TouchSmart HP Envy 15 - fan runs loudly

This morning, I needed to recharge my phone. As the laptop has resided on the ground, I lifted one side of the laptop until you find the power plug-in and accidentally slipped my hand. The height of drop is about a foot or less. Then I booted up my laptop, it ran for a few seconds and turns off. I started again and this time it works correctly. However, the fan runs loudly and he will not stop until I turn off my laptop. I guess the bit is as strong as the 2nd level of the fan. Does that mean something is wrong with my hardware/driver? Help, please. Thank you.

This should help:

Try it please change the settings of cooling method.

Open the power settings for the management of the power supply you are using > change advanced power settings > Toshiba Power Saver Settings > cooling method > change two optimized battery options.

It should reduce the activity of fan cooling.

    Please send comments.

    Hello

  • Pavilion p6361fr - fan runs loud

    Hello

My client has a Pavilion p6361fr running under windows 7 Edition family, the office has not been used for a few weeks and has been electrically disconnected. When it has been used again, the cpu fan has worked very quickly with a noise hard CONSTANTLY. (it is very clean: no dust at all)

Don't you think that a CMOS reset could solve the problem? I feel like the motherboard is dying, but I would like to have a confirmation before starting the PC in the trash.

Also, I have an alert on the main hard drive: smart error, I certainly will replace it.

Thanks in advance for the help!

    Reset Cmos fixed the problem.

  • Satellite Pro M10 overheating and the fan runs loud

I have a Satellite Pro M10 and when it is the fan on the power grid comes shortly after the start and makes a horrible noise - this has only started happening recently. I tried spraying compressed air (dust) to the air outlet and still have the same problem.

Other postings say to clean the fan, but I don't know how to access it. I'm worried about overheating problems I work in Africa much of the time and the laptop is subject to hot temperatures.

    Hi Hannah,

The easy way to clear the dust and debris from the cooling system is to use a vacuum cleaner hose placed on the admission air grids that are usually in the bottom of the laptop (covered by a grid). For maximum effect, I usually place a rag around the pipe to maximize the flow of air through the fans.

This causes air suction through the radiator CPU the wrong way and ensures that all debris are not pulled into the heatsink, but are removed by fans. You can see a ball of down under the grates that you need to try to clear little by little.

This technique will not void your warranty since no disassembly of the unit is necessary.

    Kind regards

  • The fan runs loudly during startup.

When I start my Mac in the morning after I turn it off the night before, the fan made a charge to rush sound for about 30 seconds.  It is a pulse sounds similar to the waves of the ocean coming in and out.  At the same time, it freezes sometimes for a few minutes, and then it started working correctly.  After that, it works normally.  I'm looking at a catastrophe delayed?

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 15-J104sa memory card reader does not

I took delivery of a HP Touchsmart from Envy 15 - J104sa, running Windows 8.1 this week and the internal memory card reader does not work. It does not recognize SD cards (I tried more than one) and continues as if nothing has been inserted; Don't display an error message. The cards work on my previous HP laptop. The only way to get the laptop to show an inserted SD card is to run the driver software update (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63001-63500/sp63415.exe) whenever an SD card is inserted; This must be done with the card in the reader. If the software is running and then the card nothing happens. If the card is ejected and then re-inserted (or a new card inserted) it is not recognized and the process must be restarted and the driver reinstalled even though nothing has changed.

Can someone please help me with this question or I'll have to go back to the HP laptop. I do a lot of photography so being able to read fast and reliable SD card is extremely important for me; It is not a problem, I was expecting a new laptop all right out of the box.

    Thanks to you all.

Unfortunately not, updates of driver solves the problem, but an update of the BIOS through the HP helper application seems to have resolved the issue. While I appreciate there were not specific drivers available in my opinion, it is difficult to accept that HP should be able to release a model where they know the equipment are not fully supported by the operating system and in this case does not work.

Means that your mouths and radiator has more than dust on them and the fan does not work correctly. You have to disassemble and clean the fan and vents to let him work again properly.

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 15-j078ca - sound card problems

    Hello!

I have a HP Envy 15-j078ca running windows 8.1 touchsmart and, recently, I noticed that my audio is static/crackling noises. A test, I plugged my head phones to see if it was a speaker problem or a problem of sound card and audio in my headphones was also static noises.

Some of my audio programs tell me that it is a sound card problem.

What I did: I followed the advice on another thread that had me uninstall the drivers and hand it to reset my bios settings can have my drivers to reinstall but I found that my audio worked perfectly! ... for about 2 hours then my cell phone was dead silent so I got this back a few days and the audio was fine again... for a few hours before he began to do staic noises again.

  • PC fan put Loud/fast

Whenever I play a game, or even as a simple video on U Tube, my infographic makes a humming noise, it sounds like the fan runs really, really fast and its really hard to ignore the sound loud. other then that everything works well on my PC. I have a dell Inspiron 531 s, with AMD atahlon 64 x2dual core processor 5000 + 2.60 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive. anyone out there have this problem or knows something about this?

Fans inside computers are smart and speed up when the temperature of the components rising.  Generally, it is the CPU but may be too graphic and possibly other devices chips as well.  When these processors are working hard, they produce a lot of heat and fans speed up the creation of noise.

That's why they sell kits to change computers to use things like water cooling, passive cooling, refrigeration, etc.  In order to reduce the noise of the fans while keeping the freshness of processors.  But almost all standard computers has a fan, and according to the manufacturer, they can no longer strong when using it.

If it's really hard, you may have a defective fan which must be replaced.  You will have to take in a computer store to make this happen.  Sometimes, they can use quieter fans and other if it's a big problem for you.

  • e7240 CONSTANT NOISE OF FAN NOISY / FAN RUNNING ALL THE TIME

We received 2 nine E7240s directly from Dell, one for me and one for my colleague. As soon as I turned it on to build for my colleague, I noticed that the machine was overheating and the fan made a noise. Dell offers an upgrade of the BIOS that has not changed anything. They then changed the radiator, even once, that does not change and since then, they have changed the motherboard. My colleague went on vacation, so I don't know if the problem has been resolved, however, my laptop day you do not overheat (also of course as it has done for my colleague) BUT THE FAN RUNS ALL THE TIME. So much so that I think that the person in the room upstairs is using his hairdryer. Dell has replaced the heatsink of heat and the motherboard yesterday, I did the same update of the BIOS and the problem is even worse. As soon as I turn the thing, the fan runs all the time making a big noise. My predecessor was the E6500 and I was not bothered by noises, he did.

The 7240 made so much noise that I want to throw it out the window , seriously, I go back to my old 5 years e6500, which is now very slow, I can not just take constant hair dryer of the fan noise! I'm waiting for Dell back to me, but I don't see what else they can do.

I suspect a problem of design with newer models, someone with a laptop computer Latitude 13 also mentioned it on the Forum, someone else with an e7240 also said "I noticed the fan turns most of the time - it's quiet, but you don't know is spinning."  I just implemented, so the CPU is busy enough. "A person with the e6320 says"and the fan is noisy and turns far too often.

I just bought a new Dell Latitude E7240 with Windows 7 laptop and had the same problem with overheating and the fan is running loudly all the time. I just fixed it on my laptop, it may not work for everyone but just in case I walked it here.

The index for me was that the question has happened at home, not at work.

    • Using the Task Manager, I found that a "svchost.exe" process was always running at 25% of the CPU, i.e. to take 100% of one of the 4 hearts. For this you need view all processes, and that's why you need a local administrator account if she asks permission.
    • With right click on this process-online 'Go to services', you can study what services are hosted by this instance of svchost.
    • For each of these services, try to stop one at a time (if it helps) and see if the CPU usage goes down. For me, a clue was a service stuck on 'Stop' but never stopped.
    • The service which for me was the "HomeGroup provider." That's why the issue has happened at home and at work. The laptop had spotted my homegroup on my home network, but had not been able to accede. Maybe a problem with IPv6 that I could not turn on my desk.
    • In the Services tab in Task Manager, get on the service properties, which set to Disabled Startup Type.
    • Restart the laptop, to ensure that the service is stopped.

That did the trick for me, and now the CPU remains less than 5% when idle. This isn't the problem that the fan is noisy when the CPU usage is high, but for me what rarely happens now.

If you want to access files and printers on your home network without the homegroup feature, you can still do that the old way:

    • Network and sharing Center-Online avancΘs => Homegroup Connection-online 'use user accounts to connect to other computers.
    • Also in the settings advanced: enable discovery network. and Turn on File and Printer Sharing.
    • Then, you can click on your wifi network => add a printer.
    • If your office does not appear, click on "Not listed", then browse. As long as the network discovery and printer sharing are enabled, desktop PC should appear and you can connect using your local Windows user name and password.

    Hope this helps someone.
