  I heard there was a reset function in Windows 10 but I really didn't think he would do anything. The touch screen did not work when I originally did a new install of Windows 10 so why would it now? But he did. My touch screen works well and even better, he deleted loads of disk space.

  To simply type "reset" in the search and recovery option returns to the update & security. 'Start' this PC with Reset and select this option to remove all. After about an hour or two, my computer was fully functional. The downside was having to reinstall applications and files, but is not a major concern.

  Oh!  I didn't know that.  So definitely, call the HP technical support and see if you can ask for a replacement.  They may want to do some troubleshooting first, of course.

  My partner bought a S50t-B Satellite probably 5-6 months and everything worked perfectly, until she had a few updates to windows that has happened, and now the touch HID compatible drivers are apparently disabled in Device Manager?

  The touch screen no longer works, and I've pretty much exhausted all the options I could think.

  I tried to reinstall windows, apply all updates via the service center, I can't find the drivers for the touch screen on the support Web site downloads section and the bios etc is all to date.

  I was hoping someone could shed some light on how to proceed with this issue, since the main reason, she bought there the touch screen function.

  I don't have any idea what system you have installed, but if the laptop was equipped with touch screen, additional drivers for touchscreen are not necessary.
  If touch screen is working properly, the Windows (Win 8.1) should detect it automatically.

  From my point of few, the laptop must be set to settings factory just to check if its really a software related issue... so I wonder why you do not use HARD drive recovery or recovery media to restore the laptop to factory settings?

  I found the working version, and it is version F.08.

  Supposedly new version have different Active cables, and this is the reason why the screen is dark.

  So, case closed, everything is perfect.

  Let's try a few basic trounleshooting.

  I have another type of TouchSmart, but this may work for you:

  1. Press Windows + X logo (if you are using a Windows computer 8 - If Windows 7, click the Start button, type Device Manager and click on Device Manager in the results of research).
  2. Select Device Manager from the list.
  3. Click on the small arrow next to Interface devices to expand the list.
  4. Click the touchscreen driver (in my case, Voltron NextWindow touch screen).
  5. Right click and select Activate from the list.
  6. Click Yes if a dialog box asks if you are sure you want to activate the touch screen driver.

  On some models, it is unclear which device in the checklist of the touch screen. I read in other posts that some people have solved the problem by disabling and then re-enabling each device.

  If this does not work, you could try to go to hp.com (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html) and click on driver downloads &.
  In the search field, enter your product name or number, and then click OK. Select your operating system from the drop down list under Select your operating system, and then click Next.   I hope someone can help out me with this. I have a MBP 2011 (i7, 4 GB ram, 330 M) and since I've updated to El Capitan (now 10.11.2) my external screen no longer works. I use a HDMI Cable MiniPort who worked before the upgrade. I am trying to connect to a 720 p TV and tried to connect it to my 28 '' ASUS monitor 1080 p that I normally use for my Windows desktop. None worked. My MacBook display blinks for a while when I connect it and then nothing. I was not able to connect it to my projector via VGA USB adapter until I've found the last update on the Web site of the adapter, then at least the display has been resolved. I tried the 'View to detect' button in the preferences system, no luck.

  I had the same problems. I installed El Capitan in MacBook Air early 2015. My external monitor is Dell P2314H. After installation, the MacBook Air is no longer detected the monitor, and the monitor does not save any video input to the computer.

  I chatted with Apple Support, but they don't give me satisfactory answers.

  And the solution that works for me is proving to be as simple as changing the cable. So I stopped using official mini Apple displayport to HDMI/DisplayPort/DVI connector. Instead now I use a cable (mini displayport to displayport in my Dell of MacBook Air) I bought locally (I live in Jakarta, Indonesia). It works like magic.

  The fingertouch can be disabled.
  Go to the control panel? Pen & touch

  in the Pen and Touch Settings window, click on the contact tab
  Check or uncheck the checkbox next to your finger as input device
  Click on apply and then OK
