I was wondering if it means limiting 4-GB PER SLOT? OR TOTAL?

Hello
I ' v has my M3910 i3 540 3.07 GHz for awhile now and I'm very happy with it as a day to day PC, but for some time I get regular crashes and intend to reinstall Windows 7 from scratch. I would like a little more speed so will install SSD and more RAM (3 GB for the moment), but the specs on the RAM available on the web are confusing. I got a 8 GB compatible key available, but it froze the Acer splash screen. I want 16 GB (called max) but settle for 8GB.
Is the limit of RAM per slot 2GB, as argued in the specifications, or I can get 4 GB in each of the 4 slots? Crucial is indicating it takes 1600 RAM, but the specifications say 1333? FYI, my serial number starts: [under the direction of privacy]
Thanks in advance.
Hello
Your desktop supports up to 16 GB - DDR3 - 1333 MHz (4x4Go 64-bit OS).

Pavilion HPE h8 - 1360T: Max RAM per slot (4 locations)
I'm upgrading RAM on my 1-1/2 year old h8 - 1360t.
On the page "Product Specifications and configurable Options" (http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03425388 & DocLang = in & docLocale = en_US & jumpid =... , under Hardware Options - memory, it says "must select one of the following options:...") 16 GB (4 x 4 GB) PC3-12800 DDR3 (PC3-10600 on this system turns)' (the only 16 GB option - maxed out for WIN7 64 bit).
In addition, in the support page "HP Desktop PCs - the upgrade memory (RAM)" (generic - non-specific to any model) (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-HPE-h8-Desktop-PC-series/5258496/model/5261720/docum, under "Verification of the quantity of memory can be added to your computer model", it says "to find the amount of memory per slot, divide the maximum amount of memory that the computer can hold by the number of memory locations of the motherboard. Usually, this is the maximum amount for each type of memory. For example, if the computer is able to contain a maximum of 4096 MB (4 GB) memory and the motherboard has four memory slots, install 1 GB (or less) per slot. »
When I check the options of 'Memory' on www.crucial .com, the only 16 GB option it gives is 8GBx2. Can I do trust what is Crucial says about it (which seems to contradict what the HP options & specifications page)? I think that the answer is Yes - that HP doesn't care. and options page is just saying how it would come if I had ordered with maxed out at 16 GB RAM - but thought I would ask before ordering memory.
Thank you for responding to this.
I dug a little further on the Crucial site, and it seems that the 8GBx2 actually works:
Recommended for my computer:
And here's the review of one of the examiners:
The reason, I was a little skeptical about what the HP standard sheet said for the computer I had before this one, HP said a certain maximum size of RAM (below what the operating system should be able to manage). There was a post on the HP forums who said you could use the larger RAM size (until the operating system can manage) in this model computer. I tried and it worked fine.

Maximum memory of Thinkpad Edge 14?
I have a Thinkpad Edge 14, 0578-CTO, running under Windows 7 64-bit. Latest version of the BIOS, drivers the latest, updates, etc.
I know from the support pages that 8 GB of ram is maximum, assuming that you use two chips of 4GB.
I have however, a bench of memory which is bad, and I wonder if the computer supports a single 8 GB chip in one of the slots?
Someone has tested or can check this before I order it?
Please notify.
Hello
You're right, edge 14 supports maximum of 4 GB per slot and no more than that (max total is 8 GB). Then I suggest that you do not order the 8 GB stick and get the fixed slot in lenovo.

What is the maximum memory supporting Equium L300 - 17Q?
My laptop comes with a memory chip Samsung 1 G standard and I recently added a 2 G kingston DDR-667 to the other location. Vista recongnizes the total memory than the 3G system. My question is if this laptop supports 4G memory if I just use 2 2 G Samsung chips?
Another weird thing is that as soon as I added this new chip, Everrest indicates that dual channel has been opened! Samsung 1 G and 2 G Kingston? How these two different chips can open the channel double?
The usuer mannual says that the memory maximum expansionbility for this laptop is 2 G.
Any explanation?
Thank you!
Hello
The user manual says:
512 MB, 1 GB, or 2 GB PC2-5300 memory modules can be installed in two memory slots.
Memory PC2-5300 work as speed of PC2-4200 GL960 Express Chipset.
The system maximum memory size and speed depend on the model you purchased.2 GB of RAM supported by your model if Vista is able to perceive the 3 GB of RAM so it seems
Mobile Intel GL960 Express chipset has memory dual channel DDR2, 533 MHz system bus, so dual channel has been opened!

HP Pavilion 15-n048: maximum memory allocation for HP Pavilion 15-n048
Does anyone can tell me what is the maximum memory loss for HP Pavilion 15-n048
Officially, 12 concerts. See the owner's manual here:
See page 47. Pavilion 15 manuals are often a bit difficult to understand, does not mean that they are sometimes a bit misleading. Some models are configured with one or two memory locations, so the first thing I would do is to open the Bay of memory and see if there are 2 slots for sure. Your laptop came with a single module of 8 GB DDR3 - 1600, then the question is whether you have an open slot. If so, the specs say you can add a module of 4 GB of the same speed and type. Others have reported success with the addition of a module of 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts. Attention to the black blocks how are on the side of the module that you already have. 8 unlikely, what makes low density. Get the same module 8 GB or 4 GB.

Maximum memory of 660 Inspiron desktop PC
I picked up an Inspiron 660 of Best Buy Black Friday offer, model I660-6038BK. It comes with 12 GB of ram, Windows sees fortunately. I'm curious to know what is the maximum memory is. Oddly, everyone (Dell, Kingston) Crucial says that the 660 is limited to 8 GB. I also see 660's on Amazon.com with 16 GB of ram. I think that is the real maximum, but anyone know where there is an official response?
Well, I finally bought an essential package of 2x8GB sticks (BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00) and it looks like it works very well with 16 GB.

Maximum memory for Optiplex 380
Specifications for maximum memory in the Optiplex 380 are quite confusing. Pdf manual indicates the maximum memory is 4 GB - 4 GB module in a slot or two 2 GB modules in two locations. But I read in other places that the maximum is 8 GB - two 4 GB modules in both slots.
On another thread here, someone asked max on the Minitour Optiplex 380 memory and told me that the max memory is 8 mg. But see here that the max is given as 4 GB:
http://www.pcrush.com/product/desktop-computers/632935/Dell-OptiPlex-380-desktop-computer-Intel-Core-2-Duo-E7500-dual-core-2.93-GHz-Mini-TowerI also is not the case of the minitour and don't know if that makes a difference. I believe that what I have is called the small form factor. I'd really, really like to upgrade memory, but don't want to spend money on a memory module, I can not use.
Edit: Here are the other features of my computer:
3.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium Dual-Core
cache of 64 kilobytes main memory
secondary memory 2048 k-cached

'DIMM_2' location is emptyJust checked. You can add another 4 GB module to your system.

Maximum memory for Portege Z930 - 14L
Hello
I have a Portege Z930 - 14L with 8 GB memory and wonder what is the maximum memory I can add? I saw the following in the description, but I don't understand if this means that the maximum is 12 GB (4 GB onboard + 8 GB expansion) or 16 GB (2x8GB)
Standard system memory: 8 192 (4 069 + 4 069 onboard) MB
maximum extension: 8 192 MB
technology: DDR3 RAM (1,600 MHz)Thank you
MarkusIf I understand this right info your a Portege already maximum RAM.
Is that your laptop Portege can manage with 8 GB memory max. On board, there are already 4 GB and there is only one slot of RAM available for upgrade that also contains a 4 GB RAM module.
In other words, your laptop is already maximum RAM and upgrade is not possible. -
Maximum memory Prssario CQ56-100-ED
This product comes with 2 GB of memory on a unit of DIMMS.
The product specification is said a maximum memory capacity of 8GB.
However, the laptop has 2 slots for memory units. If I look for the available memory of DDR2 memory units to see only up to 2GB.
This means that only 4 GB can be placed. For DDR3, a batch of 4 GB DIMMS are available, but this is not correct for this laptop.
The specifications, is wrong or are there any units of 4 GB type DDR2
Hello
Your machine is running on 32-bit operating system so it can see 4 GB max. If you want to see and use more than 4 GB, you need a 64-bit operating system.
Kind regards.

Maximum RAM 2 GB http://support.Dell.com/support/eDOCS/systems/dsleest/specs.htm#memory
Note: the manufacturer was required to provide a way to reinstall Windows. If it is not a set of disks with the computer, there will be a hidden restore partition (do not be confused with the system restore), you would use to return the computer to the State of the OOBE (Out of Box Experience).
Usually, just by pressing F11 continuously during the computer startup to display a boot menu offering the option you need.
You may need to contact the manufacturer of your hardware (Dell) to see what options they have to repair Windows.

Of XC-704 &; upgrade memory expansion slot
1 expansion slot
What is the specification of expansion slot for this model we would like to add a dedicated with DisplayPort graphics card?
2 memory
How many slots does memory have on the motherboard?
What type of memory is needed?
What is the maximum memory supported by the motherboard?
OK, sorry raising model in Kingston and a few other sites did not show your computer and see that I had not seen everything I was confused. Based on what I found maybe a model from other countries.
That said, it seems that it comes with 2 gigabytes of Ram DDR3L and evolutionary 8Gig
Also, it seems that yours comes with 1 PCI Express Slot x 16. I'm not sure with the power supply and that is there if you would be able to switch to a different graphics card GPU and size of the case would impose a huge limit on what might be able to adapt...

Pavilion ze4200 maximum memory size series (ze4230) / config
Howdy,
I read that 2x512MB of PC2100 is the maximum memory configuration for my Pavilion ze4230. I also read that the other laptop manufacturers say that they support a certain amount of RAM, when in fact the laptop to recognize and to use more than 'max memory' documented.
So I was wondering if anyone has tried using one or two sticks of memory PC2100 1 GB in a ze4230, and what happened?
Thanks in advance,
David
