. I ran the ePSA tests and all passed.

  I updated the machine to win 8 (not easy with a machine that crashes all the time!) But the accidents have persisted. Finally, I turned off acceleration using Intel RST and the accidents stopped.

  I upgraded to 8.1 (after jumping through hoops) and everything seems good.

  My question is, how does RST interact with Windows? If I turn acceleration and crashes again, I would be able to solve this problem in just turned off, or it could break things again?

  In addition, ideas how the DSS can go support him test but fails the system?

  Hi Gordie08,

  Looks like you have a SATA driver or incompatible or older chipset that causes the problem. You should be able to solve this problem by updating the appropriate drivers. I'll start with the chipset driver (check Dell downloads) and then update the Intel RST (get from Intel) application.

• Help topic for air navigation links broken

  I have saved this as a bug, but I was wondering if anyone has experience this problem.

  When generating the "Air support and browser based help" output format (and download the files from the browser to the server web and AirHelp application installation), the navigation links that appear above the window under the buttons of navigation/search bar and assistance are broken. The following example illustrates the uni-volet model, but the problem occurs with all models.

  By clicking on the link of the first or the second heading (in the area surrounded by a red circle), it shows "the page cannot be found" and the navigation links themselves disappear.

  

  I noticed that the problem only exists when the subjects in the project manager are organized in subfolders. If all the subjects in the project manager are in the top-level folder, the links navigate correctly. In addition, the links aren't clickable in online mode, in local mode. I was unable to disable all navigation links, or make it not clickable in mode online.

  I am running RH9, Windows 7 (64-bit).

  Any help would be appreciated.

  It seems that the response should not generate help AIR browser based for the item online.

  I generated webhelp ensuring instead that has unchecked the option display navigation links. With making bread everything worked well in both the online and offline help. The user opens the help and if a connection is available aid uses by default in the view online content, which is local. Without a connection, or when the user chooses to go in offline mode, they remain in the view, but with local content.

  I was wondering if there was no way to have some subjects not build for the pdf review process. I can't seem to find all the options about this and I was wondering if anyone knew a way to do it.
  
  I try using conditional tags but am not have a little chance of the pdf with this release.

  Hello

  To my knowledge, the PDF output uses the same conditional construction method using other outputs. Then you should be able to mark unwanted subjects, then generate the PDF file by specifying a conditional build expression that excludes marked information.

• Why every new page I do suddenly appear in a website has become a popup? It's something new and a major PITA!

  It was that, when I clicked on a link in a Web page, a new page opens. Now, since the last update, nothing happens... THEN I see at the top of the page that Firefox has blocked a "popup". But these aren't popups, they asked new pages! To see them, I now allow all popups on almost all sites, which totally destroyed the value of the trainer because it allows pop up windows!

  I appreciate your efforts to protect us, but in fixing things that were not broken, you broke them.

  So please tell me how I can substitute your hotfixes without having to deal with 'em, whenever I click on a link in a Web site!

  (You also made it almost impossible to use any program that requires Java, but that's a topic for another thread!)

  Normally, the Blocker allows the actions triggered by the user. Certainly if you click on a link, it should not be blocked, unless there is something very strange about the link (for example, it is not a normal link but runs a very unusual script).

  Is it possible that you have installed an extension that changes how popup works block - or who joined popups to links? You can review and configure, disable, or remove extensions here:

  Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

  Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  Alternately, you could test mode without failure of Firefox. It is a standard diagnostic tool in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

• Satellite A660 Factory Restore problems

  I have a Satellite A660 Ref. PSAW3A-14V062 delivered pre-installed with Win 7 not provided, but a hidden partition with disk recovery files.

  Decided to do a restore to factory from scratch but ends of disk errors. Removed the HD and connected to another computer.

  Using Acronis Disk Director, I copied the hidden partition (HDDRECOVERY) to another drive and then formatted the drive and copied the partition hidden in it and reinstalled to the laptop.
  Downloaded an ISO image and tried to install it from DVD but received the message that windows cannot be installed on the HARD disk that the drive is about to fail.

  Bought new HARD drive and copied the partition hidden for her.
  I then tried to install from the DVD, but kept getting errors about unable to find files, after ISO more several downloads and burn 5 different DVD the furthest I got was the screen where it is "files", this remains at 0% and nothing else.

  I then tried a factory restore using the "hold 0 during startup", but when I took out the key pressed 0 when the Toshiba start screen showed that nothing happened.

  There was a small Partition 'System' on the original HARD drive I have has not copied. I have a few questions.

  (1) the "System" partition did not the files needed to start the factory restore and if so is there anywhere I can download these files?

  (2) probably a topic for another thread, but no clue as to why I have so many problems with ISO files.

  The installation of any recovery is quite complicated. It is designed to avoid a kind of manipulation so original recovery image can be installed either using recovery DVDs or HARD disk recovery facility which must be created with Toshiba recovery disc creator tool.

  If I understand you right, you have created a drive recovery, right? What exactly happens?
  You can use this drive with new HARD drive?

  This method with files recovery to cope with the new HARD drive does not work. You will not be able to access and begin HARD recovery disk image installation.

  If you have a new HDD only how to install the original Toshiba recovery image is to use the recovery DVD disc.
