Torch Smartphone blackBerry tour market constantly!

Hello, I got my Blackberry torch for less than 24 hours, and I'm already having problems. It was working fine until I had synced the music on it from my pc. When I unplugged, it flashed red and the light turned off, then restarted. Problem is, it will restart and then switch on and check the security software, it stays on for about 7 seconds, then the LED flashes again, stops, restarts, and done all this over and over again without interruption. However, when I connect it to the computer in a few seconds, it's actually the, it seems to work very well and I don't have this problem at all. It restarts as soon as I doing the USB.

HELP PLEASE! This has certainly taken the brightness to get a new Blackberry.

Siobhan.

Oh and I did a battery pull & it has not made a difference & the phone is charged at 100%.

Yes, I suspect that something is wrong.

Have you moved this from another BlackBerry Media card, an older device of the 9800? If so, see below.

If not, can you tell me anything else? Have you formatted this card while in the BlackBerry, I would say that if you can, and don't be afraid to lose all the files on the card.

Read this on how to correct the media card (courtesy of John Clark, a different expertise here in the Forum):

1. remove the card multimedia unit and put it in a card reader. This makes the rest of the process much faster. However, you can do it with the card in the camera.

2 copy all the contents of the card on your PC.

3. replace the card in the camera and go to Options > Media Card > Menu button > card. You wipe the card and reformat. (if using a card reader to remove the card and put it back in the drive).

4. now copy backup ONLY in the media to the device. Don't copy back all the 'BBthumbs.dat' files or all system files. I went through the entire folder and delete all .dat files before copying the content of the music folder and the folders of photos to the device. The device will re-create these files. Also, I is not copy folder "current music" but rather just copied content and pasted into the folder \Blackberry\music of the card. Do this for each folder.

5. Once finished put the card in the camera, and then try again the media App. He must walk to the music. If you have a lot of music can take 5-10 minutes. When scanning, you can open the music application and you should be able to see the songs move in the list when the device will navigate

If after the transfer of all your files back, you still get a stuck scanning bar or device restarts so you have a file in conflict on the map. I saw video files to do this, but it could be a music file too or (less likely) an image file. Remove all the files you transferred and see if restarting to stop him. Then add each file one at a time to see if you can narrow the file which is the cause. When you have found the folder, and then you can refine to a particular file.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Tour Sprint and Verizon storm.

The Blackberry Tour Sprint comes with a SIM card,

Can I use this on a Blackberry Storm from Verizon SIM card?

    How would this work?

    Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

First, you must get your Storm unlocked by VZW - all phones are locked initially to a carrier, regardless of the SIM card. To use it on another medium, you must get the first carrier to provide you with the unlock code.

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/How_do_I_unlock_my_BlackBerry%3F

Then, you must be sure that the storm has a radio that is compatible with the Sprint network... I have no idea. You will need to check with Sprint to what is their network and then check the specifications of the storm to be sure it is compatible:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/devices/BlackBerryStorm/storm_specifications.jsp

If two of these things first unfold like OK, then you should indeed be able to put your SIM Sprint in your storm and use it on the Sprint network.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Tour and SD card

I am interested in upgrading to the Blackberry Tour 9630 when it comes out, but I wonder if the Non-camera version has a slot for SD cards or if it's just the version of the camera?  The SD card can hold office documents you type using a version of Documents or the dynoplex eoffice weather to go.

    DJ

Thank you!  The reason why I was asking was because the info currently in view indicates that a Micro SD card comes pre-installed only with the version with a camera but it isn't one that comes pre-installed with the version without a camera.

  • RESOLVED to blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Tour 9630 - contact sync issues - ends unexpectedly

EDIT: Solved with the long workaround.  Door data Palm to Contacts from Yahoo and then exported to Windows Contacts using batch individual VCF files.  Cleared of all contacts in the Tower, and then deleted the Intellisync folder under user-> RIM-> Roaming-> Intellisync.    Tried to sync and finally success!

New Blackberry user striving for admission to the Crackberry status.  Try to get data on a Palm Desktop Manager to the tower.  I exported the calendar and the Contacts from Yahoo Calendar and then tried a synchronization on the device.  Calendar has worked well and installed all the previous and future data.  Contact synchronization (which is running a way to the device even though at this point, I tried all variants) gets to the 100th record of 168 and then the action "ends unexpectedly".  I cleaned the contacts and even removed the contact he seemed to arrive in the bombardment then.

EDIT: Tried to add an event for tomorrow for the calendar and he finished to the point even the Contacts synchronization.   It's the 100th calendar entry then terminated.

I use Desktop Manager V5 with Media Manager.

    BlackBerry Tour 9630 v 4.7.1.40.

OS - service packs current of Vista (32 bit)

    Other things I did:

-Change of email vs. Facebook CICAL

-Delete the Intellisync folder by another suggestion post, restarted and tried again

-Tried to export contacts in CSV data, but there was an error in this way as well (error 0)

Any other suggestions?  As the device, but it really was an important reason to upgrade because I'm consolidating devices that carry the contacts, calendars, and memos.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I was the OP and the solution provider, but I could never find a Solution button on my post then I edited it myself.  Yay for me and I will mark it resolved.  Thank you!

  • Smartphones Blackberry Tour Facebook blackBerry problem with confirming 'friend requests '.

Until yesterday, my Facebook app worked perfectly on my Blackberry Tour.  Since yesterday, I get an error when I try to 'confirm' a 'friend request '.  I took my battery and restarted, but the problem persists.  All advice is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Probable server problems, not a problem with your FB app or device.

  • Torch Smartphone blackBerry Bold questions

Hi, I picked up a BB Bold 9900 after having a nightmare of a week with my BB Torch that I had been used for more than a year.  I have the following problems with my two phones:

    Phone NEW-BB Bold 9900:

Despite transfer all my contacts from the torch to the "BOLD", many contacts are missing from my contacts list in the "BOLD".  Why is this?  These are still visible in my flashlight.  Therefore, it is absolutely useless for me to buy a BB if it is even impossible to recover my entire contact list.  Quite frustrating!

FORMER telephone - BB Torch 9800:

    (1) touch screen, red touchbutton and keyboard are dysfunctional.

    (2) in spite of the withdrawal of the SIM card, the 'search box' on the home page seems to be hitting hlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhl... automatically WITHOUT ANY CONTRIBUTION whatsoever! (goose bumps!)

    (3) BB Desktop Software version is updated according to the update link.  Says the ad Office device using the latest version.  So not the possibility of an upgrade.

How can I solve the problems with the two above devices? Help, please!

With you your old phone, connection to BlackBerry Protect with your BlackBerry ID and do a data backup.  If you do not have BlackBerry Protect installed on your old phone, take the time now to do.  You can find Protect www.blackberry.com/protect from the browser of your phone visit BlackBerry App World.

Then, once your backup is complete, remove the battery from your old phone while it is turned on and with the SIM card still in it.  Replace the battery a few seconds later.

Now, remove your SIM card from your old phone and put in to the new.  Turn on your new phone and the connection once more to protect (the connection can be found using the link above).  He will see that you have changed phones and will ask you if you want to associate your new phone with Protect.  The answer is Yes.  When it is connected to the Protect, look for the icon Restore From A Backup File and select the backup file that you just created.  Load on your new phone, make sure he restored correctly, then you can remove your old phone of protection if you want.

It's the best way I know to deal with the situation.  Give it a try and post back with your results.

  • Torch Smartphone blackBerry gel

My torch works well until it itself blocks when I stop using it. Once it blocks it freezes and I have to remove the battery. This happens too to keep taking the battery.

    Anyone know a solution?

The first step is always to try a battery pull.  You've obviously done some of those so step two is to reload the operating system of your phone.  You do this using BlackBerry Desktop Software then click Device > restore in the software.

Let us know if that helps you.

This isn't a matter of BlackBerry, there is a problem with your operator. Your carrier represents different monthly data packets, not RIM.

You must address this issue with your carrier.

  • Smartphones blackBerry tour of compensation schedule

I want to clear my calendar of Tour and start from scratch.  In the accepted solution of SmoothRider from 31/07/2009, it describes how to clear the database by going to "Backup and Restore - Advanced" in the BB Desktop Manager, highlighted in a database, and then pressing "clear".  Have I reason to assume it would be in the same way to clear the calendar?  However, when I look at my backup and restore databases, I see two entries for the calendar: 'Calendar' and ' calendar - all. "  Which one should I remove?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

  • Smartphones blackBerry tour update

to connect a round of BB to the computer (which has been sync'ing with a curve via Blackberry Desktop Manager) transfer the contacts already "saved?" Thanks in advance! Marvin

First of all, you're talking about two different things.  You speak of "sync" and then ask questions about information that is "saved."  What were you doing exactly with your curve and what you want to do with the new Tour?

If you have simply "saved" the old curve, then you can simply restore the backup file to the new tour.  You will need to just connect the new device, go to backup/restore, click 'Restore', go in the "File" menu at the top left and select the backup file you want to restore on the new device.

If you are wanting to 'sync' of the device with Outlook or another application, then it's entirely different process.

  • Torch Smartphone blackBerry dropped in water

I never dropped my Torch 9800 before in more than 2 years I had it, but when I finally did it was in the bathroom.  I immediately took battery, sim and wiped with a soft paper towel.  Within 30 mins it I plunged into the rice.  The indicator of moisture on the phone itself is white.  There is a small tuft on the battery that is red, but since I never noticed before, I don't know if it is an indicator of moisture or what.  About 24 hrs in the rice I reassembled it and it came on well, but I had in my haste put wrong sim card. When I corrected the error and I replaced the battery it came not.  I am eligible to upgrade, but I don't really want to if I can bring the torch.  Back, he plunged into the rice.  I've had some people tell me that it could take several days.  I can buy a new battery, but if I have to buy a new phone, that seems a bit like a loss if it does not work.  I saw on a forum from crackberry.com when RIM technology recommends the guy BB got sweaty to immerse the phone in alcohol for 5 seconds and then let it dry for 3 days.  I might try this as a last resort, but I can't bring myself to try right now.  All suggestions, pep talk about being patient... who is not a virtue of mine.

The standard remedy is really the best way to go: 4-5 days in rice and nothing less. Since you haven't spent the whole time, you should get the phone and battery back into the rice. The fact that you have already turned on the phone it could negatively affect but put two batteries and phone back in can't hurt.

    Keep us informed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Manager constantly crashing

I've always avoided BDM like the plague (and by browsing the forums for a few side, it seems that I'm not the only one). Whenever I tried to run, he would always launch several other processes, such as RIMDeviceManager, RIM. Desktop.AutoUpdate, RIM. DesktopHelper and a few others with it and use more KB million and a half of my memory. My computer would become laggy and I could go with a lot of patience, but every time I would try backup/sync my BlackBerry, it would break and I have to force every process of quitting smoking.

Anyway, today I bought a new BlackBerry after owning my old one for two years and want to transfer my contacts. Unfortunately, this means that I have to use this bloated piece of software. Any way to get this program works so I can actually use it?

    Data sheet:

    Windows 7 SP1

    Intel E8400

    4 GB OF DDR2 RAM

    NVIDIA 9800 GTX +.

    BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6.1.0.35

    Out of memory.

If you look in Task Manager after you open the application, you see the memory usage goes out of control on a process?

More likely is videos.  You have a lot of videos in your folder "my videos"?  The software scan these files, and it is possible that some crazy video format could be launch Desktop for a loop.
